• Selenium Webdriver (FirefoxDriver)

  Hey all, I'm using Selenium Webdriver to do some robottesting. Since some functions appear to only work in Firefox, I'm obligated to use Firefoxdriver. Now and then, something weird happens. Starting up te driver driver = new FirefoxDriver(); driver.get(URL); gets firefox to startup but not to go to the specified url. The strange thing is that it works on another computer with the same preferences set in Firefox. I solved this problem once by changing to another version of firefox, but this time this doesn't do the trick for me, it did however worked for the other developers. Yes, the error started for all developers on the same time, same day... My first question is: is it a firefox problem or Webdriver problem. • getDate with Jquery Datepicker

  i am trying to get date from my implementation of jquery date picker, add it to a string and display the resulting image in my div. Something however is just not working. Can anyone check out the code and have a look at it? • Java, Jacob and Microsoft Outlook events: Receiving "Can't find event iid" Error

  I am writing a Java program that interacts with Microsoft Outlook using the Jacob library (bridges COM and Java). This program creates a new MailItem, displaying its Inspector window to the user. I wish to subscribe to the inspector's Close event to know when the user is finished editing their mail item. To subscribe to the event, I followed the instructions in Jacob's documentation (about 2⁄3 down the page): The current [event] model is conceptually similar to the Visual Basic WithEvents construct. Basically, I provide a class called com.jacob.com.DispatchEvents which has a constructor that takes a source object (of type com.jacob.com.Dispatch) and a target object (of any type). The source object is queried for its IConnectionPointContainer interface and I attempt to obtain an IConnectionPoint for its default source interface (which I obtain from IProvideClassInfo). At the same time, I also create a mapping of DISPID's for the default source interface to the actual method names. I then use the method names to get jmethodID handles from the target Java object. All event methods currently must have the same signature: one argument which is a Java array of Variants, and a void return type. This makes it possible to work with all the Microsoft Office application events, as well as IE5 events. For an example see the samples/test/IETest.java example. • Paging through records (json data) using jQuery...

  I have a JSON result that contains numerous records. I'd like to show the first five records in one page and create pager links which have to move to that page with five record so on. I don't want the page to refresh which is why I'm hoping for a combination of JavaScript and jQuery. • How can I define a clojure type that implements the servlet interface?

  I'm attempting to use deftype (from the bleeding-edge clojure 1.2 branch) to create a java class that implements the java Servlet interface. I would expect the code below to compile (even though it's not very useful). (ns foo [:import [javax.servlet Servlet ServletRequest ServletResponse]]) (deftype servlet [] javax.servlet.Servlet (service [this #^javax.servlet.ServletRequest request #^javax.servlet.ServletResponse response] nil)) But it doesn't compile. The compiler produces the message: Mismatched return type: service, expected: void, had: java.lang.Object [Thrown class java.lang.IllegalArgumentException] Which doesn't make sense to me, because I'm returning nil. So the fact that the return type of the method is void shouldn't be a problem. For instance, for the java.util.Set interface: (deftype bar [#^Number n] java.util.Set (clear [this] nil)) compiles without issue. So what am I doing wrong with the Servlet interface? To be clear: I know that the typical case is to subclass one of the servlet abstract classes rather than implement this interface directly, but it should still be possible to do this. • Resgen al.exe generated resources do not work within .net library

  Hi, I am currently working on a library in .Net and I planned to make the strings that are used within the library into culture specific resource files. I made Resources.resx, Resources.en-US.resx and Resources.ja-JP.resx file. I also deleted the Resources.designer.cs file autogenerated by visual studio 2008. I am loading Resources through my custom ResourceManager object [using GetString method]. The problem that I am facing is that when I compile the library within visual studio and set the culture from the calling application, everything is working fine. But if I manually go to the directory and change a string for a culture and regenerate the satellite assembly with resgen and al.exe, the string displayed, falls back to the invariant culture.   on my tableview i have the last cell that is not initially visible as seen in the first image, when i scroll the list up, you can see in the second image that the price or my detailTextLabel is put on a new line not maintaining the right justification. • Where is my object allocation and memory leak in this iPhone/objective C code?

  Hello, I'm still a rookie when it comes to this programming gig and was wondering if someone could help me smooth out this code. Functionally, the code works great and does what I need it to do. • Getting uninitialized constant error when trying to run tests

  I just updated all my gems and I'm finding that I'm getting errors when trying to run Test::Unit tests. I'm getting the error copied below. That comes from creating new, empty Rails project, scaffolding a simple model, and running rake test. Tried Googling "uninitialized constant" and TestResultFailureSupport. The only thing I found was this bug report from 2007. I'm using OS X. • Strange crashes when using MPMoviePlayerController in iPad and iPad simulator with iOS 4.2.

