• Binding to object properties in C++

  I've seen in WPF where you can bind control values to properties of other controls. How is that binding accomplished in C++? For example, if I have a class called Car and a guage control called RPM, how do I tie the value of RPM to the member variable Car.RPM, so that when Car.RPM changes, it is automatically (as in without a specific update call coded by me) reflected by the RPM control? General answers or directions to pertinent resources would be fine also, as I'm just beginning to dabble in C++ and haven't had much Google luck with this particular question.

• When marking an item (changing background color) in ListView it's repeating for other items.

Does anyone know what's the reason?

• UINavigationController: How do I delete a view of a stack

  Let say here is my stack layout View3 --> Top of the stack View2 View1 HomeView --> Bottom of the stack So I am in View3 now, if I click the Home button, I want to load HomeView, meaning that I need to pop View3, View2, and View1. But if I pop View3, View2 will be displayed. I dont want that. I want View3, View2, and View1 be removed, and HomeView will be displayed. Any idea how?

  I am using the d3.behavior.zoom to implement panning and zooming on a tree layout, but it is exhibiting a behavior I would describe as bouncing or numeric instability. When you start to drag, the display will inexplicably bounce left or right until it just disappears. • ASP.NET web site running in IIS and hosting WCF service fails to get connections on the TCP server

  I am using the combination of Silverlight client application along with ASP.NET web site running in IIS and hosting WCF service. This WCF service uses the library that starts a TCP server and and initiates requests to the connected TCP clients when the silverlight client application makes the WCF async requests. When I use this library in a local WPF application, the TCP server is able to receive client connection requests and I can get info from these clients. But when I use the same library from the implementation of the WCF service inside the ASP .NET web site project (+ Silverlight client), the server strangely does not receive any connection requests i.e. when I create TcpListener object and issue a start, nothing happens (nor an exception is generated). My setup is I am using the Ethernet for the Internet and Wi-Fi for the TCP clients. Is the WCF service getting confused because of this? Is there any special WCF settings I should put in for TcpListener.Start to work?

• Android changing colors with themes

  I am trying to provide user settable colors in my app. White text on black background and black text on white background. I have multiple layouts with many listviews, both standard and custom adapters. People have suggested using Themes, but I have had no luck changing the text colors across all layouts. Can anyone show me an actual Theme layout that can accomplish this? I can easily change the background colors using myscreen.setBackGroundColor(xx), but when I try to change the text with a theme, it also changes spinner text as well.

• JQuery.ready is too late: How do I apply CSS Values with JQuery before Rendering?

  I want to be able to apply opacity to some elements to make them invisible only if javascript is enabled. I don't want to use display:none because I want the layout to act as if they're in the DOM, so setting opacity to 0 is perfect. I want to be able to set this initial value using Javascript, using JQuery, so I don't have to mess with browser differences on the opacity (and many other) attributes. But if I set opacity to 0 like so: $(document).ready(function() { $("#header").css("opacity", 0); $("#header").animate({opacity:1}, 500); }); ...half the time it's already visible on the screen, so it appears and disappears. How do I set these css values using JQuery before they ever can render?

• Android : Stop image scaling down

  Hi, I'm trying to draw an image in a view but having problems trying to maintain the scale of the original image. Basically, I have a small view and I would like to show part of the image in the view. The intention then is to perform a translation on the image so that a different part appears in the view. No matter what I try, either the image is down-scaled automatically to fit the view or the whole image is viewable. I've tried playing about with the settings on BitmapDrawable, ImageView and Layout to no avail. Anyone know a good way to achieve this?

• Setting 0 margin in header using LaTeX's fancyhdr

  Hi, I'm trying to define a custom layout for my report for which I'm using fancyhdr. On the pages which contains a chapter start I want my header to contain a colorbox spanning across the whole page (0 cm margins) although keeping my defaults margin in the text area. I can get the box to span across the "margin notes" area, but not the other side. • C# Event routing in code behind

  I'm building a WPF MVVM-ish application. I want to be able to display an event log containing items in a collection that exists in my viewmodel. I want any of the objects in the model to be able to add data to the event log. Therefore every object needs to be able to pass data back to one central collection for databinding in the view. I could implement an event in every one of my data classes and manually pass the events up the object heirarchy but this seems super clumsy. On the visual tree a Routed Event would take care of this, is there some equivelent in the model scope? Any other ideas?

