    I am using the following functions for writing and reading 4098 floating point numbers in MATLAB: Writing: fid = fopen(completepath, 'w'); fprintf(fid, '%1.30f\r\n', y) Reading: data = textread(completepath, '%f', 4098); where y contains 4098 numbers. I now want to write and read 3 strings at the end of this data. How do I read two different datatypes? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

  • Mixing RewriteRule and ProxyPass in Apache

    I was working on debugging an issue today related to mixing mod_proxy and mod_rewrite together and I ended up having to use balancer://mycluster in the RewriteRule in order to stop receiving a 404 error from Apache. I have two questions: 1) Is there any other way to get the rewritten URL to go through the balancer without adding balancer://mycluster into the RewriteRule? 2) Is there a way to define all the parameters I defined in ProxyPass (stickysession=JSESSIONID|jsessionid scolonpathdelim=On lbmethod=bytraffic nofailover=Off) in either the <Proxy> or RewriteRule? I'm concerned the requests that match the new RewriteRule won't load balance in the same fashion as those that go through ProxyPass (like /app1/something.do)? Below are the relevant sections of the httpd.conf.   • Parsing JSON file with Python -> google map api

    Hi all, I am trying to get started with JSON in Python, but it seems that I misunderstand something in the JSON concept. I followed the google api example, which works fine. But when I change the code to a lower level in the JSON response (as shown below, where I try to get access to the location), I get the following error message for code below: Traceback (most recent call last): File "geoCode.py", line 11, in test = json.dumps([s['location'] for s in jsonResponse['results']], indent=3) KeyError: 'location' How can I get access to lower information level in the JSON file in python? Do I have to go to a higher level and search the result string? That seems very weird to me?   • How to align MDIChild on left?

    Hi, I am trying hard to align MDIChild form to the left of the parent MDIForm setting Align:=alLeft at design time. Aparently aligned MDIChild is higher than parents client area (I do not know why), thats why vertical scrollbar appears on parent form. The problem is, that I want this form create dynamicaly; putting vertical Splitter between these MDIchild forms, in order to size them by mouse. But when I create Splitter it aligns itself totaly on the left, as if MDIChild form was not aligned (alLeft) at all. I set MDIChild parameters to: Align:=alLeft; Windowstate:=wsNormal; Borderstyle:=bsSizable; Does anybody solved this problem before? thanx a lot P.S Delphi 7, Win XP

    Hi Guys I'm creating an online music store application (in Java) for signed and unsigned artist for my client. I'm currently using Struts 1.3.10 (I was recommended Spring but Spring setup is sort of similar to Struts) for my Web application. My Database is currently a MySQL 5 (or higher) and I'm using a DAO pattern to talk to it. There are limitations to using Struts and DAO's (e.g. Multiple File upload in Struts is not implemented the same way as multiple String parameters, and for DAO's, there lacks a Publish-Subscribe feature). Is what I'm doing the best way forward or should I go straight Hibernate (or similar) and move out of Struts? What are the performance implications or technical issues that you've experienced with the same setup I have? The client doesn't care how I do it as long as it is done.

  • Can you decode a mutable Bitmap from an InputStream?

    Right now I've got an Android application that: Downloads an image. Does some pre-processing to that image. Displays the image. The dilemma is that I would like this process to use less memory, so that I can afford to download a higher-resolution image. However, when I download the image now, I use BitmapFactory.decodeStream(), which has the unfortunate side effect of returning an immutable Bitmap. As a result, I'm having to create a copy of the Bitmap before I can start operating on it, which means I have to have 2x the size of the Bitmap's memory allocated (at least for a brief period of time; once the copy is complete I can recycle the original). Is there a way to decode an InputStream into a mutable Bitmap?

    I have a schedule (Voyages) table like this: ID Arrival Departure OrderIndex 1 01/01/1753 02/10/2009 0 1 02/11/2009 02/15/2009 1 1 02/16/2009 02/19/2009 2 1 02/21/2009 01/01/1753 3 2 01/01/1753 03/01/2009 0 2 03/04/2009 03/07/2009 1 2 03/09/2009 01/01/1753 2 By design i save '01/01/1753' as a default value if the user doesn't fill a the field on the capture screen and for the very first Arrival and the very last Departure which are never provided. Im using Nhibernate and Criteria, and im wondering whats the best way to query this data if i want to know the First departure and last arrival for each voyage in the table. My first thought was a groupby (ID) and then do some Min and Max with the arrival and departure but the `'01/01/1753' VALUE is messing aronud. ... .SetProjection(Projections.ProjectionList() .Add(Projections.GroupProperty("ID"), "ID") .Add(Projections.Min("DepartureDate"), "DepartureDate") .Add(Projections.Max("ArrivalDate"), "ArrivalDate") ) ... So is there a way to skip this value in the Min function comparison (without losing the whole row of data), or there is a better way to do this, maybe utilizing the OrderIndex that always indicate the correct order of the elements, maybe ordering ASC taking the 1st and then Order DESC and taking the 1 st again, but im not quite sure how to do that with criteria syntax.

