  • Boost Python - Limits to the number of arguments when wrapping a function

    - by Derek
    I'm using Boost Python to wrap some C++ functions that I've created. One of my C++ functions contains 22 arguments. Boost complains when I try to compile my solution with this function, and I'm trying to figure out if it is just because this function has too many arguments. Does anyone know if such a limit exists? I've copied the error I'm getting below, not the code because I figure someone either knows the answer to this or not - and if there is no limit then I'll just try to figure it out myself. Thanks very much in advance! Here is a copy of the beginning of the error message I receive... 1>main.cpp 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\make_function.hpp(76): error C2780: 'boost::mpl::vector17<RT,most_derived<Target,ClassT>::type&,T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14> boost::python::detail::get_signature(RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile const,Target *)' : expects 2 arguments - 1 provided 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\signature.hpp(236) : see declaration of 'boost::python::detail::get_signature' And eventually I get about a hundred copies of error messages very much resembling this one: 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\make_function.hpp(76): error C2784: 'boost::mpl::vector17<RT,ClassT&,T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14> boost::python::detail::get_signature(RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile const)' : could not deduce template argument for 'RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile const' from 'std::string (__cdecl *)(const std::string &,jal::date::JULIAN_DATE,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,const std::string &,int,const std::string &)' 1> c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\signature.hpp(218) : see declaration of 'boost::python::detail::get_signature' 1>c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\make_function.hpp(76): error C2780: 'boost::mpl::vector17<RT,most_derived<Target,ClassT>::type&,T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14> boost::python::detail::get_signature(RT (__thiscall ClassT::* )(T0,T1,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,T9,T10,T11,T12,T13,T14) volatile,Target *)' : expects 2 arguments - 1 provided 1> c:\cpp_ext\boost\boost_1_47\boost\python\signature.hpp(236) : see declaration of 'boost::python::detail::get_signature'

  • wrapping boost::ublas with swig

    - by leon
    I am trying to pass data around the numpy and boost::ublas layers. I have written an ultra thin wrapper because swig cannot parse ublas' header correctly. The code is shown below #include <boost/numeric/ublas/vector.hpp> #include <boost/numeric/ublas/matrix.hpp> #include <boost/lexical_cast.hpp> #include <algorithm> #include <sstream> #include <string> using std::copy; using namespace boost; typedef boost::numeric::ublas::matrix<double> dm; typedef boost::numeric::ublas::vector<double> dv; class dvector : public dv{ public: dvector(const int rhs):dv(rhs){;}; dvector(); dvector(const int size, double* ptr):dv(size){ copy(ptr, ptr+sizeof(double)*size, &(dv::data()[0])); } ~dvector(){} }; with the SWIG interface that looks something like %apply(int DIM1, double* INPLACE_ARRAY1) {(const int size, double* ptr)} class dvector{ public: dvector(const int rhs); dvector(); dvector(const int size, double* ptr); %newobject toString; char* toString(); ~dvector(); }; I have compiled them successfully via gcc 4.3 and vc++9.0. However when I simply run a = dvector(array([1.,2.,3.])) it gives me a segfault. This is the first time I use swigh with numpy and not have fully understanding between the data conversion and memory buffer passing. Does anyone see something obvious I have missed? I have tried to trace through with a debugger but it crashed within the assmeblys of python.exe. I have no clue if this is a swig problem or of my simple wrapper. Anything is appreciated.

