  • Selecting favourites from DB rails 3

    I have a small app which has Users, Recipes, Ingredients and preparation models A user has many recipes, recipes belong to user and ingredients/preparation belongs to recipes. Now a user can view all recipes but I would like the option to add the particular recipe to a favourites list. Would I need to set a new DB to hold this and then link by associations or could I add a column to the recipe model called fav for example? Im looking for the best practice here or if someone has done this before and can offer any advice that would be appreciated

    Hi, I have a graph with custom properties to the vertices and edges. I now want to create a copy of this graph, but I don't want the vertices to be as complex as in the original. By this I mean that it would suffice that the vertices have the same indices (vertex_index_t) as they do in the original graph. Instead of doing the copying by hand I wanted to use the copy-functionality of boost::adjacency_list (s. http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_37_0/libs/graph/doc/adjacency_list.html): template <class EdgeIterator> adjacency_list(EdgeIterator first, EdgeIterator last, vertices_size_type n, edges_size_type m = 0, const GraphProperty& p = GraphProperty()) The description there says: The EdgeIterator must be a model of InputIterator.   • Getting specific data from database

    I have a table called Categorie with a few columns and I'm trying to get only a few out of my database. So I've tried this: $sql = 'SELECT uppercat AS id, COUNT(uppercat) AS uppercat FROM categorie GROUP BY uppercat;'; $d = Yii::app()->db->createCommand($sql)->query(); But I find the output strange. I was trying to do an array_shift but I get an error that this isn't an array. When I do a var_dump on $d: object(CDbDataReader)[38] private '_statement' => object(PDOStatement)[37] public 'queryString' => string 'SELECT uppercat AS id, COUNT(uppercat) AS uppercat FROM categorie GROUP BY uppercat;' (length=100) private '_closed' => boolean false private '_row' => null private '_index' => int -1 private '_e' (CComponent) => null private '_m' (CComponent) => null Ok.. then I did a foreach on $d: array 'id' => string '0' (length=1) 'uppercat' => string '6' (length=1) array 'id' => string '3' (length=1) 'uppercat' => string '2' (length=1) array 'id' => string '6' (length=1) 'uppercat' => string '1' (length=1) array 'id' => string '7' (length=1) 'uppercat' => string '2' (length=1) array 'id' => string '9' (length=1) 'uppercat' => string '2' (length=1) Then why do I get the message that $d isn't an array while it contains arrays? Is there any other way on how to get some specific data out of my database and that I can then do an array_shift on them? I've also tried doing this with findAllBySql but then I can't reach my attribute for COUNT(uppercat) which is not in my model. I guess I'd have to add it to my model but I wouldn't like that because I need it just once.

  • (Solved) ERROR: Packet source 'wlan0' failed to set channel 2: mac80211_setchannel() in Kismet and Ubuntu 12.10

    I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 in my computer with an Atheros AR5007 wireless card. I want to use Kismet but when I run it it starts displaying the message: ERROR: Packet source 'wlan0' failed to set channel X: mac80211_setchannel() It keeps displaying the same for every channel except channel 1. I have installed the compat-wireless-3.6.6-1 drivers and patched them with the following patch in order to use them with aircrack-ng. I have installed the latest version of Kismet in the git repository and I even tried with the svn but it keeps displaying the same error. I also have set the kismet.conf file with the nsource=wlan0 as it is the name of my wireless interface according to iwconfig : lo no wireless extensions. wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:"XXXX" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX Bit Rate=18 Mb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Power Management:off Link Quality=28/70 Signal level=-82 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:282 Missed beacon:0 I haven't found any answer since similar errors are supposed to be fixed with the latest Kismet release but this isn't my case. Building a PC with specific components and installing Mac OS X on it can save you thousands of dollars you might spend on a real Mac. And now, it’s time to step into the portable world. Today we will show how you can turn an HP ProBook (or any compatible Sandy Bridge laptop) into a 95% MacBook Pro! Why should (or shouldn’t) you do it? Let’s clarify whether or not it should be done. Firstly, we all know Apple makes awesome laptops. The design, build quality, and the aesthetics (not to mention, the glowing Apple) would make you crave for one. Secondly, all these Apple laptops are bundled with Mac OS X, which (for some people) is the most user-friendly and annoyance-free operating system. Digital artists, musicians, video editors, they all prefer Mac for a reason.
