  • Mulitple movements with keyboard in C++

    Im trying to get my movement of a ball to just move in a fluid like motion. How can I have it that when I press the up key, down key, left key, or right key, it doesnt move up one unit, stop, then keep moving. Also, how can i have it move in two directions at the same time wthout stopping another direction when letting off a key?     Hello, I have a div with width 600 px. I want to pull the images dynamically. Images size are varies. What I want to do is, if the image size is more than 600 px, we will resize the image to 600 px to fit into the div. But if the image is not more than 600px, we will leave as original image width.     I'm new to Python, so I'm not sure exactly what this operation is called, hence I'm having a hard time searching for information in it. Basically I'd like to have a string such as: "[[size]] widget that [[verb]] [[noun]]" Where size, verb, and noun are each a list. I'd like to interpret the string as a metalanguage, such that I can make lots of sentences out permutations from the lists. As a metalanguage, I'd also be able to make other strings that use those pre-defined lists to generate more permutations. Are there any capabilities for variable substitution like this in Python? What term describes this operation if I should just Google it?

  • PHP Session / Array Problem accesing

    Hello, I have a form that certain data, which then gets calculated and gets displayed in a table. All the data gets saved in a 2 dimensional array. Every time i go back to the form the new data gets saved in the array. That data will be displayed in the next table row and so on. I have used print_r($_Session) and everything gets properly saved in the array. Although i have no idea how to acces the session variables area, floor, phone, network etc wich are now in the array. Without arrays i stored them in a variable for example $phone , and did calculations with it. But now when i use the arrays, i keep on getting undefined index phone etc... How can i acces these variables, been looking at this for hours without getting any closer to a solution. Any help much appreciated. Regards.   • Boxy Submit Form

    I am using the boxy jQuery plugin in my page to display a form on a clickEvent for the fullCalendar plugin. It is working all right , the only problem I have is that the form in boxy brings up the confirmation dialog the first time the dialog is opened and when the user clicks "Ok" it submits the form a second time which generates 2 events on my calendar and 2 entries in my database.     I am looking for a best practice while uploading images to amazon s3 server and serving from there. We need four different sizes of an image. So just after image upload we convert the image and scale in 4 different widths and heights. And then we send them to the amazon s3 using official php api. // ... // image conversions, bucket setting, s3 initialization etc. $sizes= array("", "48", "64", "128"); foreach($sizes as $size) { $filename = $upload_path.$dest_file.$size.$ext; $s3->batch()->create_object($bucket, , array( 'fileUpload' => $filename, 'acl' => AmazonS3::ACL_PUBLIC, )); } But for a 1M image the client sometimes wait up to 30 seconds which is a very long time. Instead of sending images immediately to S3, it may be better to add them to a job queue. But the user should see the uploaded image immediately.

  • upload form only works in Firefox when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files

    uploadform.html and upload_file.php (below) works fine in Firefox but fails in Chrome, IE, and Safari when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files. Error message is "Invalid file" and problem occurs with multiple computers and multiple .stl files. When I modify the code to support other file types like JPG and PDF it allows those file types in all three web browsers. Also, Firefox only allows the .stl upload if I include application/octet-stream in the mime types section.     Hello, In my app I move the table view (in order to make the text fields visible when the keyboard appears). The view is looks following: This is the code I use for resizing the view and moving it up: static const NSUInteger navBarHeight = 44; CGRect appFrame = [[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]; tableView.frame = CGRectMake(0, navBarHeight, appFrame.size.width, appFrame.size.height-navBarHeight-216); //216 for the keyboard NSIndexPath *indPath = [self getIndexPathForTextField:textField]; //get the field the view should scroll to [tableView scrollToRowAtIndexPath:indPath atScrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionMiddle animated:YES]; The problem is that when the view is moved up it also moves 3 pixels into right direction (it is hard to see the difference in the screenshot, but it is visible when the animation is on and I measured the difference with PixelStick tool). Here it is how it looks after the move: My analysis shows that scrolling the table does not influence the move to the right. Any ideas what is wrong in the code above that makes the view move to the right?

