  • HTML.CheckBox persisting state after POST - Refresh ModelState?

    I have a form that's made up of many items (think order items on an amazon order). Each row has a checkbox associated with them so the user can select many items and click 'remove'. The form is built up a bit like this; <% for (int i = 0; i < Model.OrderItems.Count; i++) { %> <tr> <td><%= Html.Hidden(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Id", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Id)%> <%= Html.CheckBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Checked", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Checked)%></td> <td><%= Html.TextBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Name", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Name)%></td> <td><%= Html.TextBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Cost", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Cost)%></td> <td><%= Html.TextBox(String.Format("OrderItems[{0}].Quantity", i), Model.OrderItems[i].Quantity)%></td> </tr> <% } %> The model binder does its magic just fine and the list is correctly populated. However, after I process the request in the action (e.g. remove the appropriate items) and return a new view containing fewer items, the state of the form is 'semi' persisted. Some check boxes remain checked, even though in the edit model all the bools are set to false. I don't have this problem if I return a RedirectToActionResult, but using that as a solution seems a bit of a hacky work around. I think I need to flush/refresh the ModelState, or something similiar, but I'm unsure of the terms to search for to find out how.

  • Reflection to access advanced telephony features

    I am trying to use reflection to access some advanced features of the telephony api not published. Currently I am having trouble instantiating a serviceManager object that is needed to get the "phone" service as a binder which I can then use to instantiate a telephony object which is needed to make a call, end call, etc... currently when I make the call serviceManagerObject = tempInterfaceMethod.invoke(null, new Object[] { new Binder() }); it returns a nullPointerException.     Hi, I am working on an ASP.NET web app using Visual Studio 2008 and a third-party library. Things are fine in my development environment. Things are also good if the web app is deployed in Debug configuration. However, when it is deployed in Release mode, SerializationExceptions appear intermittently, breaking other functionality.     Hi. I am trying to make some alarms after the user selects something with a time from a list and create a notification for it at the given time. My problem is that the "showname" that a putExtra on my Intent cant be received at the broadcast receiver. It always get null value. This is the way I do it for most of my intents but I think this time maybe because of the pendingIntent or the broadcastReceiver something need to be done differentelly.   • With Eclipselink/JPA, can I have a Foreign Composite Key that shares a field with a Primary Composit

    My database has two entities; Company and Person. A Company can have many People, but a Person must have only one Company. The table structure looks as follows. COMPANY ---------- owner PK comp_id PK c_name PERSON ---------------- owner PK, FK1 personid PK comp_id FK1 p_fname p_sname It has occurred to me that I could remove PERSON.OWNER and derive it through the foreign key; however, I can't make this change without affecting legacy code. I have modeled these as JPA-annotated classes; @Entity @Table(name = "PERSON") @IdClass(PersonPK.class) public class Person implements Serializable { @Id private String owner; @Id private String personid; @ManyToOne @JoinColumns( {@JoinColumn(name = "owner", referencedColumnName = "OWNER", insertable = false, updatable = false), @JoinColumn(name = "comp_id", referencedColumnName = "COMP_ID", insertable = true, updatable = true)}) private Company company; private String p_fname; private String p_sname; ...and standard getters/setters... } @Entity @Table(name = "COMPANY") @IdClass(CompanyPK.class) public class Company implements Serializable { @Id private String owner; @Id private String comp_id; private String c_name; @OneToMany(mappedBy = "company", cascade=CascadeType.ALL) private List people; ...and standard getters/setters... } My PersonPK and CompanyPK classes are nothing special, they just serve as a struct holding owner and the ID field, and override hashCode and equals(o). So far so good. I come across a problem, however, when trying to deal with associations. It seems if I have an existing Company, and create a Person, and associate to the Person to the Company and persist the company, the association is not saved when the Person is inserted. For example, my main code looks like this: EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager(); em.getTransaction().begin(); CompanyPK companyPK = new CompanyPK(); companyPK.owner="USA"; companyPK.comp_id="1102F3"; Company company = em.find(Company.class, companyPK); Person person = new Person(); person.setOwner("USA"); person.setPersonid("5116628123"); //some number that doesn't exist yet person.setP_fname("Hannah"); person.setP_sname("Montana"); person.setCompany(company); em.persist(person); This completes without error; however in the database I find that the Person record was inserted with a null in the COMP_ID field. With EclipseLink debug logging set to FINE, the SQL query is shown as: INSERT INTO PERSON (PERSONID,OWNER,P_SNAME,P_FNAME) VALUES (?,?,?,?) bind = [5116628123,USA,Montana,Hannah,] I would have expected this to be saved, and the query to be equivalent to INSERT INTO PERSON (PERSONID,OWNER,COMP_ID,P_SNAME,P_FNAME) VALUES (?,?,?,?,?) bind = [5116628123,USA,1102F3,Montana,Hannah,] What gives? Is it incorrect to say updatable/insertable=true for one half of a composite key and =false for the other half? If I have updatable/insertable=true for both parts of the foreign key, then Eclipselink fails to startup saying that I can not use the column twice without having one set to readonly by specifying these options.

