  I am trying to get the font of controls in other applications. When I try WM_GETFONT, it returns 0.   Hi Guys, I am using Dojo and making a AJAX call to a JAVA Class and trying to get the output of the program to a Alert box to the client. var showResult = function(result){ console.log("Showing Result()"); var store = new dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore({ data: result}); console.dir(store); store.fetch( { onItem: function(data) { alert("Hie"); }, onError: function(error,request){ alert("ERROR");} }); }; This is my code, showResult basically is call back function from xhr request. I can see console.dir(store) printed onto Firebug but the fetch function always returns the onError block. My store array is of the form {info="Test Message"} and I need to retrieve "Test Message" and display it in a Alert box. Any help?

• Mysqli prepared insert statements always returning false

  I'm writing prepared statements that are supposed to insert data into a table, on a database that's been pre-selected in the variable $GLOBALS['mysqli']. The connection has been tested, and that's not the problem I'm having. I'm only running into trouble whenever my prepared statement involves INSERT INTO. I know the tablename, and field names are correct, but $stmt is ALWAYS false. • User Interface Diagram That is always reachable

  If you have to build a flow of a Use-case by drawing each Interface Diagram. Then you would start with a Diagram like say "login". But after the login page, no mather wich page you choose except the "logout" page, you always have your navigation bar right ? So all the options in the navigation bar? Like account page , personal page, etc... Do you have to make sure in your flow that in every diagram there is acces to the "accountpage" diagram ? Or do they have an other solution for that ?   I am f...fed up with Subversion. Need a version control that: Can be used without affecting the sources with embedded files (like the Subversion .svn-directories), or having to check in and then check out (If you want to version control live web-site files for example). It should always be possible to bring the repository quickly up to date whatever I have done (Without resolving conflicts or adding files first etc.) Ideally it should be possible to merge repositories starting out as separate. I thing it should be a distributed one, I think GIT is the Lingua Franca, but there is also Mercurial and Bazaar, which should have some advantages since they exist :-)

• Scrollview always scrolls to the bottom

  Hi all, I have a view with scrollview as the detailedview of the table cells which is having contents as multiple labels with dynamic size and a couple of buttons which I'm creating through interface builder. Whenever I tap a cell this view is shown to me but the view is always the bottom view. If I scroll up, I'm able to see the content above but when I leave, it again resets its position i.e. the bottom of the view. Can anybody please help? Thanx in advance.

• Always require a plugin to be loaded

  I am writing an application with RequireJS and Knockout JS. The application includes an extension to knockout that adds ko.protectedObservable to the main knockout object. I would like this to always be available on the require'd knockout object, and not only when I specify it in the dependencies. I could concat the files together, but that seems that it should be unnecessary. Additionally, I can put knockout-protectedObservable as a dependency for knockout in the requirejs shim configuration, but that just leads to a circular dependency and it all fails to load. • utf-8 convertion doesn't work always

  I searched into other stack before to type here and I didn't find anythong similar. I have to scrape different utf-8 webpages which contain text like "Oggi è una bellissima giornata" the problem is on the characther "è" I extract this text with jtidy and xpath query expression and I convert it with byte[] content = filteredEncodedString.getBytes("utf-8"); String result = new String(content,"utf-8"); where filteredEncodedString contains the text "Oggi è una bellissima giornata". This procedures works on the most webpages analyzed so far but in some case it doesn't extract a utf-8 string. Page encoding is always the same as the text is similar. Any ideas about the problem? thanks Marco

  Hello, I have a User model as illustrated below: class User < ActiveRecord belongs_to :college belongs_to :class_level end I want to ALWAYS join with those other two tables returning one simplified User object. How do I accomplish this in my User model. I'm aware that I can do this in another model: class Foo < ActiveRecord has_many :users, :include => [:college, :class_level] end But I want to do this in my User model, so Foo.users will either be eager loaded OR be joined already. Is there a way to create an initialize this in the User model?

What could be wrong... is it normal?

I have no control how and where the characters get displayed. I would like it to always begin on line 1 position 1 but as I said earlier how would I be able to do that. The same program if I run again and again it moves a character to the left. I have set it to accept ASCII char set and so I am able to type as is visble in the Writeline message

  please help me with the following if you can, i have the simple following command me.textbox1.databindings.clear me.textbox1.databindings.add("text",TicketsBindingSource,"TicketSubject") the command exeutes succesfully and i can see in the textbox the title, BUT once i click on the textbox1 the position of the cursor it's always moving to the position 0 and not to the area of the textbox i clicked. For example my textbox has the following text: "Hello World". If i click with my mouse inside the textbox at the letter W or anywhere i click the cursor is moving to the 0 index. eg. at the beggining , in order to move my cursor left or right i have to do that with my keyboard arrows keys, Dose anybody know how i can solve this issue?

