  • Help with Jquery function

    - by Madhur Ahuja
    Ok, Here is my problem: I have this function in a third party javascript library defined as RedirectLink(a,b,c,d,e) where a,b,c,d,e are strings. I also have a link in my webSite which is again autogenerated (And I can't change it) <a href="javascript: RedirectLink("1", "2", "3" ,"4" ,"5")" id="mylink" > What I need to do is, read this anchor's (mylink) href and I need to call RedirectLink function such as javascript: RedirectLink("1", "2", "3" + param, "4" , "5"). where param will come from query string. The first part is easy, reading the href but how to alter the third parameter ?

  • jQuery .toggle() called by window.setInterval() not functioning

    - by Paul Daly
    I am trying to alternate between two logos every 5 seconds using the following code: window.setInterval( function () { //breakpoint 1 $("#logo").toggle( function() { //breakpoint 2 $(this).attr('src', '/Images/logo1.png'); }, function() { //breakpoint 3 $(this).attr('src', '/Images/logo2.png'); } ); }, 5000 ); I can get a simple toggle to work, but when I introduce the toggle within window.setInterval(), the toggle's two handlers won't fire. I set breakpoints on the lines directly beneath the comments in the code above. Breakpoint 1 hits every 5 seconds. However, Breakpoint 2 and 3 never hit. Why are neither of the toggle function's handlers firing?

I was using this.match = this.id.match(/(Promotion)-([0-9a-f]{2})/); but it is not giving me exact result but it gives me array of (Promotion-2f, Promotion, 2f) but this is not what I require. Any guidance and also if any one can refer me to good online resource for regex, it would highly helpful and appreciated.

  • jQuery treat hover on two elements as one elements

    - by davewilly
    I have an image map which I have overlaid with some markers in the form of anchors. I currently have a hover trigger on each image map area and the associated anchor - as shown in screen shot I need to treat these two elements as one, as currently when mouse is moved out of one onto the other it calls .hover() and callback again. I want to call hover callback only when mouse is moved out of either elements.

  • Using Jquery to slowly hide a div

    - by Pete Herbert Penito
    Hi everyone! I'm trying to make some code which finds if a div exists, and if it does then have it fade away slowly. I have this to determine whether or not the div exists if($('#error').length != 0) { $('#error').hide(500); } And that does work but only on a refresh, I've been attempting to put it in a timer like this: var refreshId = setInterval(function() { if($('#error').length != 0) { $('#error').hide(500); } }, 500); But its not getting rid of the innerHTML! I have some code which on hover alters the innerHTML of the error div so I can fill it up, but for some reason this isn't working, any advice would help! Thank you!

  • How to slow down Uploadify plugin script voor jQuery

    - by Peter
    Now if that isn't a weird question, I don't know what is. But here is the problem: I have a function in my "onSelect" option that has to collect some data (through AJAX) and I have a function in my "onComplete" option that processes the just uploaded files based on the data "onSelect" collected. However, with very small files, the "onSelect" hasn't finished yet before the upload is complete and the "onComplete" fails because it lacks the necessary data. Bigger files work just fine. So, I'm looking for a way to stall the upload of the file. To let it start only after the function in onSelect completed fetching the necessary data. Any ideas? Here is an example of the function that the onSelect triggers: var foo = new Array(); function checkDB( event, queueID , fileObj ) { $.post( ajax_folder + 'fetchData' , { ref: "someValue" } , function( data ){ foo[ queueID ] = data.result; } , 'json' ); return true; }

    - by Charles Marsh
    Hello All, I have this peice of coding which simply swaps an image when a link is clicked, I also show some hidden html content which is positioned over the image. <script> if($.browser.msie && parseInt($.browser.version) <= 6){ $('#contentone, #contenttwo, #contentthree, #contentfour, .linksBackground').hide(); } $('#contentone, #contenttwo, #contentthree, #contentfour').hide(); $("#linkone").click(function() { $('#contenttwo, #contentthree, #contentfour').hide("1500"); $("#imageone").attr("src","Resources/Images/TEMP-homeOne.jpg"); $("#contentone").show("1500"); }); $("#linktwo").click(function() { $('#contentone, #contentthree, #contentfour').hide("1500"); $("#imageone").attr("src","Resources/Images/TEMP-homeTwo.jpg"); $("#contenttwo").show("1500"); }); $("#linkthree").click(function() { $('#contentone, #contenttwo, #contentfour').hide("1500"); $("#imageone").attr("src","Resources/Images/TEMP-homeThree.jpg"); $("#contentthree").show("1500"); }); $("#linkfour").click(function() { $('#contentone, #contenttwo, #contentthree').hide("1500"); $("#imageone").attr("src","Resources/Images/TEMP-homeFour.jpg"); $("#contentfour").show("1500"); }); </script> Does anyone know how I can further modify this to show a small thumbnail image when the user rolls over the link? I just need a hint because I'm not sure where to turn to... can I achieve it with mouseover?

  • jQuery / Loading content into div and changing url's (working but buggy)

    - by Bruno
    This is working, but I'm not being able to set an index.html file on my server root where i can specify the first page to go. It also get very buggy in some situations. Basically it's a common site (menu content) but the idea is to load the content without refreshing the page, defining the div to load the content, and make each page accessible by the url. One of the biggest problems here it's dealing with all url situations that may occur. The ideal would be to have a rel="divToLoadOn" and then pass it on my loadContent() function... so I would like or ideas/solutions for this please. Thanks in advance! //if page comes from URL if(window.location.hash != ''){ var url = window.location.hash; url = '..'+url.substr(1, url.length); loadContent(url); } //if page comes from an internal link $("a:not([target])").click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); var url = $(this).attr("href"); if(url != '#'){ loadContent($(this).attr("href")); } }); //LOAD CONTENT function loadContent(url){ var contentContainer = $("#content"); //set load animation $(contentContainer).ajaxStart(function() { $(this).html('loading...'); }); $.ajax({ url: url, dataType: "html", success: function(data){ //store data globally so it can be used on complete window.data = data; }, complete: function(){ var content = $(data).find("#content").html(); var contentTitle = $(data).find("title").text(); //change url var parsedUrl = url.substr(2,url.length) window.location.hash = parsedUrl; //change title var titleRegex = /(.*)<\/title/.exec(data); contentTitle = titleRegex[1]; document.title = contentTitle; //renew content $(contentContainer).fadeOut(function(){ $(this).html(content).fadeIn(); }); }); }
