  Hi all, I'm trying to execute a ffmpeg operation through Qt I would like to execute this line : ./ffmpeg -t 10 -i temp1 -f mpeg - > temp2 When I execute through the terminal, it works perfectly fine. How ever when I launch it through Qt like this : QProcess *process = new QProcess(); QString parameters("./ffmpeg -t 10 -i temp1 -f mpeg - > temp2"); std::cout << process->execute(parameters) << std::endl; I get an Unable to find a suitable output format for '>' any body has the idea of why ?

  I'm trying to use CLEAR Motorola WiMax USB in Ubuntu as there is no support for linux as yet. I've installed windowsxp as guest in ubuntu and the version I'm using is 3.2.2. USB is connecting fine in WindowsXP but I can't use internet in Ubuntu. Can you please tell me how to do it. Here is the configuration that could help you guys. Thanks in advance. • How to improve IntelliJ code editor speed?

  I am using IntelliJ (Community Edition) for several months, and at first I'm pleased about its speed & simplicity. But now, after upgrading to version 10, it's extremely slow. Sometimes I click a file then it takes 5 - 15 seconds to open that file (it freeze for that time). I don't know if I have done anything which cause that: I have installed 2 plugins(regex, sql), and have 2 versions of IntelliJ on my machine (now the version 9 removed, only version 10 remains). Is there any tips to improve speed of code editor, in general, or specifically IntelliJ? I have some experience when using IntelliJ: 1. Should open IntelliJ a while before working, cause it needs time for indexing. Don't open too many code tabs Open as less other program as possible. I'm using 2 GB RAM WinXP, and it just seems fairly enough for Java, IntelliJ & Chrome at the same time.

• Estimate serialization size of objects?

  In my thesis, I woud like to enhance messaging in a cluster. It's important to log runtime information about how big a message is (should I prefer processing local or remote). I could just find frameoworks about estimating the object memory size based on java instrumentation. I've tested classmexer, which didn't come close to the serialization size and sourceforge SizeOf. In a small testcase, SizeOf was around 10% wrong and 10x faster than serialization. (Still transient breaks the estimation completely and since e.g. ArrayList is transient but is serialized as an Array, it's not easy to patch SizeOf. But I could live with that) On the other hand, 10x faster with 10% error doesn't seem very good. Any ideas how I could do better?

When I use filter2, everything works as expected only if the SubsectionAmount variable is less than 10. As soon as I set SubsectionAmount=10, the dr2 array returns Nothing. • Packet Crafting on a Mac

  I think (based on searching the forums), that NetCat is the best option, but wanted to hear if others are preferable. Anyone have good success with a packet-crafting tool (specifically on Mac)? I've tried HPing, but had some issues. I'm looking into NetCat ('nc' on mac) now, but it's not working as I had thought. Basically, I captured some packets that a remote control sends over a wifi network to turn lights on and off (using X10 controllers), and am looking for a way to replay them by crafting a TCP packet from the command line. I used Wireshark to sniff the traffic, so I know the package is: DEVICE -sendplc-"C4 DIM 10" I'm trying: echo 'DEVICE -sendplc-"C4 DIM 10"' nc 192.168.2.196 6003 but there's no response from the receiving system. I was able to connect to my database and retrive all records and made 5 pages with links to view each pages using php script. webpage will look like this: name number john 1232343456 tony 9878768544 jack 3454562345 joe 1232343456 jane 2343454567 andy 2344560987 marcy 9873459876 sean 8374623534 mark 9898787675 nancy 8374650493 1 2 3 4 5 that's the first page of 58 records and those 5 numbers at bottom are links to each page that will display next 10 records. I got all that. but what I want to do is display the links in this way: 1-10 11-20 21-30 31-40 41-50 51-58 note: since i have 58 records, last link will display upto 58, instead of 60. Since I used the loop to create this link, depending on how many records i have, the link will change according to the number of records in my table. How can i do this? Thanks.

