• FancyBox Callback Keydown

  I have been working on this code, and I can't seem to figure it out. Fancybox's callbacks don't seem to work at all. I have the keyboard bound to the pagination for this gallery. But I want to unbind the keyboard from the table when fancybox opens. When fancybox opens nothing changes.... • Difficulty setting ArrayList to java.sql.Blob to save in DB using hibernate

  I'm trying to save a java ArrayList in a database (H2) by setting it as a blob, for retrieval later. If this is a bad approach, please say - I haven't been able to find much information on this area. I have a column of type Blob in the database, and Hibernate maps to this with java.sql.Blob. The code I'm struggling with is: Drawings drawing = new Drawings(); try { ByteArrayOutputStream bos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); ObjectOutputStream oos = null; oos = new ObjectOutputStream(bos); oos.writeObject(plan.drawingPane21.pointList); byte[] buff = bos.toByteArray(); Blob drawingBlob = null; drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); drawing.setDrawingObject(drawingBlob); } catch (Exception e){ System.err.println(e); } The object I'm trying to save into a blob (plan.drawingPane21.pointList) is of type ArrayList<DrawingDot>, DrawingDot being a custom class implementing Serializable. My code is failing on the line drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); with a NullPointerException. Help appreciated.

  I would like to setup a fault-tolerant web-service. I will build the web-service with Erlang/OTP. At the beginning the web-service will be hosted on a few VPS. Each VPS has its own IP-address, and I can use more if IPs if I need. I would like to have the domain name pointing to a single IP-address. How can setup my Erlang/OTP-application to be fault-tolerant behind a single IP-address? Do I need to use VLAN? Is there a way my Erlang/OTP-application can use heartbeats and handle virtual IP-addresses to route the traffic? or how should I solve this problem?

• Webservice returning 403 error

  I'm wondering whether I'm receiving the 403 errors because there are too many attempted connections being made to the webservice. If this is the case how do I get around it? I've tried creating a new instance of InternalWebService each time and disposing of the old one but I get the same problem. I've disabled the firewall and the webservice is located locally at the moment. I beginning to think it may be a problem with the credentials but the control tree is populated via the webservice at some stage. If I browse to the webmethods in my browser I can run them all.   I'm creating an online game where people log in and then have the list of current players displayed. When the user enters a "room" it dispatches an SFSEvent which includes a Room object with the list of users as User objects in that room. As that event's callback function, I get the list of current users which is an Array, switch the View Stack child index, and then I wrap the user list array in an ArrayList before I assign it to the MXML Spark List component's dataSource. • Cisco ASA: Allowing and Denying VPN Access based on membership to an AD group

  I have a Cisco ASA 5505 connecting to an Active Directory server for VPN authentication. Usually we'd restrict this to a particular OU, but in this case users which need access are spread across multiple OUs. So, I'd like to use a group to specify which users have remote access. I've created the group and added the users, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to deny users which aren't in that group. Right now, if someone connects they get assigned the correct group policy "companynamera" if they are in that group, so the LDAP mapping is working. However, users who are not in that group still authenticate fine, and their group policy becomes the LDAP path of their first group, i.e. CN=Domain Users,CN=Users,DC=example,DC=com, and then are still allowed access. How do I add a filter so that I can map everything that isn't "companynamera" to no access?   I've been led to believe that casting can, in certain circumstances, become a measurable hindrance on performance. This may be moreso the case when we start dealing with incoherent webs of nasty exception throwing\catching. Given that I wish to create more correct heuristics when it comes to programming, I've been prompted to ask this question to the .NET gurus out there: Is interface casting faster than class casting? • can't write to physical drive in win 7??

  I wrote a disk utility that allowed you to erase whole physical drives. it uses the windows file api, calling : destFile = CreateFile("\\.\PhysicalDrive1", GENERIC_WRITE, FILE_SHARE_READ | FILE_SHARE_WRITE, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING,createflags, NULL); and then just calling WriteFile, and making sure you write in multiples of sectors, i.e. 512 bytes. this worked fine in the past, on XP, and even on the Win7 RC, all you have to do is make sure you are running it as an administrator. but now I have retail Win7 professional, it doesn't work anymore! the drives still open fine for writing, but calling WriteFile on the successfully opened Drive now fails! does anyone know why this might be? could it have something to do with opening it with shared flags? this is always what I have done before, and its worked. could it be that something is now sharing the drive? blocking the writes? is there some way to properly "unmount" A drive, or atleast the partitions on it so that I would have exclusive access to it? some other tools that used to work don't any more either, but some do, like the WD Diagnostic's erase functionality. and after it has erased the drive, my tool then works on it too! leading me to belive there is some "unmount" process I need to be doing to the drive first, to free up permission to write to it. Any ideas?

• Way to turn on keyboard's caps-lock light without actually turning on caps-lock?

