  • Custom firmware for Asus WL-520g

    What custom firmware works with Asus WL-520g? (Note this is not 520gU, 520gC, etc.) I failed to flash it with Tomato (Tomato_1_28_ND.zip) - the admin UI does not accept the file, and when trying to tftp the file as adviced for 520gU all I get is this: Transfering file tomato-ND.trx to server in octet mode... Error occurred during the file transfer (Error code = 0): Error in SendPacket() call. I just saved the router form rather unsuccessful flash to DD-WRT (after few hours the router fell into coma), and I'd like to keep it as a backup should the new one die or whatever. (Unfortunately the stock firmware does not support WOL.)

  • administraitor denies command prompt

    I looked at the command prompt faqs on this webiste and tried to get me to make a new profile but when i went to open it it said "The command prompt has been disabled by your administraitor-click any key to countinue" and when i do it closes which i knew that was going to happen. Is there someway i can stop the admin from blocking my command prompt? oh and i was at school too (Dont know if this helps but i am in the West Allis West Milwaukee school district). Also, is there a way i can hack into the blocking program for my school at all? I don't remember what the program is but it might have to do with vision? I'm not sure but it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help (could i download a program on a flash drive that denies any blocking and/or disabling SafeSearch and plug it in into a computer at my school and use it from the flash drive? Would the school blocking thingy deny it from working?) HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

    I've been thinking about ways of speeding up disk I/O, and one of the bottlenecks I keep coming back to is the journal. There's an obvious benefit to using an SSD for the journal - over and above just write caching unless of course I just disable the journal with the write cache (after all devicemapper doesn't seem to support barriers). In order to get the benefits from using a BB write cache on the controller, then I'd need to disable journalling - but then the OS should try to fsck the system after an outage. Of course if the OS knows what's in the batter-backed memory then it could use it as the journal - but that means it must be exposed as a block device and only be under the control of the operating system. However I've not been able to find a suitable low-cost device (no, write-levelling for Flash is not adequate for a journal, at least one which uses Smartmedia). While there's no end of flash devices, disk/array controllers with BB write caches, so far I've not found anything which just gives me non-volatile memory addressable as a block storage device.

  • Visual Studio opening .xml files in Notepad

    So I'm happily working on a project making heavy use of custom .xml configuration files this morning. All of a sudden, whenever I double-click an .xml file in Solution Explorer, it opens in Notepad instead of within Visual Studio. Thinking that it was the Windows file associations, I right-clicked on a file in Explorer, selected Open With Choose Defaults, and selected Visual Studio 2008. But the problem remains -- now when I open a file from Explorer, Visual Studio Opens, then it opens Notepad. Needless to say, this is very frustrating, and Google is not much help. Has anyone else ever had this problem, and what did you do about it? Notes: This only happens for .xml files. Other text files (.config, .txt) open within Visual Studio just fine. This has nothing to do with Windows file associations, as Windows open up VS2008 just as it should. This is some crazy problem internal to Visual Studio. I've also tried Tools Options General Restore File Associations. No luck. Nothing present in Tools Options Text Editor File Extension This is what my "Open With" menu looks like for .xml files. As you can see, "XML Editor" is set to the default.

    I have a service which works perfectly on the local development server, but once moved to the remote iis7 server, it fails. I've been browsing the service in a browser manually. Here's the steps I've been taking: Open up Service.svc Open up Service.svc?wsdl Open up Service.svc?wsdl0 Open up Service.svc?xsd=xsd0 Step 4. is where it fails. If i browse on the development server it works. If i browse on the iis7 server, I get a connection reset error. Any help appreciated.

  • Using "ocamlfind" to make the OCaml compiler and toplevel find (project specific) libraries