  • DropDownList Value not changing with UpdatePanel and ModalPopupExtender

    - by Richard
    Greetings, I have an asp.net webpage with an modalpopupextender inside of an updatepanel. When I click Ok on the popup, I can get the textbox values from the popup just fine, but the DropDownLists have the old/default value, not the new value I have selected for them. All the controls on the popup are set to enableviewstate = true, and autopostback = false (I just want to make the trip to the server when I click the ok button, not every time I change the value of the popups). Here is the relevant code. ========================== Client Side <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Panel ID="EditIssuePanel" runat="server" CssClass="modalPopup" Style="display:block;" > <table style="width:500px;"> <tr style="height:50px;"> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <asp:Label ID="lblEditIssueHeader" runat="server" Text="Edit Issue"></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblIssueName" runat="server" Text="Name:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtName" runat="server" Width="250px" MaxLength="50"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblDescription" runat="server" Text="Description:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtDescription" runat="server" Width="250px" MaxLength="1000"></asp:TextBox> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblType" runat="server" Text="Type:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlType" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="B">Bug</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="R">Request</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="O">Other</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblStatus" runat="server" Text="Status:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlStatus" runat="server"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="L">Logged</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="I">In Process</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="C">Complete</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> &nbsp; </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblPriority" runat="server" Text="Priority:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlPriority" runat="server" EnableViewState="true" AutoPostBack="false"> <asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="L">Low</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="M">Medium</asp:ListItem> <asp:ListItem Value="H">High</asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Logger</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblEnteredByClientUserID" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblDateResolutionRequested" runat="server" Text="Requested Complete Date:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <igsch:WebDateChooser ID="wdcRequestCompleteDate" runat="server"> </igsch:WebDateChooser> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Logged Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblLoggedDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">In Process Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblInProcessDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px"> <td class="labelscolumn">Resolved Date</td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:Label ID="lblResolvedDate" runat="server" Text=""></asp:Label> </td> </tr> <tr style="height:30px;"> <td class="labelscolumn" valign="top"> <asp:Label ID="lblEmailCCList" runat="server" Text="Email CC:"></asp:Label> </td> <td class="datacolumn"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtEmailCCList" runat="server" MaxLength="2000" Rows="0" TextMode="MultiLine" Height="83px" Width="250px"></asp:TextBox> &nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr> <td> <asp:Label ID="lblIssueID" runat="server" Text="" Visible="false"></asp:Label> <asp:Label ID="lblClientID" runat="server" Text="" Visible="false"></asp:Label> </td> <td align="right"> <asp:Button ID="btnEditOk" runat="server" Text="Ok" onclick="btnEditOk_Click"/>&nbsp;&nbsp; <asp:Button ID="btnEditCancel" runat="server" Text="Cancel" onclick="btnEditCancel_Click" />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </td> </tr> </table> </asp:Panel> . . .   • Wrapping WPF UserControl inside VisualStudio Item Template

    - by karthik84
    I am currently started working on a project which will allow users to design reports inside visual studio. Previously, for my similar Winforms App, I had extended the IComponent (Component Class) and wrote our VS Like designer kind of custom control which will allow users to drag drop controls from the visual studio toolbox and then I export it as a VisualStudio C#&VB ItemTemplate. Now I am trying to recreate the same control using WPF considering its power, extensiblity. Could anyone shed some lights on this, on what would be the most preferable way of doing this ? Thanks in advance.

  • Word is ignoring my 'Match Destination Formatting' preference when pasting text

    - by CreeDorofl
    I'm stuck using word 2007 at the office. It has options for retaining formatting, pasting as plain text, and pasting text to match the destination's formatting. That last option is the one I want, but word is blatantly ignoring it. I copy some text from a PDF, paste into word, and it retains the PDF's formatting... even though I went into options -- advanced -- changed all the dropdowns to "Match Destination Formatting". It also ignores "text only" option... It retains the exact mix of bold, italic, normal text & fonts. I can work around it by pasting to a plain text file, then pasting into word. Or I can do paste special -- unformatted text. But this is so irritating... I just want to ctrl+V and not hassle with it every single time. Is there a better fix?

  • Wrapping \NewEnviron into \newenvironment fails

    - by o_O Tync
    Hello! I am trying to wrap an environment created with \NewEnviron (package 'environ') into an old good \newenvironment: \NewEnviron{test}{aaa(\BODY)bbb} \newenvironment{wrapper}{\begin{test}}{\end{test}} \begin{wrapper} debug me \end{wrapper} However, this gives me a strange error: LaTeX Error: \begin{test} on input line 15 ended by \end{wrapper}. LaTeX Error: \begin{wrapper} on input line 15 ended by \end{document}. If I replace \NewEnviron{test}{aaa(\BODY)bbb} with \newenvironment{test}{aaa(}{)bbb} — everything works as expected! It seems like \NewEnviron fails to find its end for some reason. I'm trying to do some magic with 'floatfig' wrapped into a \colorbox so I need a way to convert \colorbox to an environment and wrap it into another one. I can define a new command but it's not a very good idea. Thanks in advance!

