• php POST and non-english language chars passes empty

  I'm trying to program a Hebrew site with a search option. (old site and the charset of this site is windows-1255) I am using php 5.2 with Apache 2.2, on a Debian 5 (Lenny) with appropriate code pages enabled. I am using _POST to pass arguments to a script. If I pass English word to the script everything works, but when I use Hebrew nothing is passed through the POST function. When I use ECHO to show _POST, the variable is empty. What might be the problem? P.S. this is old site that worked fine on PHP 4 with debian 4, and the problem arised only after we upgrade to PHP5+debian5.

• Engine finish() causes segmentation fault

  Hello All - I am using M2Crypto revision 723 from the repository. I am trying to clean up my engine. If I have the pkcs11.finish() line in my script, the script finishes but gets a segmentation fault at the end. Without the finish() line, no segmentation fault occurs. • SSMS Results to Grid - CRLF not preserved in copy/paste - any better techniques?

  When I have a result set in the grid like: SELECT 'line 1 line 2 line 3' or SELECT 'line 1' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 2' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 3' With embedded CRLF, the display in the grid appears to replace them with spaces (I guess so that they will display all the data). The problem is that if I am code-generating a script, I cannot simply cut and paste this. I have to convert the code to open a cursor and print the relevant columns so that I can copy and paste them from the text results. Is there any simpler workaround to preserve the CRLF in a copy/paste operation from the results grid? The reason that the grid is helpful is that I am currently generating a number of scripts for the same object in different columns - a bcp out in one column, an xml format file in another, a table create script in another, etc...

• Open an attachment for editing and save changes made to it

  My Lotus Notes document has a rich text item that stores an attachment. I want to edit the attachment and after this to save the attachment back to the Lotus Notes document. This is the script that launches the attachment: @Command([EditGotoField];"Attachment"); @Command([EditSelectAll]); @Command([AttachmentLaunch]); @Command([EditDeselectAll]) This script opens the attachment, but the changes made are not reflected to the Lotus Document. One way of solving this is to add AttachmentActionDefault=2 as an entry to the notes.ini. This enables to edit the attachment when double clicking on attachment. Also using the right click on the attachment, and then choosing edit action, produces the same result. In both cases, after saving, the changes are reflected back to the Lotus Notes document. The problem is that I want to use a button for opening the attachment.

• importing content into drupal.

  I have a wordpress site with 5k post and each post has average 25 comments. so 125k total nodes have to be added. I need import those posts and comments into drupal 6 . I have written a script to import those post/comments into drupal by drupal's cron service. but the cron service keeps time out. because import 125k nodes one by one is very slow. what can i do to imporve drupal importing speed? i am use drupal built in node_save(), comment_save() method to do it. I have not find out a way to use customized SQL query to increase importing speed yet. I am execute my script through drupals's cron.php, that mean even i have set 'max_execute_time' to unlimited, but that only affects PHP , apache server has it own time out setting.

• PHPMailer safe practices - Send escaped / sanitized variables or not ?

  I'm using the PHPMailer-Lite class to build an email sending script and I'm not sure if I should use addslashses() on the $name variable when adding it to the constructor. If somebody's last name would be O'Riley (or any other name that contains characters which should normally be sanitized before handling) and I would send it unescaped, wouldn't it mess with the script/email sending ? Is it safe to send it unescaped ? As a side note, I would also like to avoid having my message body say "Hello, O\'Riley". Looking at the source, I saw that it only trims the whitespace and line ending (\r\n) characters from the received $name variable, so any advice on this would be more than welcome. • Change a localized InfoPlist.strings using an Xcode target

  Here's an obscure problem. I'm using an InfoPlist.strings to localize my app name. It's only got one value: CFBundleDisplayName = "Mon App". The strings file is localized (putting it in a directory for that localization). I've just made an extra target, where I change things like the non-localized app name (different Info.plists), and the icon. I'm also changing the Default.png using a run script build phase (copying different files depending on the app type I'm building). I've tried using the script to copy different versions of my InfoPlist.strings, but I couldn't make it work. Here's what I used: if($TARGET_NAME == "MonApp")then cp fr.lproj/MonApp_InfoPlist.strings fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings endif I've seen a post suggesting wincent strings util for processing strings, but wanted to see if there's an easy way to do this. Any help greatly appreciated.

• Problem with autocommit in ANT SQL task

  I have an SQL script and want to apply it witn ANT task. This script clears out schema, creates new tables and views. The ANT defined task as follows: <sql driver="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" url="jdbc:mysql://host:3306/smth" userid="smth" password="smth" expandProperties="false" autocommit="true" src="all.sql" > </sql> When this task launches, it shows in log that tables are cleared and created. But when it tries to create first view, it fails with: Failed to execute: CREATE VIEW component... AS SELECT component_raw.id AS MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Table 'component_raw' doesn't exist I have no idea why it fails here. Running this all.sql from MySQL query browser gives no errors. When I launched ANT with -v option, I didn't see any "COMMIT" messages.. Please, help to resolve the problem.

I suspect there is a better way (maybe with the ffmpeg library), but scripting is what I know and ffmpeg generally works.   Nowadays your site is not in fashion if you don't show at least a couple of share buttons like these: Is this just fashion, or do people actually get something good out of it? When I say "something good" I mostly mean something that you could measure, and not just the feeling that was good. Maybe I can better explain with an example: did you notice (in some way) that many people clicked on those links to share your page/s on those web 2.0 social sites? And in such a case on which social networks did you see they mostly share your pages? BTW I'm not talking about Google PR, i know all web 2.0 social sites use nofollow everywhere and even hidden links, so they are useless by themselves for PR. UPDATE: According to this video, Google's Alter Ego says that they now use in some way data from social sites in ranking. If this is true, it's obvious that the Share on button for FB, Tweet, etc are definitely of some values. But again my question is more about what you noticed in your real experience to be a direct benefit of adding those type of "Share On" links on your webisite? I.e. did you see more traffic coming in form FB, or some users who bought your products because of FB or Twitter? Or any other benefits? Thanks

  I have an action that renders two different view scripts based on whether the user is logged in or not. class IndexController extends Zend_Controller_Action { .... public function indexAction() { $auth = Zend_Auth::getInstance(); if($auth->hasIdentity()) { $this->render('indexregistered'); return; } else { $this->render('indexpublic'); return; } } .... } I have seen quite some useful examples on how to use the Zend Cache and they seem to be based on the fact that the action renders one particular script. What am really looking at is the best approach to cache the the indexpublic script does get quite some hits and I would live to avoid the Zend MVC overhead if possible.