I cannot understand that, I thought I knew how the fork() works, but this seems very odd.. I need an explanation on why the address is the same, although they are separate variables.

  I'm trying to stream a file from a remote website to a local command and am running into some problems when trying to detect errors. What I expect is the loaded page in one stream and STDERR from wget in another. I can see I've simplified the code to the point where it's not clear why I want to use open3, but the general plan is that I wanted to stream stdout to another filtering program as I received it, and then at the end I was going to read the stderr from both wget and the filtering program to determine what, if anything went wrong. Other important things: I was trying to avoid writing the wget'd data to a file, then filtering that file to another file, then reading the output. It's key that I be able to see what went wrong, not just reading $? 8 (i.e. I have to tell the user, hey, that IP address is wrong, or isn't the right kind of website, or whatever). Finally, I'm choosing system/open3/exec over other perl-isms (i.e. backticks) because some of the input is provided by untrustworthy users.

The specs of the CentOS 5.7 VPS are 2GB DDR3 ECC RAM(4GB burst), 1 core 1.5Ghz(3Ghz burst) and 100GB RAID 10 storage, unmetered bandwidth @ 100Mpbs all for a whopping $25/month(unbeatable, yeah i know :) Anyways i have followed this LEMP(will also need MySQL and PHP) stack guide on linode http://library.linode.com/lemp-guides/centos-5 but basically what i want is to be able to host multiple website on this webserver after everything is setup. I am used to using DirectAdmin control panel on other server and want to have things setup so i can host multiple websites...mostly wordpress and drupal themes. Lets say 10 websites on this nginx web server. So can someone please help me on what i need to do to take "full" advantage of nginx power and performance, while been able to easily manage these multiple websites (wordpress and drupal themes)?   Hello, I have a test table. The test table is as follows: CREATE TABLE mytest ( num1 int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, KEY key1 (num1) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1; I inserted 50 million rows in this table. When I do show table status the avg_row_length is 7. I was expecting to see 4 since mySQL uses 4 bytes for integers. Does the key have an effect on the avg_row_length? • Application crashing on getting updated information from database using timer and storing it on loca

  In our multi - user application we are continuously interacting with database. We have a common class through which we are sending POST queries to database and obtaining xml files in return. We are using delegates of NSXMLParser to parse the obtained file. The problem with us is we are facing many crashes in it generally when application is idle and changed data in database is being fetched in background through timer which is invoked after every few seconds. We have also dealt with error handling through try and catch but it proves to be of no use in this case and mostly application crashes with following error : Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000020 Strange thing is that many times the fetching of updated data at background works very fine, same methods being successfully executed under similar conditions but suddenly it crashes on one of them.   Hi, I have a byte array of around 10,000 bytes which is basically a blob from delphi that contains char, string, double and arrays of various types. This need to be read in and updated via C#. I've created a very basic reader that gets the byte array from the db and converts the bytes to the relevant object type when accessing the property which works fine. My problem is when I try to write to a specific char[] item, it doesn't seem to update the byte array. I know a possible solution is to use a private variable called _usercaplas that I set and update as needed however as the byte array is nearly 10,000 bytes in length the class is already long and I would like a simpler approach as to reduce the overall code length and complexity. • DB2 load partitioned data in parallel

  I have a 10-node DB2 9.5 database, with raw data on each machine (ie node1:/scratch/data/dataset.1 node2:/scratch/data/dataset.2 ... node10:/scratch/data/dataset.10 There is no shared NFS mount - none of my machines could handle all of the datasets combined. each line of a dataset file is a long string of text, column delimited. The first column is the key. I don't know the hash function that DB2 will use, so dataset is not pre-partitioned. Short of renaming all of my files, is there any way to get DB2 to load them all in parallel? I'm trying to do something like load from '/scratch/data/dataset' of del modified by coldel| fastparse messages /dev/null replace into TESTDB.data_table part_file_location '/scratch/data'; but I have no idea how to suggest to db2 that it should look for dataset.1 on the first node, etc.