  • Addressing "Access Denied" Exception with WMI Calls

    I'm getting an exception with a message of "Access Denied" when executing against a WMI request. Some WMI requests appear to require higher security privileges than others. Ultimately my goal is to monitor process launches within the system and log. Regardless if there is a better approach, its now become a vendetta in getting this WMI approach to work. I've attempted the code at Security Tools - WMI Programming Using C#.Net and still receive the exception. If you copy the code found in the blog entry you can reproduce my issue. Another post on a similar topic can be found at link text but again, try the code and you'll the see the same security exception. How do I permit my code to execute these WMI requests? I'm running on Windows 7 Pro and VS 2010 in a new C# command line project.

    I have a Ruby on Rails app that I've recently deployed to a remote server (Ubuntu 9.10, nginx, passenger, ruby-enterprise) and I'm getting the error (works fine locally): Permission denied - /var/www/project_name/tmp/.ruby_inline/Inline_ImageScience_cdab.c First, the folder /tmp/.ruby_inline/ is empty - should it be? Is it trying to create Inline_ImageScience_cdab.c or read it? I think I have all the required gems installed: 'gem list' shows image_science and RubyInline installed. libfreeimage3 and libfreeimage-dev are also installed. I've run chmod 755 on /tmp/.ruby_inline/ to match the permissions on surrounding folders but I cannot go any higher than that, however, or I get another error: /var/www/project_name/tmp/.ruby_inline is insecure (40777). It may not be group or world writable. Exiting. And I guess second, why am I getting this error? :) Thanks

    Hello, I'm writing a MIDlet using the Kuix UI toolkit, and I want to make changes to the toolkit depending on whether the current device is a touch screen device. (These changes include making buttons bigger, for easier tapping.) Is there a way to detect whether the device has a touch screen using J2ME (MIDP 2)? [edit] as a (crappy) workaround I check for the screen height instead. A screen width a height of higher than 240 is likely a touch screen... Please let me know if there are any more effective ways.

  • why do i see THROW in a C library

    When I do: less /usr/include/stdio.h (which is only a C library - nothing to do with C++) I see __THROW after quite a few function declarations. Also, comments above a few functions say that 'This function is a possible cancellation point and therefore not marked with __THROW' What is all this for? THROW is meant to be for exception handling.. but as far as I know, C doesn't provide any support for it... Plz explain.

  • PHP Mcrypt - Encrypting / Decrypting file

    Trying to write a couple of functions that will encrypt or decrypt a file and am using the class found here to try and accomplish this: http://www.itnewb.com/v/PHP-Encryption-Decryption-Using-the-MCrypt-Library-libmcrypt The encryption function below seems to work, in that it appears to encrypt the file and place it in the intended directory. I'm trying to decrypt the file now, and it just dies with the message "Failed to complete decryption" (which is coded in there...) There's nothing in the php error logs, so I'm not sure why it's failing, but as mcrypt is entirely new to me, I'm more than inclined to believe I'm doing something wrong here...     I'm writing a document-based client application and I need a DOM or WPF-like, but non-visual model that: Is a tree composed of elements Can accept an unlimited number of custom properties that get/set any CLR type, including collections. Can inherit their values from their parent Can inherit their default values from an ancestor Can be derived/calculated from other properties, ancestors, or descendants Support event bubbling / tunneling There will be a core set of properties but other plugins may add their own or even create custom documents Supports full inspection by the owning document in order to persist the tree and attributes in an XML format. I realize that's a tall order but I was really hoping there would be something out there to help me get started. Unfortunately WPF DependencyObjects are too closed, proprietary, and coupled to WPF to be of any use as a document model. My needs also have a strong resemblance to the HTML DOM but I haven't been able to find any clean DOM implementations that could be decoupled from HTML or ported to .NET. My current platform is .NET/C# but if anyone knows of anything that might be useful for inspiration or embedding, regardless of the platform, I'd love to know.
