• Is there a way to "lock" the viewport in vim?

  I recently started using Vim with NERDTree. The annoying thing is when I close the buffer, NERDTree expands to fill the rest of the screen, and I have to open another file and reopen NERDTree to get it back to the old layout. Is there a way to "lock" NERDTree in place? Ideally, closing a buffer would replace it with another buffer that's hidden, or open a new blank buffer if no other buffers are open. Thanks!

• Thunderbird: where have the folder view switching arrows gone?

  The folder pane in Thunderbird used to have a left and right arrow that allowed switching between the folders displayed. However, since a week or so, the arrows are gone (update? miss-clicked something?) As I use them several times a day: how can I get the arrows back? I have Thunderbird 8.0. Note: I know, switching is also accessible via the menu bar View Folders, but this is too much clicks for me.

  Way back from Windows 3.x days to the latest 64bit Windows 7 (classic/standard theme).. there is a way to make the window edge border wider then 1 pixel... I often use 3 to 5 pixel to make it easy to grab on hi-resolutions displays and hi DPI monitors. There doesn't seem to be an easy or obvious way to do this with the Gnome X-Windowing system? Does any one know how?

• Uploading User Made Videos to iPhone (from Vista)

  Once a user downloads a video created with the iPhone 3GS and then deletes it from the iPhone, that video cannot be uploaded back to the iPhone...according to Apple. The videos are not treated as Photos and are not allowed to sync to and from the iPhone freely. Has anyone discovered a program or tweek that allows one to upload video to the iPhone? Thanks.

I got locked out of my server a few times due to the enhanced security configuration I had done and when I contacted my server management company, they said both times that they flushed the firewall and I was allowed back in. It shows me the new email twice when notifying because it appears in both the inbox and All Mail folders. • Computer wakes up from hibernation at exctly 3:40am every day

  I'm getting tired of waking up to my computer being turned on, and event log shows that it's waking up everyday at 3:40am and most times won't go back to sleep after the determined 30 minutes (maybe from being in the lock screen?). There are no devices armed for wake, activation timers are disabled and all wake options disabled in the BIOS and energy star 4.0c is enabled (was disabled before but no difference).

  The clients can all connect through OpenVPN. OpenVPN serves the following pool: server 10.8.0.0 255.255.255.0 I've configured the server's iptable with the following rule: iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.8.0.0/24 -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE and echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward This used to work back on the old vps I used. Now I've migrated to a vps which has ipv6 connectivity. Is it possible that Ipv6 has something to do with the fact that the clients can't reach the internet?

• Moving a game in windowed mode that can't be dragged by the title bar.

When I change the mode to windowed via the .ini file, however, it boots the game window shoved into the upper left corner of my screen. • How do I prevent a curve snapping to a straight line in Flash CS4?

  I am trying to do some vector drawing in Flash but am having trouble when "curving" lines. At the moment, unless the curve is significant, it snaps back to a straight line meaning I am finding it impossible to draw shallow curves. Any idea how to turn this snapping off? I have tried turning everything off in View Snapping and it makes no difference.

  I need to reinstall Windows 7 but the problem is that all my partitions are set to Dynamic disk type.Windows cannot install on Dynamic disc type partitions.During the installation process there is an option to format the drive but I cannot change the disc type.Is there any way to convert the partitions back into primary so that I can re-install Windows?I am a complete fool.I don't even know why I converted the partition in which Windows was installed into dynamic type. I have copied the contents of the "Snapshots" folder to an alternate drive, but whenever I go into the General / Advanced settings section for that virtual machine and change the snapshot folder to the new location it resets back to the original location. And how can I get 1GB of RAM back?
