  • How to close all, or only some, tabs in Safari using AppleScript?

    I have made a very simple AppleScript to close all tabs in Safari. The problem is, it works, but not completely. The problem is that only a couple of tabs are closed. Here's the code: tell application "Safari" repeat with aWindow in windows repeat with aTab in tabs of aWindow if [some condition is encountered] then aTab close end if end repeat end repeat end tell I've also tried this script: tell application "Safari" repeat with i from 0 to the number of items in windows set aWindow to item i of windows repeat with j from 0 to the number of tabs in aWindow set aTab to item j of tabs of aWindow if [some condition is encountered] then aTab close end if end repeat end repeat end tell ... but it does not work either (same behavior). I tried that on my system (MacBook Pro jan 2008), as well as on a Mac Pro G5 under Tiger and the script fails on both, albeit with a much less descriptive error on Tiger. Running the script a few times closes a few tab each time until none is left, but always fails with the same error after closing a few tabs. Under Leopard I get an out of bounds error. Since I am using fast enumeration (not using "repeat from 0 to number of items in windows") I don't see how I can get an out of bounds error with this... My goal is to use the Cocoa Scripting Bridge to close tabs in Safari from my Objective-C Cocoa application but the Scripting Bridge fails in the same manner. The non-deletable tabs show as NULL in the Xcode debugger, while the other tabs are valid objects from which I can get values back (such as their title). In fact I tried with the Scripting Bridge first then told myself why not try this directly in AppleScript and I was surprised to see the same results. I must have a glaring omission or something in there... (seems like a bug in Safari AppleScript support to me... :S) I've used repeat loops and Obj-C 2.0 fast enumeration to iterate through collections before with zero problems, so I really don't see what's wrong here.   • Core data fetch only returns unique managed objects

    I execute a core data fetch which specifies a predicate as follows: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"identifier IN %@", favoritesIDs]; When there are duplicate items in the favoriteIDs array, the fetch request only returns 1 managed object. How can I ensure that more than one instance is fetched? Thank you.

  • Global NSMutableArray doesn't seem to be holding values

    I have a Cocos2D iPhone application that requires a set of CGRects overlaid on an image to detect touches within them. "Data" below is a class that holds values parsed from an XML file. "delegateEntries" is a NSMutableArray that contains several "data" objects, pulled from another NSMutableArray called "entries" that lives in the application delegate. For some strange reason, I can get at these values without problems in the init function, but further down the class in question, I try to get at these values, and the application crashes without an error message (as an example, I put in the "ccTouchBegan" method which accessess this data through the "populateFieldsForTouchedItem" method. Can anyone see why these values would not be accessible from other methods? No objects get released until dealloc.   • Android - How to prevent the phone screen from turning on when volume or camera key is pressed?

    I have an activity that shows up when the phone screen goes to sleep/turns off ie turns black. For some reason, the phone turns on when the volume buttons or the camera buttons are pressed. By turns on, I mean the screen wakes up or comes back from the black screen state. I've tried using dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) and the buttons are disabled on the activity, but they still wake up the phone.

I would like to iterate over these as if they were one sequence: i for i in tuple(my_generator) + (my_value,) The problem is, as far as I undestand, this creates 3 tuples only to immediately discard them and also copies items in "my_generator" once. Better approch would be: def con(seq, item): for i in seq: yield seq yield item i for i in con(my_generator, my_value) But I was wondering whether it is possible to do it without that function definition

    I'm playing around with URL schemes in my app. I easily made one to open my app, just adding the necessary items to info.plist. This current URL "myappname://" takes the user to the initial view controller, FirstTableViewController, but I was wondering if it would be possible to modify that URL scheme so it I can have one that takes the user to a certain view controller, such as ThirdTableViewController. I would use this as a handy feature in something like Launch Center.

I then checked .RData and found that it had not been modified in a few weeks even though I repeatedly saved the workspace image. How often is .RData updated and how can I change when .RData is updated so that it reflects more recent changes?
