• Find position of a node within a nodeset using xpath

  After playing around with position() in vain I was googling around for a solution and arrived at this older stackoverflow question which almost describes my problem. The difference is that the nodeset I want the position within is dynamic, rather than a contiguous section of the document. To illustrate I'll modify the example from the linked question to match my requirements. Note that each <b> element is within a different <a> element. This is the critical bit. <root <a <bzyx</b </a <a <bwvu</b </a <a <btsr</b </a <a <bqpo</b </a </root Now if I queried, using XPath for a/b I'd get a nodeset of the four <b> nodes. I want to then find the position within that nodeset of the node that contains the string 'tsr'. The solution in the other post breaks down here: count(a/b[.='tsr']/preceding-sibling::*)+1 returns 1 because preceding-sibling is navigating the document rather than the context node-set. Is it possible to work within the context nodeset?

What i want to do is, all the info will shows off on the TextBox when the user click the button. The searching node will be based on the pid. Next button will adding 1 value of pid (let's say pid=2) and it will search on the node that have the same value of pid=2. it also will show the name for the pid=2. (showing name=abc) Same goes to the previous button where it will reduce 1value of pid (pid=1). • flex data provider not working if XML has single node value or less

  hello, i get this error when i retrieve an XML that only has 1 node (no repeating nodes) and i try to store in an ArrayCollection. -When I have MORE than 1 "name" nodes...i do NOT get an error. My test show that XMLListCollection does NOT work either. TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "XXXXXX" to mx.collections.ArrayCollection. this error occurs as the line of code: myList= e.result.list.name; Why can't ArrayCollection work with a single node? I'm using this ArrayCollection as a dataprovider for a Component -is there an alternative I can use that will take BOTH single and repeating nodes as well as work as a dataprovider?   What I'm trying to do is read the value for all the nodes in this XML and put them into an array. This should be simple but for some reason it's driving me nuts. • Does it make sense to use jQuery in modern-webkit-only web applications?

  I'm lately working on a few mobile web apps for Android (2.3+) and iOS (4+). Their browsers support most of ECMAScript5, which is very powerful, and I wanted to use language features where possible, resorting to jQuery only when I had to. Turns out the only thing I use jQuery for is to have a shorter alternative for document.querySelectorAll. Might as well get rid of it. If I only have to support modern WebKit browsers, is it a good idea to get rid of jQuery (and other general-purpose libraries)? They are a layer of indirection, after all. (The apps don't have to make AJAX calls so far, I guess that's one thing that's going to get ugly. But is it worth keeping jQuery just for that?)

• Why Won't the WebSocket.onmessage Event Fire?

  Hey guys, After toying around with this for hours, I simply cannot find a solution. I'm working on a WebSocket server using "node.js" for a canvas based online game I'm developing. My game can connect to the server just fine, it accepts the handshake and can even send messages to the server. However, when the server responds to the client, the client doesn't get the message. No errors, nothing, it just sits there peacefully. I've ripped apart my code, trying everything I could think of to fix this, but alas, nothing. Here's a stripped copy of my server code.   I would like to get a dedicated server to run VMWare, VirtualBox, or similar. On this box, I would like to host 3-4 virtual instances of Linux, to act as nodes in a web farm. Performance is not that important, this would only be for testing and experimenting. I need something sub $1000 (including tax/shipping). Can someone recommend a pre-built server that would do the trick? I am pretty ignorant of hardware so building one is not going to work for me. Also, would I need multiple network cards to simulate a web farm or can the virtualization software handle that for me. Thanks

• Rundeck get verbose output of command executing on node

When I run this via Rundeck, however, it doesn't show me the same print generated outputs as above.   Both servers in a 2 server cluster are reporting event 4412 20,000 times per day. If I sit in the conflictAndDetected folder I can observe files appearing and disappearing. Users report that their files saved by peers at the same location are overriding each other. The configuration began with a single server, then DFS-R was set up using the 2008 R2 wizard that set up the share on the second server. DFSN was set up independently. Windows users have drives mapped using domain based namespace (\domain.com\share). Mac users are pointed directly to the new server share created by DFS-R. It is PC users indicating most of the lost files, but there has been 2 reports by Mac users about files reverting.

  I'm new to Amazon AWS. A lot of the time I hear about people folks spawning instances and almost instantly putting them behind a load balancer and into an existing cluster. In the traditional world of managed machines, this would include provisioning hardware, installing an OS, configuring the network on the machine and once the network is available, use a tool of your choice such as CFengine, Puppet or Chef to bootstrap the machine based on its class. It seems like there are "shortcuts" that are able to get a server of a particular class up and running in Amazon EC2. If I have a particular stack running on my server, such as erlang, tomcat6 etc.. what's the fastest way to get these up and running and hooked into Amazon's load balancer? From network, to software stack to kernel tuning? Is it a combination of creating an AMI then running a tool like Puppet against the new instance? Any idea

• CentOS: OpsCenter does not see other node's agent

  I'm new with Apache Cassandra. I am trying to install a little sample cluster using two CentOS server. I followed the documentation (Tarball installation) and the nodes are up. However, when I go to OpsCenter, the nodes cannot see each other's agent (there is always "1 of 2 agents connected"..I tried to fix, but nothing change). I tried both to disable and enable SSL, I tried to set the incoming_interface in opscenter.conf, I tried almost everything the network suggested to me, but the problem persisted. Now, I have SSL enabled, and agent log tell me: "There was an error when attempting to load stored rollups." Is there someone that could help me, please?

• Why would I want to install node.js in my Rails Application?

  Okay guys, I'm super confused. I thought node.js was a sever side framwork, basically the js version of Ruby's Rails or PHP's Zend. However, I'm having some difficulty with turbolinks, and it seems to be the way to fix it is through installing node.js I mean, I don't understand this at all. How can two frameworks work together like this? Also, it's not a gem (that REALLY would have confused me), you have to install node.js it onto your local machine by running (in the case of Ubuntu) sudo apt-get install nodejs Firstly, how does this totally separate framwork have any bearing on rails? Secondly, surely this isn't fixing the problem forever? When you specify a gem in your gemfile, the server knows what external libraries to install. How does the server know to install nodejs?

• Managed servers getting down regularly by Node Manager. WAD?

  Recently I have been working on a service request where several instances were running, and several technologies were being used, including SOA, BAM, BPEL and others. At a first glance, this may seem to be a Node Manager problem. But on this situation, the problem was at JMS - Persistent Store level. Node Manager can automatically restart Managed Servers that have the "failed" health state, or have shut down unexpectedly due to a system crash or reboot. As a matter of fact, from the provided log files it was clear that the instance was becoming unhealthy because of a persist6ent Store problem. So finally, the problem here was not with Node Manager as it was working as designed, and the restart was being caused by the Persistent Store. After this Persistent Store problem was fixed, everuthing went fine. This particular issue that I worked was on an Exalogic machine, but note that this may happen on any hardware running Weblogic.