  I'm writing a program that uses caps-lock as a toggle switch. It would be nice to set the LED of the key to show that my program is on or off, like the capslock key does naturally. I know that I could just SendInput('Capslock'); or whatever to actually turn caps-lock on and off. But my app is a typing program, and I don't want to have to deal with translating the all-caps keys that turning it on would give me into their lower/upper cases. I might go that route eventually, but not for this version. I would however be interested in just turning on the LED light WITHOUT actually turning on caps-lock. Is there any way to do that? • Why does calling abort() on ajax request cause error in ASP.Net MVC (IE8)

  I use jquery to post to an MVC controller action that returns a table of information. The user of the page triggers this by clicking on various links. In the event the user decides to click a bunch of these links in quick succession I wanted to cancel any previous ajax request that may not have finished. I've found that when I do this (although its fine from the client's POV) I will get errors on the web application saying that "The parameters dictionary contains a null entry for parameter srtCol of non-nullable type 'System.Int32'" Now the ajax post deffinately passes in all the parameters, and if I don't try and cancel the ajax request it works just fine. But if I do cancel the request by calling abort() on the XMLHttpRequest object that ajax() returns before it finishes I get the error from ASP.Net MVC. Example: //Cancel any pevious request if (req) { req.abort(); req = null; } //Make new request req= $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: "/Myapp/GetTbl", data: {srtCol: srt, view: viewID}, success: OnSuccess, error: OnError, dataType: "html" }); I've noticed this only happen is IE8. I am positive that the target never sees a packet, because I see nothing by SYN_SENT. I know the problem is on my client, because the target is servicing multiple systems, none of which are CentOS 6.2. At this point I am pretty confident that some things changed between CentOS 6.0/6.1 and 6.2. So, if anyone have any thoughts, or ran into this, I would very much like to hear your thoughts. I went a few weeks back and grabbed a snapshot of this system from before upgrading to 6.2. I spun up a new system from the snapshot, and reconfigured interface info and host keys, as well as iSCSI initiator and iscsi interface info to match new MACs. Changed nothing else. Then, I attempted to connect to my targets, and no issues at all. I cannot say that this was unexpected. I then went ahead and compared sysctl settings from both systems and there were differences after the upgrade, but nothing seemingly relevant to iSCSI or IP that could contribute to this. I also noticed that by default now two sessions per connection were enabled after the upgrade, but I changed it back to 1 session in /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf. On the problematic system we can see that source interface is seemingly wrong, but even when I disable the 10.10.100 interface, problems persist. So, while this may be relevant, I could not validate it for certain. Needless to say, further research is necessary. Something is clearly different between releases. It is quite obscure and I doubt this will happen to anyone else any time soon. It turns out that setting iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress in the interfaces configuration file is not legal. When one manually adds an iscsi target, such as below, all settings from the interface config file are copied into the node config file, that gets created by the below command. Result is parameters iface.iscsi_ifacename and iface.hwaddress together in the same config file. These parameters are seemingly mutually exclusive, which does not exactly make sense, or there is perhaps an oversight in the codepath. • problem getting info from a cookie with javascript

  I am having an issue with my cookies and I can't figure it out. Basically I have it set up so it checks for the cookie to see if the user is logged in, and then displays either a welcome message or a login link. It works - except that instead of returning the persons name in the welcome message it just is blank where the name should be. • URL Routing with WebForms, what to do with additional querystrings like page number, filter, etc?

  I am switching from Intelligencia's UrlRewriter to the new web forms routing in ASP.NET 4.0. I have it working great for basic pages, however, in my e-commerce site, when browsing category pages, I previously used querystrings that were built into my pager control to control paging. An old url (with UrlRewriting) would be: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17 I have a MapPageRoute defined in global.asax as: routes.MapPageRoute("category-browse", "Category/{name}_{id}", ~/CategoryPage.aspx"); This works great. Now, somebody clicks to go to page 2. Previously I would have just tacked on ?page=2 as the querystring. Now, How do I handle this using web forms routing? I know I can do something like: http://www.mysite.com/Category/Arts-and-Crafts_17/page/2 But in addition to page, I can have filters, age ranges, gender, etc. Should I just keep defining routes that handle these variables, or should I continue using querystrings and can I define a route that allows me to use my querstrings like before?

• Using ServletOutputStream to write very large files in a Java servlet without memory issues

  I am using IBM Websphere Application Server v6 and Java 1.4 and am trying to write large CSV files to the ServletOutputStream for a user to download. Files are ranging from a 50-750MB at the moment. The smaller files aren't causing too much of a problem but with the larger files it appears that it is being written into the heap which is then causing an OutOfMemory error and bringing down the entire server. These files can only be served out to authenticated users over https which is why I am serving them through a Servlet instead of just sticking them in Apache. What I am thinking is that the resp.getOutputStream().write is being stored in memory until the data can be sent through to the client. So the entire file might be read and stored in the resp.getOutputStream() causing my memory issues and crashing! I have tried Buffering these streams and also tried using Channels from java.nio, none of which seems to make any bit of difference to my memory issues. I have also flushed the outputstream once per iteration of the loop and after the loop, which didn't help.

  I have only just started with XCode (v3.2.2) and Interface Builder and have run into a problem. This is displayed correctly in the NSTableView when I run the application. However when I add another element to the array (of same type as in init) and try to call [idTableView reloadData] on the View nothing happens. In fact the Model idTableView is null. When printing the variable with NSLog(@"idTableView: %@", idTableView) I get "idTableView: (null)" Im runing out of ideas how to fix this. Any ideas to what I could do to fix the binding?

• How to specify selector when CAKeyframeAnimation is finished?

  I'm using a CAKeyframeAnimation to animate a view along a CGPath. When the animation is done, I'd like to be able to call some other method to perform another action. Is there a good way to do this? I've looked at using UIView's setAnimationDidStopSelector:, however from the docs this looks like it only applies when used within a UIView animation block (beginAnimations and commitAnimations). I also gave it a try just in case, but it doesn't seem to work. Now when we do a delete it would crash, AS EXPECTED, since it is not trying to delete a heap memory. Is there a way to know where the pointer is pointing to heap or stack? By this the programmer Will not try to delete any stack memory He can investigate why does this ponter, that was pointing to a heap memory initially, is made to refer local literals? What happened to the heap memory in the middle? Is it being made to point by another pointer and delete elsewhere and all that?
