• Have visual studio copy x64 DLL or x86 DLL when building a C# project

  We're building a C# app that uses an external DLL for Sqlite.NET. This is a .NET dll but it embeds a C dll inside it and so it comes in x86 and x64 flavours. We add a reference to the x86 version in the project so when we build and run on x86 it's fine. Visual studio copies the dll to the bin folder and runs. On x64 it still copies the x86 version of course and then when it runs it fails to load it. We get round this by temporarily setting our project to be x86 only, but ideally we'd like to tell visual studio to copy the correct version depending on which flavour of machine it is. Any ideas how?

  Hello, Can anyone tell me what is the difference between SSL_CTX_set_cert_verify_callback and SSL_CTX_set_verify? From OpenSSL docs: SSL_CTX_set_cert_verify_callback() sets the verification callback function for ctx. SSL objects that are created from ctx inherit the setting valid at the time when SSL_new(3) is called. and: SSL_CTX_set_verify() sets the verification flags for ctx to be mode and specifies the verify_callback function to be used. If no callback function shall be specified, the NULL pointer can be used for verify_callback. So I'm trying to understand which callback to send for each one (from client side). Thanks experts.

Any ideas ??

• Drupal - Use lightbox with Views (Rel attribute) - in output link

  In Drupal I have two image fields, one to act as a thumbnail and the other the image that will open when the thumbnail is clicked. The only way I could find to link the two was to use the option for "Output this field as a link" and link to the image field. This works, so when I click the thumbnail it opens the larger image however I would like to use lightbox2 for this task but in the "Output this field as a link" options there is no way to set the "rel" attribute. Is there a way to either set the rel attribute or invoke the lightbox by setting a class?

• Bullet physics engine, how to freeze an object?

  Using Bullet 2.76 I'm trying to freeze an object (rigid body) so that it instantly stops moving, but still responds to collisions. I tried setting it's activation state to DISABLE_SIMULATION, but then it's virtually nonexistent to other objects. Furthermore, if objects "collide" with it when it's disabled, strange things begin to happen (object's falling through static bodies, etc.) I suppose, temporarily converting it to a static rigid body could work, but is there an existing "native" way to achieve this on Bullet's side? Edit: Is there a way to turn off gravity for a specific object?

• API For Flex Apps To Interact

  I have a large flex application (the app) running on one server, and many small flex applications (widgets) running on another server, which are to be included in the app so that visually the user see's one continuous application. Due to proprietary third party software, this structure cannot be changed. I am looking for some way to allow the app and the widgets to communicate, allowing the app to make changes to the widgets and the the widgets to notify the app when events are triggered, so that user interaction is fluid and continuous. There are a few related questions which indicate it's possible to do this by setting up event triggers and listeners. I am wondering if there is any standardized way to do this (the answers aren't very clear) or if anyone has developed a library or API to make this easier.

• How do I set up a test duplicate of a Django and Postgresql based web application?

  Not sure if this is an excessively broad and newbie-ish question for Stack Overflow but here goes: I paid someone else to build a web application for me and now I want to tweak certain aspects of it myself. I learn best by trial and error – changing stuff and seeing what happens. Obviously that's not a great way to treat a live site, so I need to duplicate the site on some kind of test server which I can play with without fear of the consequences. Unfortunately the closest I've come to programming has been creating ActionScript-based websites. I've never touched a database. So I really don't know where to start with setting up a test server. I would really appreciate any advice about where to start. I am completely ignorant and lost here. The web application is built in python/django using a Postgresql database. I use Mac OS X 10.6 if that makes any difference.

  Hi All, Is there any RIM API available which will help to get the list of available network service or only Wi-Fi networks for a device and set selected network access point for any network communications? Is it possible programmatically to disable the Mobile networks like GPRS, WAP, etc? For Ex: When a application is started it should scan for WiFi connections (even if there are no previous WiFi network access points are set on device) and list the available WiFi connection. Then user will select the appropriate WiFi connection to connect for any network communication. Outside the application any internet communication (like browser or any other application) should done through same selected WiFi connection. The scanning for WiFi and setting the connection is almost similar to Blackberry WiFi Setup. If anyone know how to implement this using available RIM API and let me know its possible or not. Please share if anyone have any code snippet related to this. I am looking for OS v4.5, 4.7, and 5.0. Thanks, siddh.

• How to change the default Help browser for VS2010?

