  • LINQ-to-SQL and SQL Compact - database file sharing problem

    Hello. I'm learing LINQ-to-SQL right now and i have wrote a simple application that define SQL data: [Table( Name = "items" )] public class Item { [ Column( IsPrimaryKey = true, IsDbGenerated = true ) ] public int Id; [ Column ] public string Name; } I have launched 2 copy of application connected to the same .sdf file and tested if all database modifications in one application affects another application. But strange thing arise. If i use InsertOnSubmit() and DeleteOnSubmit() in one application, added/removed items are instantly visible in other application via 'select' LINQ queue. But if i try to modify 'Name' field in one application, it is NOT visible in other applicaton until it reconnects the database :(. The test code i use: var Items = from c in db.Items where Id == c.Id select c; foreach( var Item in Items ) { Item.Name = "new name"; break; } db.SubmitChanges(); Can anyone suggest what i'm doing wrong and why InsertOnSubmit()/DeleteOnSubmit works and SubmitChanges() don't?

    Hello, I've been trying to figure out how to add a private member from Object A, to a private member from Object B. Both Cat and Dog Class's inheriate from the base class Animal. I have a thrid class 'MyClass', that I want to inheriate the private members of the Cat and Dog class. So in MyClass, I have a friend function to overload the + operator. I am using "ftp" command in AIX. when I use, open public.dhe.ibm.com It's prompting for username/password. But no information regarding this is given on the linked page.     Given the following tables: Product ----------- ProductId : int (PK) ProductVersion : int ProductHistory ----------- ProductId : int (PK) ProductVersion : int (PK) Item ----------- ItemId : int (PK) ProductId : int (FK) -- ProductId + ProductVersion relates to ProductHistory ProductVersion : int (FK) And the following classes: public class Product { } public class Item { public Product Product { get; set; } } What I want to happen is this; we get a Product from the Product table, assign it to Item.Product property. But that Item.Product property should map to ProductHistory. The idea is that only the latest version of a product is in the main Product table, so we allow customers to search against that table (so that if each product has 4 versions and there are 1000 products, we only need to query though 1000 products, not 1000 products * 4 versions of each).     Hi, Firstly this has turned out to be quite a long post so please bear with me as its not too difficult but you may need to clarify something with me if i haven't explained it correctly. So with some help the other day from guys on this forum, i managed to partially set up my 'mapClass' class, but i'm having trouble with it and its not running correctly so i would like some help if possible. I will post the code below so you can see. What Ive got is a 'Dundrum' class which sets up the listView for an array of items. Then ive got a 'dundrumSelector' class which I use to set up the setOnClickListener() methods on the listItems and link them to their correct views. The onClick() events don't even work from the listView to get into the correct views. I have to comment out the methods in 'DundrumSelector' before I can get into their views. And this is what I dont understand, firstly why wont the onClick() events work, because its not even on that next view where the map is. I know this is a very long post and it might be quite confusing so let me know if you want any clarification.. Just to recap, what i'm trying to do is just have one class that sets up the map coordinates, like what i'm trying to do in my 'mapClass'.   • Why is the EntityManager in my GAE + Spring (+graniteds) project reset to null?

    Hi all, I'm having a problem with autowiring my EntityManager. Actually at server startup I can see that the injection works ok, though when trying to use my EntityManager it appears to be null again. @Component public class DataDaoImpl { protected EntityManager entityManager; @Autowired public void setEntityManager(EntityManager entityManager) { System.out.println("Injecting "+entityManager); //works! this.entityManager = entityManager; } public void createData(String key, String value) { System.out.println("In createData entityManager is "+entityManager); //entityManager null!? ... Output: Injecting org.datanucleus.store.appengine.jpa.DatastoreEntityManager@a60d19 The server is running at http://localhost:8888/ In createData entityManager is null So somehow the autowired entityManager is reset to null when trying to use it.     Hey, I understand that using the facebook API I need an api key to connect, but I still don't understand how i would go about doing this, and how can i retrieve information upon users using the API (i'm only interested in retrieving the information that is publicly available e.g: username, birthdate, and other info that a specific user left public) I downloaded the facebook development kit, and tried adding the FacebookService control, but i don't get it... All the examples/samples i found on the internet are older than the version i have and therefore work a little different.. Can someone please post an example of how i would connect, using a certain API key, and retrieve someones public info/public photos (if there are any) ?? Thanks. :)

    In windows XP, you can add a shortcut to the start menu or desktop for all users by copying/moving the shortcut to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users[Desktop|Start Menu] I know same is the case in Windows 7 with a slightly different path (C:\Users\Public). However I'm still trying to find out how to add a 'shortcut' for all users. There is no C:\Users\Public\Taskbar. Any ideas? Or is it just not available as a feature?

    STDOUT can not return to Screen Hello all below is the part of my code, my code enters "if loop" with $value =1 and output of the process "iperf.exe" is getting into my_output.txt. For the server side, I use easyphp (very similar to wamp) When I create the project, I obviously obtain this architecture: MyProject |-- application | |-- Bootstrap.php | |-- configs | | `-- application.ini | |-- controllers | | |-- ErrorController.php | | `-- IndexController.php | |-- models | `-- views | |-- helpers | `-- scripts | |-- error | | `-- error.phtml | `-- index | `-- index.phtml |-- library |-- public | |-- .htaccess | `-- index.php `-- tests |-- application | `-- bootstrap.php |-- library | `-- bootstrap.php `-- phpunit.xml To launch the project, I enter: http://127.0.0.1/MonProjet/public/index.php But when I create a new controller (TestController.php) and the associated view (application.views/test/index.phtml) and when I enter: http://127.0.0.1/MonProjet/public/test the browser returns the error : object not found (404). although I activated the mod_rewrite LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so So, how can I set the routing mechanism to reach the new controllers and their views?
