  • Gluster bricks are offline and errors in logs

    I have substituted all the IP addresses with hostnames and renamed configs (IP to hostname) in /var/lib/glusterd by my shell script. After that I restarted Gluster Daemon and the volume. Then I checked if all the peers are connected: root@GlusterNode1a:~# gluster peer status Number of Peers: 3 Hostname: gluster-1b Uuid: 47f469e2-907a-4518-b6a4-f44878761fd2 State: Peer in Cluster (Connected) Hostname: gluster-2b Uuid: dc3a3ff7-9e30-44ac-9d15-00f9dab4d8b9 State: Peer in Cluster (Connected) Hostname: gluster-2a Uuid: 72405811-15a0-456b-86bb-1589058ff89b State: Peer in Cluster (Connected) I could see mounted volumes size change on all the nodes when I execute df command, so new data is coming.   • 'pip install carbon' looks like it works, but pip disagrees afterward

    I'm trying to use pip to install the package carbon, a package related to statistics collection. When I run pip install carbon, it looks like everything works. However, pip is unconvinced that the package is actually installed. (This ultimately causes trouble because I'm using Puppet, and have a rule to install carbon using pip, and when puppet asks pip "is this package installed?" it says "no" and it reinstalls it again.) How do I figure out what's preventing pip from recognizing the success of this installation? So I want to install 64 bit Ubuntu 10.10 on my system on another partition (so that I can have both 32 bit and 64 bit versions). Is it okay to install both 32 bit and 64 bit? I mean will it give any problems? On which partition should I install the 64 bit version?   • How to fix Emacs client *ERROR*: Arithmetic error

    GNU Emacs 23.1.1 I've noticed that if I run Emacs and M-x server-start, I can use the emacsclient program as usual, but if if I start Emacs using emacs --daemon and then try to use emacsclient the new frame locks up and the shell outputs *ERROR*: Arithmetic error. This issue doesn't happen if I use the -t flag to force terminal mode when running emacsclient. Has anyone run into this before? Anyone know what's going on and/or how to fix it?

    Hello, I keep getting the "sorry, the maximum allowed clients from your host (10) are already connected" error whenever I try to transfer a large number of files. At first I thought it's a filezilla bug, however I get the same error basically with every FTP client I've tried, including Total Commander under Wine. I do not get that error using Windows. I did try to limit maximum allowed connections for Filezilla, both in server settings and in global settings, it didnt change anything. I did try to switch between passive and active modes (not sure if it's related at all, just last desperate attempt), and it didnt change anything either. When I try to use native ftp client (not sure how is it called, the one in Places - Connect to a server) I get abstract "connection refused" error every time I transfer large number of files. Connection is refused for separate particular files, if I click "Ignore" each time the rest of files are transfered perfectly well, so I assume it's the very same error. Anything I could do? This really drives me mad, transfering large numbers of files is a part of my everyday job... P.S. and this happens with many different FTP servers. Also I dont get this error in Windows. So I assume it's not a server problem. P.P.S. I am aware of similar question here, the answer provided just didn't solve it to me.

    I have set up a local domain on my Apache server. Then I added the following line in my /etc/hosts file ::1 exampledomain.local After I trying to navigate to it, (I tried Firefox and Chromium) I got a server not found error. Then I tried ping6 and it worked: dan@danny:~$ ping6 exampledomain.local PING exampledomain.local(exampledomain.local) 56 data bytes 64 bytes from exampledomain.local: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.032 ms If I replace ::1 with 127.0.0.1 in my hosts file, it works fine.   • Repair GRUB bootloader for multiboot system

    I have two hard disks – one a 1TB and the other a 250 GB. I installed the OSes in the following order: Windows 7 on the first hard disk (1 TB) After that Kubuntu 12.04 on a partition (/dev/sdb7) on the second hard disk (250 GB) The second drive also contains an NTFS partition. Now, kubuntu's bootloader was installed on the second hard drive's MBR (and successfully detected Windows 7). So, whenever I wanted to load Windows I used to select the first hard disk from the BIOS boot menu and the second hard disk whenever I wanted to load kubuntu. I know I could have set the second hard disk as the default drive, still I prefered this method. The problem started when I installed Linux Mint 13 on the second hard disk (/dev/sdb3) and overwrote kubuntu's original MBR. Now, the GRUB just detects Mint and Windows. The MBR on the 1 TB hard disk is untouched. Is there a way I can modify the MBR on the second hard disk now so that it will show kubuntu and Mint both?

    Hello I recently installed CSF firewall and have made live a new server which is accepting around 600req/second. Its basically a reverse proxy and I found in pingdom and munin that for a particular time, the response times of the server increased by 3 folds.     I have a home built NAS, and I need to slightly reconfigure some of my drive usage. I have an mdadm RAID1 composed of two 3TB drives. Each drive has one ext3 partition that uses the entire drive. I need to shrink the ext3 partition on both drives, and add a second 8GB or so ext3 partition to one, and swap partition of equal size to the other. I think I have the steps figured out, but wanted some confirmation. Resize the mdadm RAID resize2fs /dev/md0 [size] where size is a little larger than the currently used space on the drive Remove one of the drives from the RAID mdadm /dev/md0 --fail /dev/sda1 Resize the removed drive with parted Add the new partition to the drive with parted Restore the drive to the RAID mdadm -a /dev/md0 /dev/sda1 Repeat 2-5 for the other device Resize the RAID to use the full partition mdadm --grow /dev/md0 -z max Is there anything I've missed, or haven't considered?

  • Cannot connect on TFS 2012 server through SSL with invalid certificate

    I saw the problem on some forums and even here, but not as specific as mine. So here's the thing, So I've configured a TFS 2012 server, on one of my personnel server at home, and now, I'm trying to make it available through the internet, with the help of apache2 on a different UNIX based, physical server. The thing is working perfectly, I don't have any problem accessing the address https://tfs.something.com/tfs through my browser. The address can be pinged and I do have access to the TFS control panel through it. How does it work? Well, with apache2 you can set a virtual host and set up the ProxyPass and ProxyPassReserver setting, so the traffic can externally comes from a secure SSL connection, through a specified domain or sub-domain, but it can be locally redirect on a clear http session on a different port. This is my current setup. As I already said, I can access the web interface, but when I'm trying to connect with Visual Studio 2012, it can't be done. Here's the error I receive: http://i.imgur.com/TLQIn.png The technical information tells me: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. My SSL certificate is invalid and was automatically generated on my UNIX server. Even if I try to add it in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities either on my TFS server or on my local workstation, it doesn't work. I still receive the same error. Is there's a way to completely ignore certificate validation? If not, what's have I done? I mean, I've added the certificate in the trusted root certificates, it should works as mentioned on some forums... If you need more information, please ask me, I'll be pleased to provide you more.