    Hello, I'm trying to use ocamlfind with both the OCaml compiler and toplevel. From what I understood, I need to place the required libraries in the _tags file at the root of my project, so that the ocamlfind tool will take care of loading them - allowing me to open them in my modules like so : open Sdl open Sdlvideo open Str Currently, my _tags file looks like this : <*>: pkg_sdl,pkg_str I can apparently launch the ocamlfind command with the ocamlc or ocamlopt argument, provided I wan't to compile my project, but I did not see an option to launch the toplevel in the same manner. Is there any way to do this (something like "ocamlfind ocaml")? I also don't know how to place my project specific modules in the _tags file : imagine I have a module name Land. I am currently using the #use "land.ml" directive to open the file and load the module, but it has been suggested that this is not good practice. What syntax should I use in _tags to specify it should be loaded by ocamlfind (considering land.ml is not in the ocamlfind search path) ? Thank you, Charlie P. Edit : According to the first answer of this post, the _tags file is not to be used with ocamlfind. Once I make the call to open(), does execution continue directly below the open() and another "thread" enters the asynch function once the ajax request has been completed? Or, does the browser wait for the request to complete, make the Asynch call, and then execution continues right after the open? Thanks!

I can't figure out how to make ruby send traffic over a specific iface(eth0 and wlan0 for example).     i'm trying to use the wave module to read wav files in python. whats not typical of my applications is that I'm NOT using a file or a filename to read the wav file, but instead i have the wav file in a buffer.     I have some encrypted pdf files that have no problem and in my last windows, I could open them easily with Adobe Reader 9.2 and other pdf readers. But now, I can only open non-encrypted pdf files and one encrypted file with Adobe Reader. every time I open almost any encrypted pdf, it closes itself. Also, when I try to search a folder for a keyword with Foxit Reader, once it closed. This is not related to Adobe Reader, because I have the same problem with Word 2007. When I open a document, sometimes it closes instantly and sometimes it closes after a few seconds and sometimes it is stable. My windows is Fresh. I have installed it a few days ago. Collect the Cookie information for each call, and store it to a file. Send another call: http://myserver.com:1111/cookie?out=text Store the output (body text) of this file to a separate file for each call made in 4 Open the next URL in the text file given in 1 and repeat steps 1-6. The above is to be run with multi-threading, so that I can send around 5-10 URL requests simultaneously. I have implemented something in Selenium using Java, but have not been able to do the multi-threading approach. Then when I capture the cookie information from here and store it, I open another window to output all the cookie information for that server to my browser window. This works fine when I do outside of Selenium code, but when I do it within the above code, it opens a "Save As..." popup and my tests stop. :-( I wish to save the contents of that second call to a new file, but have not been able to do the same. Also, if I have to send multiple such requests to the server, how would that be possible in Java using a Selenium Framework. Currently, I am opening multiple instances of the framework and running them with different parameters :-(

    I'm having an issue where asterisk will play our greeting to the caller, and then drop the call instead of making our phones ring. The bit of information I could find said it was caused by an error in evaluating a dialplan expression.     i have a win7 system and i want to install debian 6 on usb flash drive. the problem is grub loader. i want to install the grub loader on usb itself, so i can just plug in the pendrive in any computer and boot to deb6. so in effect making the flash drive an independent system. i tried it earlier, but ended up with grub loader needing me to insert the pendrive every time to give me boot options to even boot the win7 system, even though it was on primary hdd. so is there a way to turn the pendrive into full linux system with own boot loader, which can automatically detect os in the system i plug it in and be able to boot any of them. totally, self sufficient and system independent; making the pen drive so that it only needs a host system to run the os it carries. thank you, waiting for replies.

  • UIActionSheet cancel button strange behaviour

    I have a UIBarButtonItem opening an action sheet to offer users choices about what to do. Everything works as expected unless I try to click on the "Cancel" button. The target of the button appears to have moved up from where it should be. I can only activate it by clicking somewhere in the middle of the "Cancel" and "Ok" buttons. I've tried at action sheets in other applications and they work fine, so it's not just my big thumb.   • Powerpoint file can be deleted without consequence

    I am working on a license management type application that copies a password protected zip file to the applications root. The user clicks a button "Open Presentation" and the zipped file is extracted into the root folder and then I use the Office interop to open the file in Powerpoint. At this point to my surprise I am able to delete the extracted file that is currently open in the Powerpoint application. I had assumed that trying to delete the file would fail as the file is still open in Powerpoint. Why is it allowing me to delete the file? Is the file somehow copied to a temp folder and then opened in PowerPoint? Can I move forward with the application relying on this ability to delete the file as soon as it is opened in Powerpoint? This would be optimal because it helps insure that the file cannot be copied(I am also using the xml to stop "Save As" and "Save" from appearing int Powerpoint). Thanks for the insight, John
