Website Images not indexed by Google, Yahoo and Bing

Hi, My classifieds website has been present online since 2006, the html pages are indexed and rank as expected whereas a search on Google Images for site:example.com returns nothing & in Yahoo or Bing it returns only a few image results, 8 to 10. Here is an example of a response HTTP headers as reported by Firebug: Date Sat, 15 Jan 2011 20:38:21 GMT Server Apache Cache-Control max-age=34560000 Expires Sun, 19 Feb 2012 20:38:21 GMT Accept-Ranges bytes Last-Modified Fri, 14 Jan 2011 21:59:16 GMT Vary Accept-Encoding Content-Encoding gzip Content-Length 21675 Connection close Content-Type image/jpeg What should I do to tell search engines to index my website images? Conflicting problem with css

I was told last night that the following isn't allowed in CSS. <a href="index.php"><div class="button">Home</div></a> .submenu div.button{width:72px; height:20px; float:left; margin:0 20px; font-size:0.9em; font-family:Arial; padding:2px; color:black;} How can i create the look I want for the button and then allow the user to click on it in any other way? What is the best way to do this? It works as it is, but I am being told it's not complient.

Rails -- Cant set value for date_select in form

I'm pulling data from an API where the date data comes in as "2008-02-11 00:00:00 " I would like that data to go into my form within the date_select as a value so I can view it correctly before I add it into my database. The view looks like <%= f.label :start_date %><br /> <%= f.date_select :start_date, :value => " #{@stdate[idx]} " %> The object is actually an array of dates since I'm doing this action several times do thats why the [idx] is there; serving as an index. <%= @stdate[idx] % ends up outputting "2008-02-11 00:00:00 " but the fields for the date_select helper only outputs the current date "2010" "June" "5" in those dropdown date selects fields... Do I need to set the values of the Year, Month, and Date Individually? I have Chronic and tried to parse the object before using it as a value for the date_select and that didnt work either. Any ideas?

How to fill a section within c++ string?

Having a string of whitespaces: string *str = new string(); str->resize(width,' '); I'd like to fill length chars at a position. In C it would look like memset(&str[pos],'#', length ); How can i achieve this with c++ string, I tried string& assign( const string& str, size_type index, size_type len ); but this seems to truncat the original string. Is there an easy C++ way to do this? Thanks.

append versus resize for numpy array

Hi all I would like to append a value at the end of my numpy.array. I saw numpy.append function but this performs an exact copy of the original array adding at last my new value. I would like to avoid copies since my arrays are big. I am using resize method and then set the last index available to the new value. Can you confirm that resize is the best way to append a value at the end? Is it not moving memory around someway? Any way to avoid a filesort when order by is different to where clause?

I have an incredibly simple query (table type InnoDb) and EXPLAIN says that MySQL must do an extra pass to find out how to retrieve the rows in sorted order. SELECT * FROM `comments` WHERE (commentable_id = 1976) ORDER BY created_at desc LIMIT 0, 5 exact explain output: table select_type type extra possible_keys key key length ref rows comments simple ref using where; using filesort common_lookups common_lookups 5 const 89 commentable_id is indexed. Comments has nothing trick in it, just a content field. The manual suggests that if the order by is different to the where, there is no way filesort can be avoided. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/order-by-optimization.html I also tried order by id as well as it's equivalent but makes no difference, even if I add id as an index (which I understand is not required as id is indexed implicitly in MySQL). thanks in advance for any ideas!

MyFaces Test Framework not working with JSF 2.1

we have a lot of tests that uses Myfaces Test Framework for JSF 2.0. http://myfaces.apache.org/test/index.html Problem is we can't get it to work with JSF 2.1. Does anyone know a workaround or a way to solve this? When we run the tests we get the following error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Application was not properly initialized at startup, could not find Factory: javax.faces.application.ApplicationFactory It works fine with jsf 2.0 though. A typical use case in our code: // code block; assertFalse("Error message not expected. ", facesContext .getMessages().hasNext()); JSF 2.1 has a few syntax changes so my guess would be that's the problem.

Using NSArray for C-type int comparisons

I would like to iterate through an NSArray of ints and compare each one to a specific int. All ints are C type ints. The code I am using is as follows: -(int)ladderCalc: (NSArray*)amounts: (int)amount { int result; for (NSUInteger i=0; i< [amounts count]; i++) { if (amount < [amounts objectAtIndex:i]); { // do something } // do something } } However I get an error when comparing the int amount to the result of [amounts objectAtIndex:i] because you cannot compare id to int. Why is the id involved in this case? Shouldn't objectAtIndex just return the object at the index specified? Is it possible to cast the object returned to an C int and then do the comparison? Or should I just dispense with NSArray and do this type of thing in C?

getResourceAsStream() is always returning null

I have the following structure in a Java Web Application: TheProject -- [Web Pages] -- -- [WEB-INF] -- -- -- abc.txt -- -- index.jsp -- [Source Packages] -- -- [wservices] -- -- -- WS.java In WS.java, I am using the following code in a Web Method: InputStream fstream = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("abc.txt"); But it is always returning a null. I need to read from that file, and I read that if you put the files in WEB-INF, you can access them with getResourceAsStream, yet the method is always returning a null. Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong? Btw, the strange thing is that this was working, but after I performed a Clean and Build on the Project, it suddenly stopped working :/

