• jQuery Resizable() UI Problem

  In general, resizable() works fine. Here is where I am getting into an issue. I have a div that contains some resizable items that work fine (resizable() applied to them at some point). user can save items for later view (the innerHTML of the div gets saved into a JavaScript array, then div gets cleared so they can do something else) When items get placed back onto div (from array) -- I do a $('#divname').append(arrayname[i]); -- items are no longer resizable (although visually they have the resizable classes/handle on them) Here is what I have tried so far (none of which have worked): After append() line, I re-initialize the resizable -- $('#items').resizable(); After append() line, remove then re-add resizable -- $('#items').resizable('destroy').resizable(); Any help is appreciated - thanks.

  I'm going to use the sample code from http://gettinggeneticsdone.blogspot.com/2009/11/split-apply-and-combine-in-r-using-plyr.html for this example. So, first, let's copy their example data: mydata=data.frame(X1=rnorm(30), X2=rnorm(30,5,2), SNP1=c(rep("AA",10), rep("Aa",10), rep("aa",10)), SNP2=c(rep("BB",10), rep("Bb",10), rep("bb",10))) I am going to ignore SNP2 in this example and just pretend the values in SNP1 denote group membership. So then, I may want some summary statistics about each group in SNP1: "AA", "Aa", "aa". Then if I want to calculate the means for each variable, it makes sense (modifying their code slightly) to use: > ddply(mydata, c("SNP1"), function(df) data.frame(meanX1=mean(df$X1), meanX2=mean(df$X2))) SNP1 meanX1 meanX2 1 aa 0.05178028 4.812302 2 Aa 0.30586206 4.820739 3 AA -0.26862500 4.856006 But what if I want the sample covariance matrix for each group? Ideally, I would like a 3D array, where the I have the covariance matrix for each group, and the third dimension denotes the corresponding group. Really this is a sliced up version of the covariance matrix for each group. Any thoughts on where I went wrong with daply() or suggestions? Of course, I could typecast the list from dlply() to a 3D array, but I'd rather not do this because I will be repeating this process many times in a simulation. • How should I change my Graph structure (very slow insertion)?

  Hi, This program I'm doing is about a social network, which means there are users and their profiles. The profiles structure is UserProfile. Now, there are various possible Graph implementations and I don't think I'm using the best one. I have a Graph structure and inside, there's a pointer to a linked list of type Vertex. Each Vertex element has a value, a pointer to the next Vertex and a pointer to a linked list of type Edge. Each Edge element has a value (so I can define weights and whatever it's needed), a pointer to the next Edge and a pointer to the Vertex owner. I have a 2 sample files with data to process (in CSV style) and insert into the Graph. The first one is the user data (one user per line); the second one is the user relations (for the graph). The first file is quickly inserted into the graph cause I always insert at the head and there's like ~18000 users. The second file takes ages but I still insert the edges at the head. The file has about ~520000 lines of user relations and takes between 13-15mins to insert into the Graph. I made a quick test and reading the data is pretty quickly, instantaneously really. The problem is in the insertion. This problem exists because I have a Graph implemented with linked lists for the vertices. Every time I need to insert a relation, I need to lookup for 2 vertices, so I can link them together. This is the problem... Doing this for ~520000 relations, takes a while. How should I solve this? Solution 1) Some people recommended me to implement the Graph (the vertices part) as an array instead of a linked list. This way I have direct access to every vertex and the insertion is probably going to drop considerably. But, I don't like the idea of allocating an array with [18000] elements. How practically is this? My sample data has ~18000, but what if I need much less or much more? The linked list approach has that flexibility, I can have whatever size I want as long as there's memory for it. But the array doesn't, how am I going to handle such situation? What are your suggestions? Using linked lists is good for space complexity but bad for time complexity. And using an array is good for time complexity but bad for space complexity. Any thoughts about this solution? Solution 2) This project also demands that I have some sort of data structures that allows quick lookup based on a name index and an ID index. For this I decided to use Hash Tables. My tables are implemented with separate chaining as collision resolution and when a load factor of 0.70 is reach, I normally recreate the table. I base the next table size on this http://planetmath.org/encyclopedia/GoodHashTablePrimes.html. Currently, both Hash Tables hold a pointer to the UserProfile instead of duplication the user profile itself. That would be stupid, changing data would require 3 changes and it's really dumb to do it that way. So I just save the pointer to the UserProfile. The same user profile pointer is also saved as value in each Graph Vertex. So, I have 3 data structures, one Graph and two Hash Tables and every single one of them point to the same exact UserProfile. The Graph structure will serve the purpose of finding the shortest path and stuff like that while the Hash Tables serve as quick index by name and ID. What I'm thinking to solve my Graph problem is to, instead of having the Hash Tables value point to the UserProfile, I point it to the corresponding Vertex. It's still a pointer, no more and no less space is used, I just change what I point to. Like this, I can easily and quickly lookup for each Vertex I need and link them together. This will insert the ~520000 relations pretty quickly. I thought of this solution because I already have the Hash Tables and I need to have them, then, why not take advantage of them for indexing the Graph vertices instead of the user profile? It's basically the same thing, I can still access the UserProfile pretty quickly, just go to the Vertex and then to the UserProfile. But, do you see any cons on this second solution against the first one? Or only pros that overpower the pros and cons on the first solution? Other Solution) If you have any other solution, I'm all ears. But please explain the pros and cons of that solution over the previous 2. I really don't have much time to be wasting with this right now, I need to move on with this project, so, if I'm doing to do such a change, I need to understand exactly what to change and if that's really the way to go. Hopefully no one fell asleep reading this and closed the browser, sorry for the big testament. But I really need to decide what to do about this and I really need to make a change. P.S: When answering my proposed solutions, please enumerate them as I did so I know exactly what are you talking about and don't confuse my self more than I already am.

