• HELP ME !! I am Not able to update form data to mysql using php and jquery

  i tired and was unable to find the answer i am looking for an answer. my problem is that i am unable to update the values enterd in the form. I have attached all the files i'm using MYSQL database to fetch data. what happens is that i'm able to add and delete records from form using jquery and PHP scripts to MYSQL database, but i am not able to update data which was retrived from database. the file structure is as follows index.php is a file with jquery functions where it displays form for adding new data to MYSQL using save.php file and list of all records are view without refrishing page (calling load-list.php to view all records from index.php works fine, and save.php to save data from form) - Delete is an function called from index.php to delete record from mysql database (function calling delete.php works fine) - Update is an function called from index.php to update data using update-form.php by retriving specific record from mysql tabel, (works fine) Problem lies in updating data from update-form.php to update.php (in which update query is wrriten for mysql) i had tried in many ways at last i had figured out that data is not being transfred from update-form.php to update.php there is a small problem in jquery ajax function where it is not transfering data to update.php page. some thing is missing in calling update.php page it is not entering into that page I am new bee in programming i had collected this script from many forums and made this one.So i was limited in solving this problem i cam to know that this is good platform for me and many where we get a help to create new things.. please guide me with your help to complete my effors !!!!! i will be greatfull to all including ths site which gave me an oppurtunity to present my self..... please find the link below to download all files which is of 35kb (virus free assurance) download mysmallform files in ZIPped format, including mysql query thanks a lot in advance, May GOD bless YOU and THIS SITE

• Performance improvement of client server system

  I have a legacy client server system where the server maintains a record of some data stored in a sqlite database. The data is related to monitoring access patterns of files stored on the server. The client application is basically a remote viewer of the data. When the client is launched, it connects to the server and gets the data from the server to display in a grid view. The data gets updated in real time on the server and the view in the client automatically gets refreshed. There are two problems with the current implementation: When the database gets too big, it takes a lot of time to load the client. What are the best ways to deal with this. One option is to maintain a cache at the client side. How to best implement a cache ? How can the server maintain a diff so that it only sends the diff during the refresh cycle. There can be multiple clients and each client needs to display the latest data available on the server. The server is a windows service daemon. Both the client and the server are implemented in C#

• camera picturecallback intent not work

  After I take the photo, the program automatically goes back like onBackPressed(). When I remove the putExtra, the intent runs. When I put startActivity() after takePicture(), it transfers null data.... I just want to put the image data to another activity to have other use. • Formating a table date field from the Model in Codeigniter

  Hi, I', trying to re-format a date from a table in Codeigniter. The Controller is for a blog. I was succesfull when the date conversion happens in the View. I was hoping to convert the date in the Model to have things in order. Here's the date conversion as it happens in the View. • ASP.NET MVC Dropdownlist retain the selected value in the browser after post

• Not able to play videos (from youtube) in WebView

  I am using a webview to display a video (could be from youtube or vimeo) in my app. In order to not load the video webpages in the default Android Browser, I am also extending the WebViewClient so I can override the shouldOverrideUrlLoading method. This way the video webpage loads successfully in the WebView. However, when I click on the embedded video on the WebView, it does not play. If I do not override the shouldOverrideUrlLoading method, and let the video webpages load in the default Android browser, the videos work just fine. Any ideas why the videos are not working in the WebView? Also, the main reason why I overrode the shouldOverrideUrlLoading method is because if I do not do that, then when I exit the Android browser to come back to my activity (by hitting the back button on the phone), I see a white screen. Upon hitting the back button twice, I am able to get back to my Activity. I am using the emulator to do this test. • How to customize the printing while using Window.print ?

  i want to print a invoice and i use a print.css by media=print and when i change the current stylesheet to print.css i could able to view what i should be printing without the titles and content left aligned. But still while i'm printing there is space in the top and left and its taking up whole a4 sheet and also the whole width of the page.. But i've defined a body width of just 550 px. While i view to print preview, it takes the whole width instead of taking up 1/3 of the width.. • MVVM and avoiding Monolithic God object

  I am in the completion stage of a large project that has several large components: image acquisition, image processing, data storage, factory I/O (automation project) and several others. Each of these components is reasonably independent, but for the project to run as a whole I need at least one instance of each component. Each component also has a ViewModel and View (WPF) for monitoring status and changing things. My question is the safest, most efficient, and most maintainable method of instantiating all of these objects, subscribing one class to an Event in another, and having a common ViewModel and View for all of this. Would it best if I have a class called God that has a private instance of all of these objects? I've done this in the past and regretted it. Or would it be better if God relied on Singleton instances of these objects to get the ball rolling. Alternatively, should Program.cs (or wherever Main(...) is) instantiate all of these components, and pass them to God as parameters and then let Him (snicker) and His ViewModel deal with the particulars of running this projects. Any other suggestions I would love to hear. Thank you!