• DispatcherOperations.Wait()

  What happens if you call dispatcherOperation.Wait() on an operation that has already completed? Also, the docs say that it returns a DispatcherOperationStatus, but wouldn't that always be Completed since it (supposedly) doesn't return until it's done?   Hey Everyone, I have limited SQL background, basically a small amount of manipulation through HTML and mostly with pre-existing databases. What I am trying to do is set up a database that will store time information for bus routes. So basically I have different routes with stops for each route and then a list of times that the bus arrives at each stop. Here is an example of a table of times from their website: Link.   Hi I want to expire a cached action and wondered how to generate the correct reference. #controller caches_action :index, :layout => false #generates this fragment which works fine views/0.0.0.0:3000/article/someid/posts #sweeper ... expire_action article_posts_path(:article_id => post.article) # results in this Expired fragment: views//en/article/someid/posts (0.0ms) So this is almost ok, except the host is missing.   Some problems that I recall (there may be more): Includes regions Does not use this. prefix for member variables and methods Includes comments like the one below ( having // by itself catches the eye of StyleCop) // // fileNameTextBox // If I make a change to the text, and then open the designer again, and screws up my previously perfected fruits of hard labor. How did / would you solve this problem? I heard but did not personally experience a similar problem with WPF. How did / would you fix that? Thanks.

  I am working on a project similar to a table where the user will be able to add rows. Right now there is just one row type available but I would like to give the user the ability to select from a list without changing the layout of the page. So, I put together a menu that appears on mouseover of the 'add row' link and disappears on mouseout (with a slight delay and fade in/out) using mootools event listeners. It looks like: I am now trying to figure out an easy way to make it so that the list stays available when the user's mouse leaves the 'add a row' link to go to select an item from the list. I looked through various mootools add-ons and tutorial but didn't find anything all that helpful. Does anyone know of a good tutorial guide me through this or can otherwise point me in the right direction here?

• BIRT PDF report : fixed table heigth?

  Hi, I am trying to display a table to display of products (rows) in a single A4 fixed layout page. I manage to add a table with header/detail/footer sections but I can not set a minimum heigth for the detail section (150mm for example). If I set a 150mm heigth on the detail row, then Each row will have that 150mm heigth. Whereas I would like, each row to have a minimal heith (could be on several line if the content of some columns is wrapped). +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Hdr | col1 | col2 | col3 | +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Dtl | [val1] | [val2] | [val3] | +---------+--------+--------------+ | | <-should have a variable heigth +---------+--------+--------------+ Tbl Ftr | | | Total | +---------+--------+--------------+ If a set not heigth on the detail row then the footer comes, right beneath the detail rows, instead of sticking at the bottom of the page :-( I hope this makes sense (if not I could provide more details).   I have two classes A & B, and a listbox. I assign listBox.ItemsSource equal to a collection of objects of type A. The listbox items are visualized using silverlight data templating, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.datatemplate.aspx and http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/UserControlAsDataTemplate.aspx for example. The listbox.ItemTemplate is a DataTemplate that uses class B to visualize the listbox items. Now, in my code-behind, inside any method of class B, if I do this.DataContext, it points to an object of type A. Thus, given an object of type B, I can find the corresponding object of type A. So far so good. My question is, given an object of type A, how can I navigate to the corresponding object of type B? Is this even possible in SL?

• how to force onLayout

  Hi i want to design a custom View where I need to recalculate my layout and redraw when user changes something. To force a onLayout(), the only solution that works for me until now is: onLayout(true, 0, 0, 0, 0); invalidate(); Of course that gives me a lint error and I have to add a @SuppressLint("WrongCall"). So there must be a smarter solution. Calls of forceLayout or requestLayout didn't work. Probably they only put a request on a stack but don't react immediately. As my view has no child elements and I do the drawing inside all by myself, could be I'm bypassing some Android design guides and abusing some principles. Can live with the lint error but maybe someone already found a solution. Thanks!