• DataGridView that always has one row selected

  I'm using a DGV to show a list of images with text captions as a picklist. Their must always be a one and only one selection made in the list. I can't find a way to prevent the user from clearing the selection with a control-click on the selected row. Is there a property in the designer I'm missing that could do this? If I have to override the behavior in the mouse click events are there other ways the user could clear the current selection that need covered as well? Is there a third approach I could take that's less cumbersome than my second idea?

• my output parameters are always null when i use BeginExecuteNonQuery

  I have a stored procedure that returns a varchar(160) as an output parameter of a stored procedure. Everything works fine when i use ExecuteNonQuery, i always get back the expected value. However, once i switch to use BeginExecuteNonQuery, i get a null value for the output. I am using connString + "Asynchronous Processing=true;" in both cases. Sadly the BeginExecuteNonQuery is about 1.5 times faster in my case...but i really need the output parameter. Thanks!

• send() always interrupted by EPIPE

  I've this weird behaviour in a multithreaded server programmed in C under GNU/Linux. While it's sending data, eventually will be interrupted by SIGPIPE. I managed to ignore signals in send() and treat errno after each action because of it. So, it has two individual sending methods, one that sends a large amount of data at once (or at least tries to), and another that sends a nearly similar amount and slices it in little chunks. Finally, I tried with this to keep it sending data. do { total_bytes_sent += send(client_sd, output_buf + total_bytes_sent, output_buf_len - total_bytes_sent, MSG_NOSIGNAL); } while ((total_bytes_sent < output_buf_len) && (errno != EPIPE)); This ugly piece of code does its work in certain situations, but not always. I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware or ISP problem, as this server is running in six european servers, four in Germany and two in France. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

• RegularExpressionValidator always fails, but ValidationExpression works in testing

  I found the answer to this, but it's a bit of a gotcha so I wanted to share it here. I have a regular expression that validates passwords. They should be 7 to 60 characters with at least one numeric and one alpha character. Pretty standard. I used positive lookaheads (the (?= operator) to implement it: (?=^.{7,60}$)(?=.*[0-9].*)(?=.*[a-zA-Z].*) I checked this expression in my unit tests using Regex.IsMatch(), and it worked fine. However, when I use it in a RegularExpressionValidator, it always fails. Why?

• Always get the correct datetime?

  I was wandering if there is a way/site/link whith the correct time? Not the servers datetime or the clients datetime. I'm using datetime to count down on my gaming site for when it is the users time to make a play. Users come from all ower the world so using the users client time would not match if its from the US to Europe. Then normally I would use the servers time, but somehow it skips 1.2 hours sometimes? I would like to make sure that everbody makes a timestamp from the same source and that source always is correct! Hoping for help and thanks in advance.

• Do preconditions ALWAYS have to be checked?

  These days I'm used to checking every single precondition for every function since I got the habit from an OS programming course back at uni. On the other hand, at the software engineering course we were taught that a common precondition should only be checked once, so for example, if a function is delegating to another function, the first function should check them but checking them again in the second one is redundant. I do see the redundancy point, but I certainly feel it's safer to always check them, plus you don't have to keep track of where they were checked previously. What's the best practice here?

• Sharepoint always down on the weekend?

  For some reason, our sharepoint site always goes down on Saturday. It's the stangest thing and I can't figure out why. I'm a total noob at sharepoint and have been thrown into being the go to guy for sharepoint with my current employer. I've tried bouncing IIS on Fridays to see if there is anything I can do before hand. Is there anything that might be scheduled that I may not know about that would cause sharepoint to go down? Remember I'm a total noob as sharepoint. Thanks to all that reply. Edit: Also this our front-end and database instances are on virtual servers.

  Hello all, First of all, I'd like to thank the good people who helped me around on this site. Thanks. I'm trying to detect a failed authentication attempt in my app... I'm using the didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge method, and the checking if [challenge previousFailureCount] is equal to 0. The problem is that it's always stays on zero, even if the username and password that I send with the credentials are incorrect. I couldn't find any info about this kind of issue, any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!
