  • Problem: writing parameter values to data driven MSTEST output

    Hi, I am trying to extract some information about the parameter variants used in an MSTEST data driven test case from trx file. Currently, For data driven tests, I get the output of same testcase with different inputs as a sequence of tags , but there is no info about the value of the variants. Example: Suppose we have a [data driven]TestMethod1() and the data rows contain variations a and b. There are two variations a=1,b=2 for which the test passes and a=3,b=4 for which the test fails. If we can output the info that it was a=1,b=2 which passed and a=3 b=4 which failed in the trx file; the output will be meaningful. Better information about test case runs from the output file alone(without any dependencies). Investigating the test failure without rerunning the whole set If the data rows change in data source(now a=1,b=2 pass and a=5,b=6 fail) , easy to decipher that the errors are different; although the fail sequence is still the same(row 0 pass row 1 fail but now row1 is different) Has any of you gone through a similar problem? What did you follow? I tried to put the parameter value information in the Description attribute of TestMethod, it didnt work. Any other methods you think can work too? thanks, Shubhankar

    I have been using MSpec to write my unit tests and really prefer the BDD style, I think it's a lot more readable. I'm now using Silverlight which MSpec doesn't support so I'm having to use MSTest but would still like to maintain a BDD style so am trying to work out a way to do this. Just to explain what I'm trying to acheive, here's how I'd write an MSpec test [Subject(typeof(Calculator))] public class when_I_add_two_numbers : with_calculator { Establish context = () => this.Calculator = new Calculator(); Because I_add_2_and_4 = () => this.Calculator.Add(2).Add(4); It should_display_6 = () => this.Calculator.Result.ShouldEqual(6); } public class with_calculator { protected static Calculator; } So with MSTest I would try to write the test like this (although you can see it won't work because I've put in 2 TestInitialize attributes, but you get what I'm trying to do..)     I would like to create an upload script that doesn't fall under the php upload limit. There might be an occasion where I need to upload a 2GB, or larger file and I don't want to have to change the whole server execution to above 32MB. Is there a way to write direct to disk from php? What method might you propose someone would use to accomplish this? I have read around stack overflow but haven't quite found what I am looking to do.

GetId is a String not int method that is not mistake. Test fails : unexpected invocation of person.getId() I'm using jMock any help would be appreciated. As I understood when I call this get method to execute it properly I need to mock person.getId() , and I've been sniping around in circles for a while now any help would be appreciated.

The problem is that the files open like they are supposed to and the names are correct but nothing is on any of the text screens.     I'm trying to write from a loop to a data frame in R, for example a loop like this for (i in 1:20) { print(c(i+i,i*i,i/1))} and to write each line of 3 values to a data frame with three columns, so that each iteration takes on a new row. I've tried using matrix, with ncol=3 and filled by rows, but only get the last item from the loop. Thanks.

  • Program occasionally stuck when writing to ldap

    hey guys, I have 2 databases for my program : mysql and ldap. All transactions happen to mysql, but i need ldap to connect to ip-phones. There's an option to synchronise the ldap database. So when the ldap is brand new, and mysql contains like 200+ records, it may want to update. But when inserting all those entries, it "freezes". It never happens at the same record, it's very random. Sometimes after 70 records, sometimes at 200 the program quits inserting, and gets stuck. This is very annoying. My best guess is that ldap can't handle that much inserts in a short time. Code isn't the problem, as it is a random problem. Does this seem familiar to somebody or is it just me? Thanks in advance.

    I'm trying to write a free text search algorithm for finding specific posts on a wall (similar kind of wall as Facebook uses). A user is suppose to be able to write some words in a search field and get hits on posts that contain the words; with the best match on top and then other posts in decreasing order according to match score. I'm using the edit distance (Levenshtein) "e(x, y) = e" to calculate the score for each post when compared to the query word "x" and post word "y" according to: score(x, y) = 2^(2 - e)(1 - min(e, |x|) / |x|) Each word in a post contributes to the total score for that specific post. This approach seems to work well when the posts are of roughly the same size, but sometime certain large posts manages to rack up score solely on having a lot of words in them while in practice not being relevant to the query. Am I approaching this problem in the wrong way or is there some way to normalize the score that I haven't thought of?

And, would I have to create these "mapped" types for all the types in these return types/parameter type hierarchies, all the way down until I get to all primitives?     Hello, we are doing quite some invoice generation, and so far it is based on some pretty awful word automation that is now in for a review with Word 2010. I would love to move to a XML based format for storing / presenting invoices, only going to a word document in the last stage. This means I can use easily othermeans to present an invoice internally from the XML. We use Word as "last stage" because Word is a lot better than anything else ever discovered for formatting - our invoices have quite some text sometimes, in the invoice item table, and word is smartest with handling page breaks in the "correct" way. Now, here my question: is there any proper way by now to do this with XML easily? I remember Word having (had) in 2007 some XML field mapping mechanism, but it did not handle tables in the XML. Was anything changed? What would be the proposed approach for generating an .docx document (starting with a .dotx templace) for an invoice, if the relevant data is available in XML form?