Accessing cookies in php which are set in java web application

I am setting a cookie at the domain level on encrypted connection in Java web application running on tomcat and I would like it to be accessible in a php web application running on a same domain but different subdomain. Java web application running on https://javaapp.mycompany.com php web application running on https://phpapp.mycompany.com/subpath/index.php From java, I am setting the cookie with following parameters: Domain: .mycompany.com Send For: Encrypted connections only Expires: After 2 months Path: /subpath Name: __C Value: 1 Dumping all the cookies from my php web application running on https, I do not see any cookies getting dumped by the php web application. Whereas if I set the cookies in Java for any type of connection, only then php web application is able to see them if I run the php app on http instead of https. I believe php web app should be able to retrieve then cookies set for https only and for particular domain and all immediate sub-domains. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance for the help.

root path for multiple controllers on rails routes

I have two resource controllers where I am using a slug to represent the ID. (friendly_id gem). I am able to have the show path for one resource on the route but not for two at the same time. ie. root :to => 'home#index' match '/:id' => "properties#show" match '/:id' => "contents#show" Basically I want urls like, # Content domain.com/about-us domain.com/terms # Property domain.com/unique-property-name domain.com/another-unique-property-name Whatever resource I put on top works. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advace if you can help.

Is it faster to count down than it is to count up?

Our computer science teacher once said that for some reason it is more efficient to count down that count up. For example if you need to use a FOR loop and the loop index is not used somewhere (like printing a line of N * to the screen) I mean that code like this : for (i=N; i>=0; i--) putchar('*'); is better than: for (i=0; i<N; i++) putchar('*'); Is it really true? and if so does anyone know why?

Hello All, Is it possible to switch HTML on click? I have an index page with a large image on the front. Under the image there is four links. When the cursor rolls over the link I would like a small tool tip to appear. Then when the clicks the link I want the large Image to change and some extra HTML to appear over it. (just a small content box) The tooltip I think I have sorted using Jquery but I'm not sure how I can change the image [b]AND[/b] add a small content box over the image. Thanks in advanced everyone.

How can i make a callback to accordion after form validation, to show errors

I have a very long form, which is divided into fieldsets which in turn are being shown or hidden, using the harmonica from jQuery UI. I am using form validation from jQuery as well, all newest versions. After submission and validation the user is redirected to the first erroneous field by $('myForm').validate(); But the containing harmonica fieldset has to be showed/opened with $('myForm').accordion('activate', index); as well, in order to show the field to the user. So how can I open the appropriate accordion fieldset after the form has been tried to submit? Is there a way to do it in a callback function after $('myForm').validate();

'Best' way to pull data relative to a div?

This answer suggested i should put my data in JS instead of a textarea. Thinking about it i could have scripts and do something like myarray[i]="data" where i is the index of my for loop. However when i click a div how do i find out what i is? I have used var data = $(this).parent('.parent').find('.valuestr').eq(0).val(); which is extremely simple. Should i use a script or should i continue to do it with a textarea? if i should use a script 1) Whats the easiest way to find i and 2) Is it bad pratice to have dozens or hundreds of <script> in my html? or i can go through the loop twice but i still dont know the easiest way to find i. I would have to store it somewhere or go through multiple tags and count them.

Rails + RSpec problem

I have just installed Rspec and Rspec-rails. When i try to run the test, it says: rake aborted! Indexing Bilingual Sites

Hi all I have a site that supports two languages. The way the user changes the language is by clicking on a language link that will change his session language from A to B and return him to the same page. The problem that I am facing is that Google doesn't index the other language since it is seeing that the language link is the same as the page link but with changes in the parameters. So is there a way to inform google of the language, or should I add the language in the url, i.e. www.example.com/A/home?

Redirecting without change of address in browser address bar

I have a dynamic dns account where I map my machine's dynamic IP to an address say, www.xxx.yyy.net Now, I have registered another short domain name say www.yyy.com, the hosting is on a linux server. Now, my machine is actually a webserver which runs .net website which can be accessed by www.xxx.yyy.net I need my homepage(index.php) in my www.yyy.com handle the redirection in a way that the pages to be loaded from www.xxx.yyy.net/.... but it should look in the browser as www.yyy.com/... Is there any way to do this using php?

python multiprocessing.Process.Manager not producing consistent results?

I've written the following code to illustrate the problem I'm seeing. I'm trying to use a Process.Manager.list() to keep track of a list and increment random indices of that list. Each time there are 100 processes spawned, and each process increments a random index of the list by 1. Therefore, one would expect the SUM of the resulting list to be the same each time, correct? If I match this against a string and want to replace the first capturing group in all matches with baz so that foo___f blah foo________f is converted to: foobaz blah foobaz There doesn't appear to be any easy way to do this using the standard libraries. If I use Matcher.replaceAll() this will replace all matches of the entire pattern and convert the string to baz blah baz Obviously I can just iterate through the matches, store the start and end index of each capturing group, then go back and replace them, but is there an easier way?