• How to make multiple queries with PHP prepared statements (Commands out of sync error)

  I'm trying to run three MySQL queries from a PHP script, the first one works fine, but on the second one I get the "Commands out of sync; you can’t run this command now" error. I have managed to understand that I need to "empty" the resultset before preparing a new query but I can't seem to understand how. I thought that $statement-close; would do that for me.   I have written a query in Powershell interrogating a F5 BIG-IP box through it's iControl API to bring back CPU usage etc. Using this code (see below) I can return the data back into a CSV format which is fine. However the $csvdata variable contains all the data. I need to be able to take this variable and for each line split each column of data into a seperate variable. • MS-Access nested DIR - check if a file exists elsewhere whilst looping through a folder

  I have used the DIR() command in Microsoft Access 2003 to loop through the files in folder A. This works fine, but I need to check if each file also exists in another location (folder B), and only process the file if it doesn't exist in folder B. The problem is that checking for the file existing in folder B also uses the DIR() function and this then resets or confuses the original one, with the result that no further files are found in folder A. Is there a way to check if a file exists without using DIR? Or, is there a way to have a separate instance of DIR? I suppose I could build a list of the files in folder A into an array and then process the entries in the array, but this seems rather 'clunky' Any suggestions for a better solution? Thanks

• Zend_Auth using multiple tables

  What I'm trying to do is use Zend_Auth for authentication with the issuing being that the 'identity' is stored in a different table then then 'credential.' I'm able to pass an array for the credential and the identity but when it comes to the actual tables I'm not able to get it to accept the array. It ignores the 2nd table name. I was wondering if anyone has ever made this work in this way without extending the Zend_Auth class or if I will need to do so. Thanks in advance.

• Mailer issue, PHP values do not change

  I have a script that runs once every month and send out stats to clients, now the stats are displayed in normal text and in the shape of a Pie Graph, now if I run the script mannually from the command line all info on the graphs are correct, but when the cron job executes the script the values for the first client are displaying on the graphs of all clients. but the text is correct. • Saving jQuery UI Sortable's order to Backbone.js Collection

  I have a Backbone.js collection that I would like to be able to sort using jQuery UI's Sortable. Nothing fancy, I just have a list that I would like to be able to sort. The problem is that I'm not sure how to get the current order of items after being sorted and communicate that to the collection. Sortable can serialize itself, but that won't give me the model data I need to give to the collection. Ideally, I'd like to be able to just get an array of the current order of the models in the collection and use the reset method for the collection, but I'm not sure how to get the current order. Please share any ideas or examples for getting an array with the current model order.

