• Outlook mail/calendar items give errors after server migration

  Last Friday our Exchange server was migrated, by our external system administrator, to a new server, with a new server name. Since then we have problems with the calendar/mail items that were created/sent/received on the old server: Reply to mails get bounced if we use auto complete in the To field. If we cancel auto complete and manually enter the (same) e-mail address then there's no problem. Our system administrator says this is because auto complete fills in the old server name (???). Calendar items created on the old server cannot be edited (without an error) and must be recreated if we want to change them. Our system administrator says these problems are normal with a server migration. I cannot believe this. There must be a better way. Am I right?

• Running a home mail server using dynamic dns

  Hi, Is it possible to run an email server on my home box using dynamic dns? The scenario is, I want to auto cc all incoming and outgoing emails from my one account to another, from some server side config instead of configuring email clients for rules. I have tried Google Apps Mail but it doesn't allow auto cc of outgoing emails. After having read tons of blogs, forum messages etc (hope I have been reading the correct info :) ) the only option to achieve what I am needing is to setup my own mail server, but the cost of getting a static IP doesn't fit my budget. Please can someone point me in the correct direction. Platform doesn't matter, I can setup a Windows or Linux server. Many Thanks

  Hello, I am working on a mail client Application for downloading gmail emails, which uses IMAP C-client library. I want to download emails from "ALLMAIL" mailbox folder. as you know ALLMAIL folder consists of Inbox,Sent Mail and Draft Mails. Here my requirement is to distinguish Draft from Inbox and Sent mails. • Mail.app slow to include new messages

  With Leopard I was able to link to the University's Exchange 2003 server with and IMAP connection and mail out directly vie the SMTP client. With Snow Leopard I attempted to update to a full Exchange service (Exchange 2007). Almost all has worked OK (ical, address, etc.) except that new mail posted to my email account, which is visible using a 'web' interface to Exchange remains invisible for some random number of hours. Those who are running the Exchange server have no interest in discussing the problem. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

  Four domain users are part of global security group [email protected] running on Windows Server 2008 Standard and Exchange 2007 as a mail non universal group. Our goal is to create an auto-responder rule, or template that fires at sender. I have created a mail-enabled public folder, with owner permissions for each group member. I have also set up a rule template (response) and I am a little unclear as to the send as permission set, or where to set that up. Can someone please tell me if I am on the right track? Will I have to do each Outlook client machine (whole group!) the same?

• Creating an Exchange mail user

  With Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003, I'm trying to set up a mail user. I've tried to create them with the New User procedure avaliable when right clicking the "My server"/Users and "My server"/MyBusiness/Users/SBSUsers folders but then I can't read its mail. I telnet my server to check the accounts at the pop3 port and when I pass it the user and the pass, I just get "-ERR Unspecified error." Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? I can access without problems the users created by my predecessor, and I've compared my user to match his.

• Sending email with Windows 8 Mail (Modern UI) being blocked by AVG Firewall

  I've setup my Outlook.com email address in Windows 8 Mail (Modern UI) but is unable to send and receive emails when my AVG Internet Security 2012 Business Edition's Firewall is enable. When I disable the firewall, the emails are coming through and are being send. I know that I can most probably open the ports for IMAP on the firewall, but instead I would like to permit the application. Where/how do I find the application path for Windows 8 Mail (Modern UI) to allow all network traffic? (AVG did not show its normal Allow/Disallow notification for 1st time communications) Any advice would be appreciated.

