  • Django 1.2: Dates in admin forms don't work with Locales (I10N=True)

    I have an application in Django 1.2. Language is selectable (I18N and Locale = True) When I select the english lang. in the site, the admin works OK. But when I change to any other language this is what happens with date inputs (spanish example): Correctly, the input accepts the spanish format %d/%m/%Y (Even selecting from the calendar, the date inserts as expected). But when I save the form and load it again, the date shows in the english form: %Y-%m-%d The real problem is that when I load the form to change any other text field and try to save it I get an error telling me to enter a valid date, so I have to write all dates again or change the language in the site to use the admin. I haven't specified anything for DATE_INPUT_FORMATS in settings nor have I overridden forms or models. Surely I am missing something but I can't find it. Can anybody give me a hint?

    How can I use jQuery for messing with a particular div, but not in the current document - in a variable, that contains HTML? The point is that I want to show a preview of a page (a piece of it's content) in a modal window, when the link to this page is clicked. Well, onClick I load this whole HTML into a variable via JSON and then... how would I find a particular div I need in it? It's gonna be almost impossible to parse it with PHP before converting it into JSON and giving back to jQuery processor because of a deep hierarchy. Basically, is it even possible to do smth like $( 'div#some-id' ).blabla(); not for the current document, but for the document, stored in a variable? Thx everyone in advance.

When they submit, I have a jQuery callback to serialize all ids. I want to stick those ids into an http request parameter called, "ids" so that I can grab them easily. I figured I could do the following var ids = $("#downloadall").serializeArray(); Then I would need to take each of the ids and add them to a request param called ids. But is there a "standard" way to do this? Like using jQuery?

    Need to find gap between start and end dates more than 20 days for multiple data ranges with overlaps. One Id has multiple start dates and end dates. Following Id 1 has two gaps less that 20 day. It should be considered as one range from 10/01/2012 to 10/30/2014 without any gap. 1 10/01/2012 02/01/2013 1 01/01/2013 01/31/2013 1 02/10/2013 03/31/2013 1 04/15/2013 10/30/2014 Id 2 has a gap more than 20 days between end date 01/30/2013 and start date 05/01/2013. It has to be captured. 2 01/01/2013 01/30/2013 2 05/01/2013 06/30/2014 2 07/01/2013 02/01/2014 Id 3 should be considered as one range from 01/01/2012 to 06/01/2014 without any gap. The gap between end date 02/28/2013 and start date 07/01/2013 should be ignored because range from 01/01/2012 to 01/01/2014 cavers a gap. 3 01/01/2012 01/01/2014 3 01/01/2013 02/28/2013 3 07/01/2013 06/01/2014 The cursor can do it but it works extremely slow and not acceptable.     Hi, let's say I have this set of HTML-markup and CSS #CSS .inputhelp_text { background: #000; color: #fff; } .nodisplay { display: none; } <input class="inputhelp" id="firstname" /><span class="inputhelp_text nodisplay" id="help_firstname">Write in your firstname</span> <input class="inputhelp" id="lastname" /><span class="inputhelp_text nodisplay" id="help_lastname">Write in your lastname</span> Using jQuery, I need to bind a function to all input fields (I guess using jQuery's EACH function) so that when I click the input field, it should switch the class of each span to only "inputhelp_text". I've gotten this to work in two separate functions for each field, but since I have alot of fields, I know there's a better way to solve it. Any suggestions?

    Hi all I'm stuck. Tried all the angles but i cant seem to get it working. I have 2 inline calendars. When i select a date from the dtFrm calendar it sets the date on the dtTo calendar as expected. I just cant seem to set the EndDate of the dtTo calendar. Anyone manage to solve this one? Thanks!   • [jQuery] Any HTML tags inside of tooltip cause basic tooltip to close on hover.

    Hi. I'm new to jQuery, in fact any kind of AJAX / JavsScript (although not new to PHP, xHTML and CSS). Anyway I'm trying to achieve a "tooltip-like" effect, where I can hover over a div...the new div fades in above it and then when I exit the div the "tooltip" fades out. So here's the basic jQuery I've managed to scrap together reading the odd guide here and there: $(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in').hover(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').fadeIn('medium'); }); $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').mouseout(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').fadeOut('medium'); }); }); Problem is if I put "any" html tag inside the div that hovers in, the second you roll over it the div fades back out. Any ideas how this can be fixed? Cheers.

I only need the hours but since I have to save date. it appears like this: Date companyWorkStartHour; Date companyWorkEndHour; start hours: 12-12-2001-13:00:00 finish hours: 12-12-2001-18:00:00 I have the timezone of the company and of the user. (my server may be in another timezone). TimeZone userTimeZone; TimeZone companyTimeZone; I need to check if the user's current time (considering his timezone) is within the company working hours (considering the company's time zone). How can I do it? I am struggling for over a week with Java calendar and with no success!

    The relevant snippet of HTML: <span class="a"> <div class="fieldname">Question 1</div> <input type="text" value="" name="q1" /> </span> The relevant jQuery: $.each($('.a'), function(){ $thisField = $('.fieldname', $(this)); }); What exactly is being set to $thisField? If my understanding of multiple selectors in jQuery is correct, it should be grabbing the outer <span> element AND the inner <div> element. But for some reason, if I use $thisField.prepend("hi"); it ends up putting hi right before the text Question 1, but not before <div>. I thought multiple selectors would grab both elements, and that prepend() adds hi to the beginning of BOTH elements, not just the <div>

  • jquery scroll to a px count from top and then set a div to be fixed from the top for the rest of the scroll

    I am looking to change a div's css when i scroll to a certain point down the page, a certain amount of pixels from the top of the page. On page load i would have a div positioned statically. Once I started to scroll down the page and i hit a point from the top (say 100px for demo purposes) i want to change that static div to become fixed like 20px from the top. Which would be done via the css() property of jquery. THis would allow it to stay at that fixed 20px all the way down the page. What jquery property can i use to know when i hit that 100px mark. I want this to also revert once someone gets back to the top so that the div is put back to where it was when the page loaded and not 20px from the top. Any ideas?

    I have a div that is holding a google chart: <div id="chart_div" style="width: 600px; height: 300px;"></div> It has one CSS property: display: none. On the click of a button, I would like to have the chart be displayed using jQuery hide() and show(). It's working, however, the chart's dimensions are set to something different than I have specified and refuse to change to what I have specified. Here is my jquery code: $(document).ready(function(){ var chart = $('#chart_div'); $('#submit').click(function(){ chart.show('slow'); }); }); Let me know if theres any more code you would like to see. By the way, the chart div is not being contained in anything else so that isn't the problem.

    Have you ever taken a look under the hood at the JQuery 1.4 source code and noticed how it's encapsulated in the following way: (function( window, undefined ) { //All the JQuery code here ... })(window); I've read an article on JavaScript Namespacing and another one called "An Important Pair of Parens," so I know some about what's going on here. But I've never seen this particular syntax before. What is that undefined doing there? And why does window need to be passed and then appear at the end again?

    I updated jQuery latest version v1.4.2 and getting 'Could not convert JavaScript argument arg 0' this error. Is the any common fix for this. I found some solution and they are saying that when finding dimension for display none element it will give this error. Also the following fix is working for me Placing this if (!elem || elem == document) elem = document.body above this line var computedStyle = defaultView.getComputedStyle(elem, null); I am not sure this is the proper solution. I first found this bug when using jquery blockUI plugin and after updating that plugin to latest version fixed this issue. Anyone suggest me better solution for this?