  I'm getting crashes when trying to play a movie using MPMoviePlayerController on the iPad and in the iPad simulator using iOS 4.2. I am building using xcode 3.2.5 and the 4.2 SDK. When running on an iPad using iOS 3.2 or in the iPad simulator 3.2, the same code works fine, but on an iPad running 4.2 or in the iPad simulator 4.2, it crashes. The crash is due to an exception for calling an unknown selector down somewhere deep in the cocoa libraries, something tries to call a selector called "setHitRectInsets:" on a UIButton object. Also, the crash happens after control has returned to the main event loop. Anybody have any idea what might be causing this?   Hey. I have a very simple text output to buffer system which will crash randomly. It will be fine for DAYS, then sometimes it'll crash a few times in a few minutes. Apparently it happens to other people. I can say that my NSString* is perfectly fine at the time of the crash. • UITableViewCell rounded corners and clip subviews

  I can't find anything anywhere(search engines, docs, here, etc) that shows how to create rounded corners (esp. in a grouped table view) on an element that also clips the subviews. I have code that properly creates a rounded rectangle out of a path with 4 arcs(the rounded corners) that has been tested in the drawRect: method in my subclassed uitableviewcell. The issue is that the subviews, which happen to be uibuttons with their internal uiimageviews, do no obey the CGContextClip() that the uitableviewcell obeys. • webserver horrible slow, sometimes incredible fast

  i am running a small community ( 6000+ Members ) on a non-virtual 64-bit ubuntu 11.04 system. I am not a Linux-pro, not even advanced, i just tried to setup a webserver, which does nothing special actually. Delivering some dynamic PHP and RoR websites is its task. So it might be that my configuration files do look horrible bad. Also, i might use the wrong vocabulary, so in doubt, please ask. Having a current all-time record of 520 registered users (board-accounts, no system-users) online at same time, average server-load is about 2.0 - 5.0. Meantime (~250 users) average server load value is at about 0.4 - 0.8, sometimes, on some expensive searches a bit higher. everything fine. From time to time however, the load increases up to 120 (120.0, not 12.0 ;) ). In this time, its hard to even connect via SSH, but when i reach the server, and use top/htop/iotop to see whats happening, i cannot identify any process causing high CPU load. iotop tells me about a current reading/writing speed of about approx. 70kb/s, which is quite equal to power-off i think. Memory-Usage is max. at ~ 12GB of 16GB, so swap remains empty. now the odd (at least for me:) waiting some minutes ( since i always get a bit into a panic when this happens, it feels like 5 minutes, but i suppose its more like 20-30 minutes) and the server is back to normal. everything continues as normal. another odd fact: when i run hdparm -tT /dev/sda, i get answer like: /dev/sda: Timing cached reads: 7180 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3591.13 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 348 MB in 3.02 seconds = 115.41 MB/sec when i run the same command while the server is "frozen", the answer is like /dev/sda: <- takes about 5 minutes until this line appears Timing cached reads: 7180 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3591.13 MB/sec <- 5 more minutes Timing buffered disk reads: 348 MB in 3.02 seconds = 115.41 MB/sec <- another 5 minutes so the values are the same, but the quoted time is completely wrong. using time command as prefix also tells me that ~ 15 minutes were used. I searched in dmesg, /var/log/[messages|syslog] - nothing found. /var/log/errors however tells me that: Jul 4 20:28:30 localhost kernel: [19080.671415] INFO: task php5-fpm:27728 blocked for more than 120 seconds. Jul 4 20:28:30 localhost kernel: [19080.671419] "echo 0 /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. multiple times. now that message does tell me that php5-fpm task was blocked or did block ? - but not if that is the cause or just one of the results of that "freeze". Anyone? to cut the long story short, i dont know where even to start analyzing. So if you can give me any advice by looking at following specs and configs, or ask me to provide more information, i`d be glad. Specs: 6 Core AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T Processor * 16 Gigabyte Ram 2x 1.5 TB Seagate ST1500DL003-9VT16L via SATA 3 via SoftwareRaid (i suppose) Services: (due to service --status-all, those with [ + ]) nginx Webserver 1.0.14 mySQL 5.1.63 Server Ruby on Rails 2.3.11 ( passenger-nginx-module ) php5-fpm 5.3.6-13ubuntu3.7 SSH ido2db Further services: default crontab + nightly backup. syslog-ng Website consists of 2 subdomains, forum. and www. where forum is a phpBB3.x PHP-Board, and www a Ruby on Rails 2.3.11 application (portal). Mini-Note: sometimes i notice that the forum is pretty slow, in contrast to the always-fast (except for this "freeze") portal. Both share the same Database, but the portal is using it read-only. The Webserver is nginx, using phusion passenger module to communicate with the ruby-application. One additional Fact: my MYSQL-database is at 12GB size. i dont know if that does matter, but mytop sometimes shows me 4-5 seconds long insert queries, some are 20-30 seconds long. Its just a feeling that i am unable to prove (because i dont know how), but when i disable the database, the freeze seems not to happen. I currently feel like running form bad to worse and back by googling for my server-problem due to immense lack of knowledge regarding server configurations. It still makes me wonder, why those problems even appear, since 250 users a time is not such a high amount, right? So my questions: whats wrong and how to fix? ;) or: what information can i provide to make the situation more clear? can you point at some critical bad configuration-line which i should consider to catch up in the documentation? are there any tools i can run to see some possible bottlenecks? any further advice? (next to: "pay someone who knows what he does" - its a private project, server costs enough already. :)) Thanks for your time and help.