    I have an iOS application that I want to animate a falling leaf (or several). I have my leaf image in an ImageView and I've figured out a simple animation from the documentation: [UIView animateWithDuration:4.0f delay:0 options:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft animations:^(void) { leaf1ImageView.frame = CGRectMake(320, 480, leaf1ImageView.frame.size.width,leaf1ImageView.frame.size.height); } completion:NULL]; This will make the leaf go from its starting position to the bottom right corner in a straight line. How would I animate this to follow a path or curve like a parabola or sinusoid and maybe even rotate the image or view? Would this be done in the animations block? Thanks in advance!

    I am implementing a dynamic programming algorithm for the knapsack problem in Java. I declare the array and then initialize its size to be [number of objects][capacity of knapsack]. When my number of objects or my capacity gets too large, I get a memory error because I run out of space on the heap. My questions is: If I delete rows from my double array as I go along, will Java free the memory as I delete? Or does Java reserve that memory space for the size of the array I originally created? If it's the latter, is there a way to manually free the memory in Java? Thanks for your Help!

    It's my understanding the all .NET object instances begin with an 8 byte 'object header': a synch block (4 byte pointer into a SynchTableEntry table), and a type handle (4 byte pointer into the types method table). I'm not seeing this in VS 2010 RC's (CLR 4.0) debugger memory windows. Here's a simple class that will generate a 16 byte instance, less the object header. class Program { short myInt = 2; // 4 bytes long myLong = 3; // 8 bytes string myString = "aString"; // 4 byte object reference // 16 byte instance static void Main(string[] args) { new Program(); return; } } An SOS object dump tells me that the total object size is 24 bytes. That makes sense. The object size is reported as 24 bytes, but the debugger is showing that it only occupies 20 bytes of memory. I'm reading Drill Into .NET Framework Internals to See How the CLR Creates Runtime Objects, and expected the first 4 bytes of my object to be a zeroed synch block pointer, as shown in Figure 8 of that article. Granted, this is an article about CLR 1.1. I'm just wondering if the difference between what I'm seeing and what this early article reports is a change in either the debugger's display of object layout, or in the way the CLR lays out objects in versions later than 1.1. Anyway, can anyone account for my 4 missing bytes?

    I need to be able to drag and drop boxes of differing dimensions on the same grid. JQuery UI seems to offer 80% of what I'm after particularly the sortable grid the have on their demo page. The only problem is that this grid only works with boxes of identical dimensions. My requirement is to be able to have the same functionality but with boxes that are sized as multiples of the base unit. For example - let's say the standard box size is 300x300px I would also like the opportunity to show on the same grid a 300x600px and a 600x600px box. There's no requirement to display boxes that are not multiples of the dimensions of the smallest box size.

    A workforce management software has complex GUI (for example values in a page depends on the status (closed or open) of other pages). Only latest and near past development has test coverage. During our last release, we received lots of bugs from customer in-spite of 2 weeks of testing Sprint . We don't have dedicated test team. The developers does the unit test & User acceptance test. Every day triggers automated regression test. I am afraid the developers are not testing the entire workflow because its time consuming also not able to automate it because of its complexity. Any suggestions ?. The legacy code (15 yrs development) has less code coverage. How can I improve quality ? Note: Now not possible to hire testers to have independent test team!!

    I have a slideshow of images (and links) on a page. These images are part of a JSON response to a request sent after the page loads. The slideshow is set to play at an interval of 2 seconds. The slideshow can be paused, played over, and all other controls a normal slideshow would have. As a Rails dev, I proposed cucumber but the javascript guys in the team are not comfortable with ruby. I saw some cucumber for javascript libraries coming up, still in experimental stage. I checked out jasmine and related tutorials but all I could get from them is how I can carry out any internal functional testing such as credit-cart validation, etc. - which I think could actually be handled in unit testing? (Screw the research I did and) How should I go about testing this and similar components?
