• Is it possible to set up rule in Outlook 2010 based on message class?

  I recieve all the undeliverable reports for mailings sent from my company. Moving and cataloguing them can take a while, and it would be handy if I could create a rule that did that for me. The most robust way of doing this would seem to be to run a rule based on the Undeliverable message class. However, I can't see message class as an option anywhere in the advanced rules wizard, and Googling it is no help. EDIT: I already have a rule that searches for "Undeliverable" in the subject header of emails received and moves them, but this only affects traditional emails (i.e. those with a message class of "Message") and ignores actual undeliverable reports. Am I missing something obvious, or can this not be done?

  I have postfix v2.6.6 running on CentOS 6.3, hostname priest.ocsl.local (private, internal domain) with a number of aliases supportpeople: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] requests: "|/opt/rt4/bin/rt-mailgate --queue 'general' --action correspond --url http://localhost/", supportpeople help: "|/opt/rt4/bin/rt-mailgate --queue 'help' --action correspond --url http://localhost/", supportpeople If I leave postfix with its default configuration, then the aliases are resolved correctly/as I expect, so that incoming mail to, say, [email protected] will be piped through the rt-mailgate mailgate command and also be delivered (via the mail server for ocsl.co.uk (a publicly resolvable domain)) to [email protected], user2, etc. The problem comes when I define mydomain = ocsl.co.uk in /etc/postfix/main.cf (with the intention that outgoing mail come from, for example, [email protected]). When I do this, postfix continues to run the piped command correctly, however it no longer expands the nested aliases as I expect: instead of trying to deliver to [email protected], user2 etc, it tries to send to [email protected], which does not exist on the upstream mail server and generates NDRs. postconf -n for the non-working configuration follows (the working configuration differs only by the "mydomain" line. alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases command_directory = /usr/sbin config_directory = /etc/postfix daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix data_directory = /var/lib/postfix debug_peer_level = 2 html_directory = no inet_interfaces = all inet_protocols = all mail_owner = postfix mailq_path = /usr/bin/mailq.postfix manpage_directory = /usr/share/man mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost mydomain = ocsl.co.uk newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases.postfix queue_directory = /var/spool/postfix readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.6.6/README_FILES sample_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.6.6/samples sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix setgid_group = postdrop unknown_local_recipient_reject_code = 550 We did have things working as we expected/wanted previously on an older system running Sendmail.

  Hello, Is there any mail server that has a feature to download (POP3) emails from another mail server like Google Apps (Gmail for your own domain), store it and then allow to users to download (POP3/IMAP) emails to their own mail client like Outlook/Live Mail? So I want it to become like a "middle mail server". I hope you guys understand it. My main reason to do so is that Google Apps got limited space for each mailbox and I also want to have emails in one space so its easy to archive and backup.

• Playbook is starting to get mail all of a sudden [closed]

  After 6 months my Playbook is just now this morning starting to pull in emails from my GMail account. Why? I didn't change anything on my end. The only difference I can think of (besides something changing on RIMs services end if that has any part in this) may be that I've been on a secure university connection for a few hours. I've been on this network before but the playbook doesn't seem to stay connected to it very long. Maybe it's because I have a lot of emails in my account? Has anyone else noticed this?

• Why an empty MAIL FROM address can sent out email?

  We are using Smarter Mail system. Recently, we found that hacker had hacked some user accounts and sent out lots of spams. We have firewall to ratelimit the sender, but for the following email, the firewall couldn't do this because of the empty FROM address. Why an empty FROM address is consider OK? Actually, in our MTA(surgemail), we can see the sender in the email header. Any idea? • Redmine error undefined local variable 'usage' when recieving email

  I posted this on the Redmine forum about 20 days ago but am having no luck finding an answer, so I thought I'd see if I can find some love here: Somewhere during an upgrade to RM I lost the ability to have RM receive email. It was running just beautifully on 8.5. Some while back I upgraded and was not using the receive email feature for some time. At 9.2 and, now, 0.9.3.stable.3625, I'm getting an error in the procmail.log file: undefined local variable or method `usage' for #<RedmineMailHandler:0x6c14d34bb0a0> (NameError) I have a SVN install and used it, just tonight, to update the the 9.3 stable version. I walked through all the upgrade steps and everything seems to work fine, except for this. In rdm-redminehandler.rb I commented out the offending 'usage' line and got another error: 422 Unprocessable Entity

• Bulk email sender and list management API

  I'm looking for a way to programmatically manage email lists and send large numbers of emails to these lists. The general idea would be similar to how social networking sites send email notifications when a friend posts new content. Since a user could have tens of thousands of followers, it doesn't seem realistic to send these directly from my application so I'm curious if there's a good way to handle this through a service provider. My company is using Google apps but I'm not an expert on their API. Our environment is ASP.NET MVC. Any advice is most appreciated!

• What does MailMessage.IsBodyHtml do?

  I'm testing sending out some emails via C#, but I can't tell what effect setting IsBodyHtml to true has. Regardless of the value, whatever I send in my Body shows up with a content type of "text/plain", and my HTML shows up tags and all in my email client (gmail). What is that flag actually supposed to do? NOTE: I can send an HTML email just fine by creating an AlternateView with a content type of "text/html", I just want to understand how setting the body is supposed to work.

  I have written up a python script that allows a user to input a message, his email and the time and they would like the email sent. This is all stored in a mysql database. However, how do I get the script to execute on the said time and date? will it require a cron job? I mean say at 2:15 on april 20th, the script will search the database for all times of 2:15, and send out those emails. But what about for emails at 2:16? I am using a shared hosting provided, so cant have a continously running script. Thanks

  I have a raw email, (MIME multipart), and I want to display this on a website (e.g. in an iframe, with tabs for the HTML part and the plain text part, etc.). Are there any CPAN modules or Template::Toolkit plugins that I can use to help me achieve this? At the moment, it's looking like I'll have to parse the message with Email::MIME, then iterate over all the parts, and write a handler for all the different mime types.   So, I'm trying to send an smtp email from my website as a confirmation that their order has been place. The site is hosted on godaddy and I have no idea what's going on. I'm getting all kinds of error messages. The current one is: "System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: sorry, your mail was administratively denied. The website has a commenting system through which registered users of the website can post comments on the feedback posted by different users. When a comment is posted for a feedback an email is sent to the user who posted that feedback notifying him of new comments on his feedback. Now what I want is that a feedback owner should be able to post a new comment in response to that comment by simply replying to the email that has been sent by the website.   I have Exchange 2010 and I need to run a process using web services against every new email to come in to a mailbox. The process will basically add the email to an internal task list. Can I use Powershell for this? Having never used Powershell before I don't really have a clue on it's capabilities.
