• Problem using unicode in URLs with cgi.PATH_INFO in ColdFusion

  Hi there, My ColdFusion (MX7) site has search functionality which appends the search term to the URL e.g. http://www.example.com/search.cfm/searchterm. The problem I'm running into is this is a multilingual site, so the search term may be in another language e.g. ??????? leading to a search URL such as http://www.example.com/search.cfm/??????? The problem is when I come to retrieve the search term from the URL. I'm using cgi.PATH_INFO to retrieve the path of the search page and the search term and extracting the search term from this e.g. /search.cfm/searchterm however, when unicode characters are used in the search they are converted to question marks e.g. /search.cfm/??????. These appear actual question marks, rather than the browser not being able to format unicode characters, or them being mangled on output. I can't find any information about whether ColdFusion supports unicode in the URL, or how I can go about resolving this and getting hold of the complete URL in some way - does anyone have any ideas?   I was doing a checkout of a file in ClearCase, and I was unable to checkout this file from the frozen view because of this file which was a bleed-thru file. I thawed the view, and then I was able to check out the file, so I really do not have a problem at this time. I do have a question, though. What is a bleed-thru file in ClearCase? Any ideas? I have not heard this term before, and was interested, partly because it just sounds so cool!

  I am using Sendmail on a Centos server to send email for PHP scripts, but the problem is that mail is delivered to a local mailbox on the machine rather than what is specified in the MX records for the domain - which actually point to another machine I use for email. I would like sendmail to not try and locally deliver mail for the domain the machine is setup for, is there a simple way to disable local delivery? The domain is not in the local-host-names file. • What's a good approach to adding debug code to your application when you want more info about what's going wrong?

  When our application doesn't work the way we expect it to (e.g. throws exceptions etc.), I usually insert a lot of debug code at certain points in the application in order to get a better overview of what exactly is going on, what the values for certain objects are, to better trace where this error is triggered from. Then I send a new installer to the user(s) that are having the problem and if the problem is triggered again I look at the logs and see what they say. But I don't want all this debug code to be in the production code, since this would create some really big debug files with information that is not always relevant. The other problem is that our code base changes, and the next time, the same debug code might have to go in different parts of the application. Questions Is there a way to merge this debug code within the production code only when needed and have it appear at the correct points within the application? Can it be done with a version control system like git so that all would be needed is a git merge? P.S. The application I'm talking about now is .NET, written in C#.

  Hi all , I booked a domain name for my website from a hosting provider .I gave the domain name , along with ftp details to a freelancer to develop the site in wordpress . the freelancer developped and he got full payment , and the site and site was working fine ,etc .. From that time , I did not change the admin logging as well as ftp details , this means that such info is still known to the freelancer .. A week ago , I found that some links in my site was not working .. I sent him a mail about this , and he said that he will fix it if i give him ftp details . and I did so , next I found that the entire site is gone . then he sent me a mail , without I asked him , and he he said that there have been someone who got access to my server , and he removed all files of my site and he installed drupal instead .and that he can rebuild the site in one day , by charging a full fee of 250 usd again .. Can anyone know what I can do in this situation , to find who did such act , could it be the host provider or that freelancer ,, and if there is a possibility to have my site back top the server ..   I've recently had a few random TS3 mass disconnects and I'm am curious to know where I may find any applications that can help me determine the cause of any types of TS3 server disconnections as we plan on having many more users in the future. • Upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04 failed

  Today Ubuntu asked me to upgrade to 11.04. The installation went completely fine until right at the end when the following packages failed: install-info ubuntu-standard The installer hung so I had to shut it down manually. Ubuntu still works fine but it says that the upgrade didn't work properly so I am hesitant to restart it until I have resolved the problem in case I can't get back in. I am running Ubuntu inside the latest version of Virtual Box and was previously running version 10.10.
