• NSInvalidArgumentException when updating WebView from AppDelegate

  I had to do an update in my WebView from the Appdelegate.m I try it like this: [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(loadWebViewWithContent:) withObject:requestObj waitUntilDone:NO]; The loadWebViewWithContent Method works great from ViewController.m, but not from the Appdelegate. I allready wrote this in my Appdelegate.h: -(void)loadWebViewWithContent:(NSURLRequest *)requestObj; Whats wrong? Please help me. I´m still a big Noob in IOS. • Trying to use tcl threads on windows 7 results in access violation.

  I'm trying to get this simple program to work on windows, but it crashes: unsigned (__stdcall testfoo)(ClientData x) { return 0; } int main() { Tcl_ThreadId testid = 0; Tcl_CreateThread(&testid, testfoo, (ClientData) NULL, TCL_THREAD_STACK_DEFAULT, TCL_THREAD_NOFLAGS); } I am using a makefile generated by cmake and linking against a version of Tcl 8.5.7 I compiled myself using Visual C++ 2008 express. It was compiled using msvcrt,static,threads and the name of the resulting library is tcl85tsx.lib. The error is: Unhandled exception at 0x77448c39 in main.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000014. The Tcl library works fine, and I can even run a threading script example by loading the Thread extension into it. My assumption is that there is something horribly wrong with a memory violation, but I have no idea what. Any help appreciated.

• Showing/Hiding the main form in C#

  I am working on a program where clicking on a button on form1 will open form2. I will then hide form1 until form2 is closed. The problem I have is that I cannot get form1 to show after form2 closes.   Hi guys, I've just updated my nexus one to 2.2...now all of my (own and some from the market) apps throw exceptions and were closed... It's weird, in the app i'm developing atm, there it displays only my start page with buttons, but when i tap on one button to fire an intent to another activity my app gets closed with an exception. Yesterday before the update everything worked fine... The same thing in my emulator: I have two devices, one with API level 7 and one with level 8...Level 7 worked fine, but level 8 killed my app :( What is the problem and how can I solve this? I'm desperatly trying to get it working again :( I hope someone can help me fixing this

  How can I remove a browser's cache server-side, using ASP.NET (C#)? A coupon shows by itself (I believe it comes from cache as I did also browse for other apparel sites). It breaks my JavaScript as well as my server-side code, as I am using an UpdatePanel for Ajax, and it duplicates the UpdatePanel's ID. I have renamed the UpdatePanel's ID, but it makes no difference. It generates "Invalid view State" exception. • Sending large XML from Silverlight to SVC (WCF)

  Hi! I want to send a big XML string to a WCF SVC service from Silverlight. It looks like anything under about 50k is sent correctly but if I try to send something over that limit, my request reaches the server (BeginRequest is called) but never reaches my SVC. I get the classic "NotFound" exception. Any idea on how to raise that limit? If I can't raise it? What are my other options? Thanks, Alex

  Having some problems with my Silverlight app (with RIA services) filtering my results. The idea is on the client I set up the EntityQuery and its filters and call load. However this isn't working for me. Exception. Does anyone know of a good way to filter like this? Again, I'm looking for a way to set this up on the client.

  I upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.2.1 and I seem to be getting the following exception when it attempts to connect to MySQL: The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server. at com.mysql.jdbc.Util.handleNewInstance(Util.java:407) at com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createCommunicationsException(SQLError.java:1116) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.<init>(MysqlIO.java:343) ... Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.doConnect(PlainSocketImpl.java:333) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connectToAddress(PlainSocketImpl.java:195) I've confirmed that MySQL is indeed running and seems to be working fine. The following is the line from my application.conf file (with user/pass/db replaced): db=mysql:username:password@databasename I also tried using the full JDBC configuration. Did I miss something? This worked just fine in 1.1.1. I'm running MySQL 5.1.41. Thanks.

  I'm trying to save a file in a subdirectory in Android 1.5. I can successfully create a directory using _context.GetFileStreamPath("foo").mkdir(); (_context is the Activity where I start the execution of saving the file) but then if I try to create a file in foo/ by _context.GetFileStreamPath("foo/bar.txt"); I get a exception saying I can't have directory separator in a file name ("/"). I'm missing something of working with files in Android... I thought I could use the standard Java classes but they don't seem to work... I searched the Android documentation but I couldn't fine example and google is not helping me too... I'm asking the wrong question (to google)... Can you help me out with this? Thank you!

  I am trying to change the color of the text of tabbar item,programmatically.   While coding in Ruby I did not really miss the type-orientedness of Java or C++ so far, but for some cases I think it is useful to have them. For Python there was a project PyProtocols which defined interfaces and protocols for objects. Does a similar initiative also exist for Ruby? I would like to be able to declare the expected parameters for some methods for some objects (for the entire code I find such think useless). It the method during the execution receives an unexpected input, it tries to adapt it or if it cannot, it throws an exception. Does something similar exist for Ruby? Introducing types for a type-less language like Ruby might sound freak, but I think types are sometimes useful. Thanks for help.

In the EditorZone I get a standard error message indicating that some error happened to the editor, but I want to change that message. Is that possible? • InvalidCastException: System.Web.UI.PartialCachingControl -> MyCustomControl when OutputCaching

  The problem: I am unable to use OutputCaching with my controls which derives from MyCustomControl. Controls are loaded dynamically using definitions from database with Page.LoadControl method. When I add to ascx <%@ OutputCache VaryByParam="*" Duration="3600"% the "InvalidCastException: System.Web.UI.PartialCachingControl - MyCustomControl" exception is thrown. I am unable to modify assembly witch contains dynamic loading controls logic. Is there any way to fix it in derived controls? The second question is about iis7 and native output caching - is it resolves this problem? (I tried to set up several performance counters and I saw that cache wasn't hit...)

• A question about making a C# class persistant during a file load

  Apologies for the indescriptive title, however it's the best I could think of for the moment. Basically, I've written a singleton class that loads files into a database. These files are typically large, and take hours to process. What I am looking for is to make a method where I can have this class running, and be able to call methods from within it, even if it's calling class is shut down. The singleton class is simple. It starts a thread that loads the file into the database, while having methods to report on the current status. In a nutshell it's al little like this: public sealed class BulkFileLoader { static BulkFileLoader instance = null; int currentCount = 0; BulkFileLoader() public static BulkFileLoader Instance { // Instanciate the instance class if necessary, and return it } public void Go() { // kick of 'ProcessFile' thread } public void GetCurrentCount() { return currentCount; } private void ProcessFile() { while (more rows in the import file) { // insert the row into the database currentCount++; } } } The idea is that you can get an instance of BulkFileLoader to execute, which will process a file to load, while at any time you can get realtime updates on the number of rows its done so far using the GetCurrentCount() method. This works fine, except the calling class needs to stay open the whole time for the processing to continue. As soon as I stop the calling class, the BulkFileLoader instance is removed, and it stops processing the file. What I am after is a solution where it will continue to run independently, regardless of what happens to the calling class. I then tried another approach. I created a simple console application that kicks off the BulkFileLoader, and then wrapped it around as a process. This fixes one problem, since now when I kick off the process, the file will continue to load even if I close the class that called the process. However, now the problem I have is that cannot get updates on the current count, since if I try and get the instance of BulkFileLoader (which, as mentioned before is a singleton), it creates a new instance, rather than returning the instance that is currently in the executing process. It would appear that singletons don't extend into the scope of other processes running on the machine. In the end, I want to be able to kick off the BulkFileLoader, and at any time be able to find out how many rows it's processed. However, that is even if I close the application I used to start it. Can anyone see a solution to my problem?