  I need to check in Java if a word consists of unique letters (case insensitive). As straight solution is boring, I came up with: For every char in a string check if indexOf(char) == lastIndexOf(char). Add all chars to HashSet and check if set size == string length. Convert a string to a char array, sort it alphabetically, loop through array elements and check if c[i] == c[i+1]. Currently I like #2 the most, seems like the easiest way. Any other interesting solutions?

  Is there a way for me to include a simple array of strings, or List<string> on my custom subclass of ConfigurationSection? (Or an array or generic list of simple data objects, for that matter?) I'm becoming familiar with the new (and VERY verbose) ConfigurationSection, ConfigurationElement, and ConfigurationElementCollection classes, but I'm by no means an expert yet. It seems like ConfigurationSection should handle simple collections/lists on its own, without me having to create a custom ConfigurationElementCollection subclass for each and every one. But I haven't found any reference to this ability online.

• CakePHP: How do I order results based on a 2-level deep association model?

  I'm hoping I won't need to resort to custom queries. A related question would be: how do I retrieve data so that if an associated model is empty, no record is retrieved at all, as opposed to an empty array for an associated model? As an oversimplified example, say I have the following models: City -- Street -- House How do I sort City results by House numbers? How do I retrieve City restuls that have at least one House in it? I don't want a record with a city name and details and an empty House array as it messes up pagination results. CakePHP retrieves House records belonging to the Street in a separate query, so putting somthing like 'House.number DESC' into the 'order' field of the search query returns a 'field does not exist' error. Any ideas?

  A class has a property (and instance var) of type NSMutableArray with synthesized accessors (via @property). If you observe this array using: [myObj addObserver:self forKeyPath:@"theArray" options:0 context:NULL]; And then insert an object in the array like this: [[myObj theArray] addObject:[NSString string]]; An observeValueForKeyPath... notification is not sent. However, the following does send the proper notification: [[myObj mutableArrayValueForKey:@"theArray"] addObject:[NSString string]]; This is because mutableArrayValueForKey returns a proxy object that takes care of notifying observers. But shouldn't the synthesized accessors automatically return such a proxy object? What's the proper way to work around this--should I write a custom accessor that just invokes [super mutableArrayValueForKey...]?

• Why wont this sort in Solr work?

  I need to sort on a date-field type, which name is "mod_date". It works like this in the browser adress-bar: http://localhost:8983/solr/select/?&q=bmw&sort=mod_date+desc But I am using a phpSolr client which sends an URL to Solr, and the url sent is this: fq=+category%3A%22Bilar%22+%2B+car_action%3AS%C3%A4ljes&version=1.2&wt=json&json.nl=map&q=%2A%3A%2A&start=0&rows=5&sort=mod_date+desc // This wont work and is echoed after this in php: $queryString = http_build_query($params, null, $this->_queryStringDelimiter); $queryString = preg_replace('/%5B(?:[0-9]|[1-9][0-9]+)%5D=/', '=', $queryString); This wont work, I dont know why! Everything else works fine, all right fields are returned. But the sort doesn't work. Any ideas? So this is the way I need to get to work (via php). This code below (also on top of this Q) works but thats because I paste it into the adress bar manually, not via the PHPclient. But thats just for debugging, I need to get it to work via the PHPclient: http://localhost:8983/solr/select/?&q=bmw&sort=mod_date+des // Not via phpclient, but works UPDATE (2010-03-08): I have tried Donovans codes (the urls) and they work fine. Now, I have noticed that it is one of the parameters causing the 'SORT' not to work. This parameter is the "wt" parameter. If we take the url from top of this Q, (fq=+category%3A%22Bilar%22+%2B+car_action%3AS%C3%A4ljes&version=1.2&wt=json&json.nl=map&q=%2A%3A%2A&start=0&rows=5&sort=mod_date+desc), and just simply remove the "wt" parameter, then the sort works. BUT the results appear differently, thus making my php code not able to recognize the results I believe. Donovan would know this I think. I am guessing in order for the PHPClient to work, the results must be in a specific structure, which gets messed up as soon as I remove the wt parameter. Donovan, help me please... Here is some background what I use your SolrPhpClient for: I have a classifieds website, which uses MySql. But for the searching I am using Solr to search some indexed fields. Then Solr returns an array of ID:numbers (for all matches of the search criteria). Then I use those ID:numbers to find everything in a MySql db and fetch all other information (example is not searchable information). So simplified: Search - Solr returns all matches in an array of ID:nrs - Id:numbers from Solr are the same as the Id numbers in the MySql db, so I can just make a simple match agains every record with the ID matching the ID from the Solr results array. I don't use Faceting, no boosting, no relevancy or other fancy stuff. I only sort by the latest classified put, and give the option to users to also sort on the cheapest price. Nothing more. Then I use the "fq" parameter to do queries on different fields in Solr depending on category chosen by users (example "cars" in this case which in my language is "Bilar"). I am really stuck with this problem here... Thanks for all help