  Hello, I'm having trouble with my programming style and I hope to get some feedback here. I recently bought Javascript: The Good Parts and while I find this a big help, I'm still having trouble designing this application. Especially when it comes to writing function and methods. Have I to do some big structure in my view (with all related tables), cache it and send to template?

• How do I switch out Views in a Cocoa application?

  So I'm beginning to learn how to use Cocoa. I think I've pretty much got it but I'm hung up on creating and switching views. I'm rewriting a game I made a little bit ago for practice. All I want is one window (preferably not resizable) and I want to be able to switch out views for different screens in the game. First, I have the main menu (Start Game, High Scores, Exit). Then I need a window for each screen (Gameplay screen, Highscore screen). What I'm getting confused with is how to design this. I looked up NSViewController thinking it manages views but it doesn't. It only manages one view by loading it really. I don't understand why I'd need to use NSViewController then. Couldn't I just have a window class that contains multiple subclasses of NSView and load them like that? I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the ViewController. Does my Window Class really need to subclass NSWindowController? I was trying to follow the example of Apple's ViewController example and it has a window controller class that's a subclass of NSWindowController. I don't see what the purpose was of subclassing that. All NSWindowController seems to add is - initWithPath:(NSString *)newPath but I fail to see the use in that either when I can just edit the plist file to open the window on start up. Apple's example also has an NSView variable and an NSViewController variable. Don't you only need one variable to store the current view? Thanks in advance guys, I'm really confused as to how this works.

  Hi I am writing an iPhone app that that is trying to create a second a view when the user clicks on an element in UITableView. Last line in above code segment calls some framework code which eventually calls the viewDidLoad method of the ReplyToViewController. Address of the reply object in the above code and the address of the object in viewDidLoad is not same. Any idea where this new object is coming from? How do I debug? I also added init method the following method in ReplyToViewController hoping that it will get called and I can find who is creating this new object. But it does not stop in this method. • drupal hook_menu_alter9) for adding tabs

  I want to add some tabs in the "node/%/edit" page from my module called "cssswitch". When I click "Rebuild Menus", the two new tabs are displayed, but they are displayed for ALL nodes when editing them, not just for the node "cssswitch". I want these new tabs to be displayed only when editing node of type "cssswitch". The other problem is when I clear all cache, the tabs completely dissapear from all edit pages. • MapView EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) and KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS

  I'm having some 'issues' with my application... well, it crashes in an UIViewController that is presented modally, there the user enters information through UITextFields and his location is tracked by a MapView. Lets call this view controller "MapViewController" When the user submits the form, I call a different ViewController - modally again - that processes this info and a third one answers accordingly, then go back to a MenuVC using unwinding segues, which then calls MapViewController and so on. This sequence is repeated many times, but it always crashes in MapViewController. Looking at the crash log, I think that the MapView can be the problem of this or some element in the UI (because of the UIKit framework). I tried to use NSZombie in order to track a memory issue but it doesn't give me a clue about whats happening.   Hello, I'm a .NET programmer. I've never developed anything in MFC. Currently I had to write a C++ application (console) for some image processing task. I finished writing it. But the point is I need to design GUI also for this. Well, there won't be anything complex. Just a window with few Buttons, RadioButtons, Check Boxes, PicturesBox & few sliders. thats it. I'm using VS 2008 and was expecting a .NET style form designer. Just to test, I created a MFC project (with all default configuration) and these files were created by default: ChildFrm.cpp MainFrm.cpp mfc.cpp mfcDoc.cpp mfcView.cpp stdafx.cpp Now, I'm unable to find a Designer. There is no View Designer. I've opened all the above *.cpp and in the code editor right clicked to see "Designer View". ToolBox is just empty because I'm in code editor mode. When I built the project. This is the window I get. How to open a designer?

I have googled and searched on stackoverflow for a solution and I am using this code that is given everywhere: UIStoryboard *storyboard = [UIStoryboard storyboardWithName:@"MainStoryboard" bundle:nil]; YourViewController * yourView = (YourViewController *)[storyboard instantiateViewControllerWithIdentifier:@"identifier ID"]; I have created an identifier for my storyboard as well. However, I am not being redirected to the storyboard no matter what I try. When the login finishes, I go back to my main View Controller (xib). I should be instead redirected to the storyboard. Here is what my code looks like in a file called ProfileTabView.m: -(void) loginViewDidFinish:(NSNotification*)notification { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] removeObserver:self]; UIStoryboard* storyboard = [UIStoryboard storyboardWithName:@"Storyboard" bundle:nil]; ProfileTabView * yourView = (ProfileTabView *)[storyboard instantiateViewControllerWithIdentifier:@"myID"]; } I have implemeted this code in the function that gets called once the login is successful. However, the storyboard "Storyboard" never gets called. Am i doing this right? Am I supposed to be writing this code anywhere else? Thanks a lot for any help :)