• Comparing outgoing mail options, self hosted VS google apps in my situation

  I am setting up a small site that has the need to be able to programmatically send mail from time to time. Password resets and things like that. I'm already using google apps to handle my domains email, so now i'm left with the decision between setting up basic SMTP services on my server to send "password reset mails and things like that" OR instead to have the software use google apps to send mail. I like the google apps option as it's less stuff to worry about and seems to fit my needs, i'm trying to figure out what the downsides would be? Thanks for any thoughts

• Rewrite (or add) "Sender: " header when MAIL FROM is not the authenticated user

  I need to get Postfix to inspect the MAIL FROM of the envelope and determine whether it matches the authenticated user of the session. If it does not, it should then add or update the "Sender: " header inside the e-mail so that its value is that of the authenticated user. I understand that this can be done using sender_canonical_maps but, having tried a few remedial tests, I'm unable to get it working. More than anything I would like to know whether this is actually possible with Postfix, and secondly whether I am in the right ball park. Lastly, an example of how to do it would be fantastic. Mail that is sent from our public IP (1.2.3.4 - this is the IP of my mailserver) is delivered to the spam folders for providers such as Comcast and yahoo. Currently, our SPF looks like this: v=spf1 ip4:1.2.3.4 mx a:mail.domain.com ?all MX: mail.domain.com.(10) The reverse DNS entry on our ISP is mail.domain.com for our IP The banner HELO response from our server is <220 mail.domain.com Our IP address is NOT blacklisted anywhere, and the Cisco Senderbase gives us a score of Good What is the reason our mail doesn't look legit?

  I am managing a mail server, which will be temporarily closed for three or four days due to the data center maintenance. I want to find a solution to (completely or partly) solve the lost mails during this unavailable period. Because the data volume is huge, it is very hard to migrate it to other data center. One approach I think out is to setup a temporary mail server in other data center, and when new mail received, the mail server automatically sends a return mail to tell the sender "We are temporarily closed for three or four days. Please send the mail later or contact in other means." I am wondering is this approach possible with existed mail server ? Or something better available ? (free solution is preferred for it is only for temporary)

  At work, we use Google Apps to host our e-mail and Outlook to access it. I have a user who recently changed their name. I changed their e-mail address and their account name, but when they send e-mail their old name still appears, no matter whether they send it using Outlook or the gmail web client. For example, e-mail from them in the Gmail web client reads Oldname [email protected] instead of Newname [email protected]. I'm trying to make the user's new name show up when they send an e-mail. Where is the sender's name stored? Is it a part of the e-mail specification, stored in some header somewhere, or is it stored in the e-mail client? If it's possible, how do you change the sender's name in Gmail?

  Hi, Just installed ClearOS on a PC to act as our firewall firstly and then to act as an internal mailserver. My question is: Can i create a mailserver that then routes the mail through to our ISP mail server without having to contact the ISP and gain MX records etc..? There are various Ticket packages for example: 5-$5 tickets = receive 10% off 5-$10 tickets = receive 10% off 5-$20 tickets = receive 10% off 5-$5 tickets + 5-$10 tickets + 5-$20 tickets = receive 15% off When users add tickets to their cart, i need to figure out the cheapest package(s) to give them. the trick is that if a user adds 4-$5 tickets + 5-$10 tickets + 5-$20 tickets, it should still give him package #4 since that would be the cheapest for him.   If this is a repeat question, please direct me to the existing solution. I wasn't able to find a matching query. We currently use InstallShield. I'm attempting to covert a project with 407 files to a WiX3 installation package. I tried using heat.exe to do some of the automation but I get the following warning for almost every file: c: heat dir "c:\projectDir\projectA" -gg -ke -template:Product -out "c:\install\projectA\heatOutput" heat.exe: warning HEAT5150 : Could not harvest data from a file that was expected to be a SelfReg DLL: c:\projectDir\projectA\plugin1.dll. If this file does not support SelfReg you can ignore this warning. Otherwise, this error detail may be helpful to diagnose the failure: Unable to load file: c:\projectDir\projectA\plugin1.dll, error: 126. Q: Is it normal for this warning to be reported for every file? If there's a current "How To create/convert to your first WiX install project with many files" tutorial, please point me to it. The key requirement is "with many files". Thank-you -Karen Kwong- PS. I know that WiX is designed for incremental install project creation but it would be nice to know if there's an automated way to convert existing install projects.