  Visual Studio 2010 changed the help system to run a little daemon and launch the system default web browser to view it. I'm using Firefox for my system browser but would like to use Chrome for VS help. Is there an option to change the Help browser that I'm not seeing in Tools|Options? If not, is there a workaround or registry setting to do this? As a backup I've been using H3Viewer but I'd like to be able to get context-sensitive F1 help from within the VS IDE.

• Side effects of reordering columns in PostgreSQL

  I sometimes re-order the columns in my Postgres DB. Since Postgres can only add columns at the end of tables, I end up re-ordering by adding new columns at the end of the table, setting them equal to existing columns, and then dropping the original columns. My question is: what does PostgreSQL do with the memory that's freed by dropped columns? Does it automatically re-use the memory, so a single record consumes the same amount of space as it did beforehand? But that would require a re-write of the whole table, so to avoid that, does it just keep a bunch of blank space around in each record? Thanks! ~S

• Why is the dictionary debug visualizer less useful in Visual Studio 2010 for Silverlight debugging?

  I was debugging in Visual Studio 2010, which we just installed and trying to look at a dictionary in the quick watch window. I see Keys and Values, but drilling into those shows the Count and Non-Public members, Non-Public members continues the trail and I never see the values in the dictionary. I can run test.Take(10) and see the values, but why should I have to do that. I don't have VS 2008 installed anymore to compare, but it seems that I could debug a dictionary much easier. Why is it this way now? Is it just a setting I set somehow on my machine? Test code: Dictionary<string, string> test = new Dictionary<string, string>(); test.Add("a", "b"); EDIT: I've just tried the same debug in a Console app and it works as expected. • Using the C Cluster library in Visual C++.

  Right so i'm trying to use a C library in C++, never actually done this before i thought it would be a case of declaring the header includes under a extern "C" and setting the compile as flag to "default" but i'm still getting linker errors and think that the header file might have to be complied as a DLL. I have no idea really. Is it the library that's the problem or is it me? There are some make files in the cluster-1.47\src, but i don't know how or if they relate to "cluster.h". • Disable Link while animated Basket

  Hi, I'm using this script for my online shopping basket: http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/fly-to-basket-effect-with-jquery/. Like people suggest in the comments it's easy buggy when you click multiple times on the same image. How can I disable the img link when it's clicked once and re-enable it when the product is added to the basket? I've tried setting the attribute HREF of to # in the beginning of the function, but that doesn't help. So when a user clicks the function needs to be executed, but the link should be disabled as long as the function is busy. thanks in advance for your help.

• Java application failing on special characters.

  An application I am working on reads information from files to populate a database. Some of the characters in the files are non-English, for example accented French characters. The application is working fine in Windows but on our Solaris machine it is failing to recognise the special characters and is throwing an exception. For example when it encounters the accented e in "Gérer" it says :- Encountered: "\u0161" (353), after : "\'G\u00c3\u00a9rer les mod\u00c3" (an exception which is thrown from our application) I suspect that in order to stop this from happening I need to change the file.encoding property of the JVM. I tried to do this via System.setProperty() but it has not stopped the error from occurring. Are there any suggestions for what I could do? I was thinking about setting the basic locale of the solaris platform in /etc/default/init to be UTF-8. Does anyone think this might help? Any thoughts are much appreciated.

• How do I change the JAVA_HOME for ant?

  I'm doing java work on a class server where I don't have root. Whenever I try to compile using ant, it points to the wrong directory (/usr/tomcat instead of /usr/tomcat/jre ). One of the things we were told to do when setting up our user accounts was to add export JAVA_HOME=/usr/tomcat/jre to the .bashrc file. I don't know if that was supposed to take care of the problem but it doesn't seem to. So, how can I change the JAVA_HOME property for ant but only for when I run ant? EDIT: echo $JAVA_HOME points to /usr/tomcat/jre echo $JAVA_HOME\bin points to /usr/tomcat/jrebin The problem is when I normally run ant I get this error: Unable to locate tools.jar. Expected to find it in /usr/tomcat/lib/tools.jar Buildfile: build.xml compile: [javac] Compiling 1 source file to /home/ejm244/build/classes BUILD FAILED /home/ejm244/build.xml:9: Unable to find a javac compiler; com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath. • Are there hosted jQuery UI themes anywhere? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Downloading jQuery CSS from Google's CDN I'm using Google-hosted jQuery and jQueryUI, but I'm wondering if there are hosted jQueryUI themes anywhere? I'd like to just point to a hosted CSS file (the same way I do with the hosted JS file), so that I don't have to worry about setting up directories for the widget images or the CSS files or anything like that. Update I've found this, referenced by the jqueryui.com source code: <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.7.2/themes/ui-lightness/jquery-ui.css" type="text/css" media="all" /> Substituting the name of other themes from the themeroller page seems to work, but I'd love it if someone could find where on Google they list all the available themes that they are hosting. I'm not finding anything about this (maybe it is very recent?).