• Rails: Can't set or update tag_list using a text field with acts_as_taggable_on

  Hey everyone, I'm trying to add tagging to a rails photo gallery system I'm working on. It works from the back-end, but if I try to set or change it in the form view, it doesn't work. I added acts_as_taggable to the photo model and did the migrations. My gallery builder is programmed to add one tag automatically to each photo it creates. This works fine, just as if it were setting it for the console. However, I can't seem to set tags using a text_field in the photo form. Here's the code I added to my photo form: <p> <%= f.label :tag_list %><br /> <%= f.text_field :tag_list %> </p> Now, that's pretty trivial, and since :tag_list supports single-string comma-separated assignment (e.g. tag_list = "this, that, the other" #= ['this', 'that', 'the other']), I don't see why using a text field doesn't work. And to make even less sense, if a tag list has already been populated, the list will still show up in the text field when editing the photo. I just can't seem to commit any changes to the list. The documentation on their github page doesn't appear to give any information on how to set these values from the view. Any ideas? Oh, and I'm using the Rails 3 gem version.

• Database for managing large volumes of (system) metrics

  Hi, I'm looking at building a system for managing and reporting stats on web page performance. I'll be collecting a lot more stats than are available in the standard log formats (approx 20 metrics) but compared to most types of database applications, the base data structure will be very simple. My problem is that I'll be accumulating a lot of data - in the region of 100,000 records (i.e. sets of metrics) per hour. Of course, resources are very limited! So that its possible to sensibly interact with the data, I'd need to consolidate each metric into one minute bins, broken down by URL, then for anything more than 1 day old, consolidated into 10 minute bins, then at 1 week, hourly bins. At the front end, I want to provide a view (prefereably as plots) of the last hour of data, with the facility for users to drill up/down through defined hierarchies of URLs (which do not always map directly to the hierarchy expressed in the path of the URL) and to view different time frames. Rather than coding all this myself and using a relational database, I was wondering if there were tools available which would facilitate both the management of the data and the reporting. I had a look at Mondrian however I can't see from the documentation I've looked at whether it's possible to drop the more granular information while maintaining the consolidated views of the data. RRDTool looks promising in terms of managing the data consolidation, but seems to be rather limited in terms of querying the dataset as a multi-dimensional/relational database. What else whould I be looking at?

• My list item's child label elements disappear in IE on accordion menu opening

  I've got an app that's working pretty flawlessly in Chrome and FF, however, when I view it in IE, all is well until I click on a header element to activate it (jQuery accordion). What happens then is that I see a brief flash where the content is there, then suddenly the entire left column disappears. This column is generated by a floated label element with a class of ".left" as seen below... <ul class="menu collapsible"> <li class='expand sectionTitle'><a href='#'>General Settings</a> <ul class='acitem'> <li class="section"> <label class="left">This item if floated left with a defined width of 190px via css. This is the item that's disappearing after a brief display</label> <input class="input" value="input element here" /> <label class="description">This element has a margin-left:212px; set via css in order to be positioned to the right of the label element as if in an adjacent table cell. When I add a max-width property to this element, it disappears in IE too!</label> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> As you can see from the comments in the code above (for the two label elements) the description label disappears once I set a max-width on it (I don't have a max-width on the left label element, but it disappears nonetheless). The initial view of this UL menu is fine (note the expand class declaration which makes this part of the accordion open at startup. Its not until I click the "General Settings" to toggle it closed, then back open, that the left class elements disappear (and only in IE)

• Want to mimic iphone address book search (In terms of interface & interaction)

  Hi, When you do a search in the address book the flow is: 1) Select the search bar 2) The right most transparent a-z index is removed 3) A transparent black window is placed over the current UITableView 4) When you begin typing, a new UITableView is loaded with no data 5) The UITableView is populated with data as you type. 6) If you select an item you are brought to it 7) If you cancel the search you return to the main UITalbeView My first real question is, how do I load a new UITableView when a user begins searching? Is it as easy as popping a new view on the stack? It would then be a seperate .m/.h file with its own implementation? The second question is how do you remove the right most index? Or just that just go away when you render the new (blank) UITableView? I've gotten search working, but mine does it in the same UITableView, which when you start contains like 2K results, is grouped (A results under A Heading, etc) and has a right most index. I'd be happy leaving the results in the table, if I could; 1) Remove the rightmost a-z index 2) Drop the table groupings 3) Tell the view I only have N search results so it will build the scroll bar correctly.