  • How to either return JSON or RedirectToAction?

    I have an Action Method that I'd either like to return JSON from on one condition or redirect on another condition. I thought that I could do this by returning ActionResult from my method but doing this causes the error "not all code paths return a value" Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or how to achieve the desired result?     Hi all, I am getting an infuriating EXC_BAD_ACCESS error in an objective c app I am working on. Any help you could offer would be much appreciated. I have tried the normal debug methods for this error (turning on NSZombieEnabled, checking retain/release/autorelease to make sure I'm not trying to access a deallocated object, etc.) and it hasn't seemed to help. If I change the length of CFRangeMake from 1 to 0, it takes a lot longer for the program to crash, but still eventually does. (I don't think I am trying to access beyond the bounds of attString, but am I missing something?) When it crashes, I get something similar to: #0 0x942c7ed7 in objc_msgSend () #1 0x00000013 in ??   • Character encoding issues when generating MD5 hash cross-platform

    This is a general question about character encoding when using MD5 libraries in various languages. My concern is: suppose I generate an MD5 hash using a native Python string object, like this: message = "hello world" m = md5() m.update(message) Then I take a hex version of that MD5 hash using: m.hexdigest() and send the message & MD5 hash via a network, let's say, a JMS message or a HTTP request. Now I get this message in a Java program in the form of a native Java string, along with the checksum. Then I generate an MD5 hash using Java, like this (using the Commons Codec library): String md5 = org.apache.commons.codec.digest.DigestUtils.DigestUtils.md5Hex(s) My feeling is that this is wrong because I have not specified character encodng at either end. So the original hash will be based on the bytes of the Python version of the string; the Java one will be based on the bytes of the Java version of the string , these two byte sequences will often not be the same - is that right? So really I need to specify "UTF-8" or whatever at both ends right? (I am actually getting an intermittent error in my code where the MD5 checksum fails, and I suspect this is the reason - but because it's intermittent, it's difficult to say if changing this fixes it or not. ) Thank you!

It feels like something in ASP.NET is overriding my model values from updating the text boxes and they are just displaying the same old values. I found this issue while trying to learn EditorFor with an IEnumerable.

    I'm in the process of writing a C# wrapper for Dallmeier Common API light (Camera & Surviellance systems) and I've never written a wrapper before, but I have used the Canon EDSDK C# wrapper. So I'm using the Canon wrapper as a guide to writing the Dallmeier wrapper. I'm currently having issues with wrapping a callback.     I need to generate a GUID and save it via a string representation. The string representation should be as short as possible as it will be used as part of an already-long URL string. Right now, instead of using the normal abcd-efgh-... representation, I use the raw bytes generated and base64-encode them instead, which results in a somewhat shorter string. But is it possible to make it even shorter? I'm OK with losing some degree of uniqueness and keeping a counter, but scanning all existing keys is not an option. Suggestions?

I Run the application and it sent the email with no errors. But, when I created the jar, and executed it, it fails in the email sending part. I don't know very much about the possible results or changes when creating a jar. Could the JavaMail libraries someway go wrong when the jar is created? Do you have any ideas?     So here's my situation. I am working on an editor for a communications channel that works over an RS232 serial ASCII terminal. Let's not go into detail for that ;-) To simplify, I need a textbox on a WPF control that can take in text like "Commit\r\n" (which is the .net string "Commit\r\n") and convert it back to "Commit\r\n" as a .net string. I was hoping for a string.Unescape() and string.Escape() method pair, but it doesn't seem to exist. Am I going to have to write my own? or is there a more simple way to do this?

Solution I tried: (Swaping of To and From values) String Temp_From = ((object[])docInbox.GetItemValue("From"))[0] as String; String Temp_SendTo = ((object[])docInbox.GetItemValue("SendTo"))[0] as String; docInbox.ReplaceItemValue("From", Temp_SendTo); docInbox.ReplaceItemValue("SendTo", Temp_From); docInbox.Save(true, false, false); /* Applied for following fields also: For From: AltFrom,DisplayFrom,DisplayFrom_2,dspFrom,ForwardedFrom,INetFrom,tmpDisplayFrom For To : displaySendTo,EnterSendTo,Envelope_to,tmpDisplaySendTo Also Tried for saving : docInbox.Save(true, true, true); */ In above code after successful editing changes values are not reflected in Nsf File. But when i am reading edited Nsf (copying modified file on different location ) file programatically it is showing changed values.(Why changes are not visible here ?)