• What's the point of having to provide a cacheName for NSFetchedResultsController?

How important is this decision? What would happen if there are two NSFetchedResultsController instances using the exact same cacheName? Does that matter? Is that some kind of singleton stuff? Thinking about Core Animation, there's also this strange animationID parameter, but setting it to the exact same thing for dozens of simultaneous animations doesn't hurt the animations at all. So I guess it's probably the same thing here...or not?

• With Rails 3 routes, how do you only allow a requests from 127.0.0.1?

  I'm writing an app where several of the routes should only be accessible from localhost. It looks like this is possible with the new routing system. http://www.railsdispatch.com/posts/rails-3-makes-life-better This has examples of restricting routes based on IP address, and setting up an IP address blacklist for your routes, but I'm interested in a whitelist with just one IP address. It would be cool if something like this worked: get "/posts" => "posts#show", :constraints => {:ip => '127.0.0.1'} But it didn't. Am I just missing the right syntax?

When I try to compile, I am getting CSTRING not defined and fatal error C1189: #error : WINDOWS.H already included. MFC apps must not #include <windows.h> If I include afx.h and remove windows.h, I am getting iDLLMain already defined errors. How do I resolve these problems, please?

• Custom iPad keyboard backspace method last character crash

  I'm making a custom UI iPad keyboard app, and I'm doing something similar to this post for the backspace method: custom backspace button crashes iPhone app However, the app will always crash when I "backspace" for the last character in the UITextView. I know -substringToIndex won't work for an empty string, but I tried using a temporary mutable string then using -deleteCharactersInRange, and that crashed it too. I'm guessing the crash is due to me manually setting the -selectedRange property for the text view after deleting a character? But even if I do: textView.selectedRange = NSMakeRange(0, 0); the app will crash. Any ideas?

  I'm doing something in Java that requires input to be matched against the pattern ^[1-5]$. I should have a while loop looping through each line of input, checking it against the pattern, and outputting an error message if it does not. Sudo code: while (regex_match(/^[^1-5]$/,inputLine)) { print ("Please enter a number between 1 and 5! "); getNextInputLine(); } I can use java.util.Scanner.hasMatch("^[^1-5]$"), but that will only match a single token, not the entire line. Any idea on how to make hasMatch match against the entire line? (Setting the delimiter to "\n" or "\0" doesn't work.)

• html5media & flowplayer wmode issues...

  I'm working on our new homepage and need to implement a solution that will run a video across iphone/ipad and the standard web browsers. I found a pretty decent solution with html5media - http://code.google.com/p/html5media/ but ran across an issue with a jquery dropdown falling behind the the swf object (this only happens on FF & IE - works fine on Safari & Chrome because it's loading mp4 instead of a swf object). I know the issue is the wmode setting but can not for the life of me figure out where to set it in the html5media (http://html5media.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/html5media.min.js). I'm hoping someone can help me or possibly give me a better solution of implementing the video. • VS 2010 / Resharper 5 Mouse Behavior

  After upgrading to the above configuration I notice that 1) CTRL-Click on a type highlights the type but doesn't take me to the declaration, 2) Clicking on some closure (ie, like a method) toggles whether it's expanded or collapsed. Since these are both mouse related tasks I figure there is some setting in either VS or R# that I need to change, but I sure can't figure out what it is. Anybody know? • Binding Properties.Settings to Textbox fails

  I would like to define a key & value in Settings.settings and bind the value by declaration in the XAML (not in the code behind by command). Here's what I've been trying in vain: Create a WPF project "Exp1" with Visual Studio Express 2010. Set one key named "TextFromSettings" to the value "Some Text from Setting". Add the attribute xmlns:p="clr-namespace:Exp1.Properties;assembly=Exp1" to the tag. Add Text="{Binding Path=TextFromSettings, Mode=TwoWay, Source={x:Static p:Settings.Default}}" to the tag Now, the preview window shows the text, however, the compiler fails: "Error 1 Cannot find the type 'Settings'. Note that type names are case sensitive." Where am I going wrong?