• Converting numbers to their language, how?

  Ok, I'm using mathematical equations to output numbers, though, I need this to be compatible for all languages. Currently, all language strings are within a php array called $txt, and each key of the array gets called for that language. I'm outputting the following: Column 1, Column 2, Column 3, and so on, as well as Row 1, Row 2, Row 3, and so on. The calculations are done via php and javascript, so I'm wondering on the best approach for how to support all languages for the numbers only. I don't do the translations, someone else does, but I need to be able to point it to, either the php variable $txt of where the language is defined, or, since the calculations are done via javascript also, I need to somehow store this in there.   Greetings, Just getting into PHP web development. I've got an HTML form where a user checks some series of dynamically-generated checkboxes, and submits via POST. On the PHP side, I want to check which of the check-boxes were clicked. I have an array $full_list, and am doing something like $selected_checkboxes = array_filter($full_list, function($item) { array_key_exists($item, $_POST); } I run into problems when a list item is named, for example "Peanut Butter", since in the POST array it is named "Peanut_Butter". I could certainly just str_replace " " with "_" before checking array_key_exists, but I imagine that there is a more fundamental encoding problem here; specifically, I'm not sure of exactly what layer transforms normal strings in HTML Forms (value="Peanut Butter") into "Peanut_Butter". So: what layer is responsible for this conversion? Is it the browser? what are the exact conversion rules, and is there a PHP function out there that will replicate that exact conversion? Thanks!

  I am trying to integrated my IOS 7 application with Facebook SDK I following this official tutorial https://developers.facebook.com/docs/ios/getting-started which states Configure the .plist Follow these three steps: Create a key called FacebookAppID with a string value, and add the app ID there. Create a key called FacebookDisplayName with a string value, and add the Display Name you configured in the App Dashboard. Create an array key called URL types with a single array sub-item called URL Schemes. Give this a single item with your app ID prefixed with fb. This is used to ensure the application will receive the callback URL of the web-based OAuth flow. The finished .plist should look something like this: My question is where to put these values? They already put this image, maybe it helps you to answer me Edit The problem that I don't have any plist file in my framework in xcode and I can't add a new one because if i did, I would have to add all the variables that you see in the image but the tutorial just stated about some of them

• embed multiple youtube videos to chromeless player cue

  So in the project ive been working on i use the youtube API to add a video to a chromeless player (got custom buttons, everything works no problems). It loads the youtube id which it gets from the database (Codeigniter, PHP). But what i would like to see is: instead of loading 1 video, id like to add all the videos i get from the database in the cue of that one player. So only one screen, first video retrieved from dbase gets played first, when its done second get loaded preferably also looped. Is there any way i can achieve this? My first guess would be to save the array with youtube id's somewhere and on state change (when the 'video stop'-event gets fired) load the next id from the array. Havent tried this yet because id prefer if the cue gets just gets filled on the init, so it doesnt have to load after a video has been ended. Is This possible?