  • python, wrapping class returning the average of the wrapped members

    - by João Portela
    The title isn't very clear but I'll try to explain. Having this class: class Wrapped(object): def method_a(self): # do some operations return n def method_b(self): # also do some operations return n I wan't to have a class that performs the same way as this one: class Wrapper(object): def __init__(self): self.ws = [Wrapped(1),Wrapped(2),Wrapped(3)] def method_a(self): results=[Wrapped.method_a(w) for w in self.ws] sum_ = sum(results,0.0) average = sum_/len(self.ws) return average def method_b(self): results=[Wrapped.method_b(w) for w in self.ws] sum_ = sum(results,0.0) average = sum_/len(self.ws) return average obviously this is not the actual problem at hand (it is not only two methods), and this code is also incomplete (only included the minimum to explain the problem). So, what i am looking for is a way to obtain this behavior. Meaning, whichever method is called in the wrapper class, call that method for all the Wrapped class objects and return the average of their results. Can it be done? how? Thanks in advance. ps-didn't know which tags to include...

  • manipulating strings, search text

    - by alhambraeidos
    Hi all, I try explain my issue: note 1: I have only strings, not files, ONLY strings. I have a string like this (NOTE: I include line numbers for better explain) The line separator is \r\n (CRLF) string allText = 1 Lorem ipsum Lorem ipsum 2 == START 001partXXX.sql == 3 Lorem ipsum TEXT Lorem ipsum 4 == END 001partXXX.sql == 5 Lorem ipsum TEXT Lorem ipsum 6 == START 002partzzz.sql == 7 Lorem ipsum TEXT Lorem ipsum 8 == END 002partzzz.sql == I have contents strings like this: string contents1 = == START 001partXXX.sql == Lorem ipsum TEXT Lorem ipsum == END 001partXXX.sql == the other content string: string contents2 = == START 002partzzz.sql == Lorem ipsum TEXT Lorem ipsum == END 002partzzz.sql == Then, allText.IndexOf(contents1) != -1 allText.IndexOf(contents2) != -1 I need function thats receive 3 parameters: allText, Contents, and text to find in contents, and it returns the line number of Text To Find in AllText For example, input: allText, contents2, "TEXT" ouput = line number 7 Another sample, input: allText, contents1, "TEXT" ouput = line number 3 Another sample, input: allText, contents1, "TEXT NOT FOUND" ouput = line number -1 How can I implement this function ?? any help very useful for me, Thanks in advanced.

  • Wrapping allocated output parameters with a scoped_ptr/array

    - by Danra
    So, I have some code which looks like this: byte* ar; foo(ar) // Allocates a new[] byte array for ar ... delete[] ar; To make this safer, I used a scoped_array: byte* arRaw; scoped_array ar; foo(arRaw); ar.reset(arRaw); ... // No delete[] The question is, Is there any existing way to do this using just the scoped_array, without using a temporary raw array? I can probably write an in-place "resetter" class, just wondering if the functionality exists and I'm missing it. Thanks, Dan

  • LaTeX: Automatic two-column wrapping of content

    - by plash
    Say I have a list of words that need to retain their order, and need to be sorted into two columns. I can do this rather well with a tabular: \begin{tabular}{l l} abc & def \\ ghi & jkl \\ \end{tabular} But doing so makes it rather difficult and time consuming to reorder the list. Is it possible to have an automatically wrapped two-column list? Ideally, I would like to simply enter an ordered list: \begin{magic} abc \\ def \\ ghi \\ jkl \\ \end{magic} And have it wrapped to two columns (as the tabular enables): abc def ghi jkl

I want this, but I dont want the objects to be on two separate lines. I have tried the CSS white-space property, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

  • Java SWT: wrapping syncExec and asyncExec to clean up code

    - by jonescb
    I have a Java Application using SWT as the toolkit, and I'm getting tired of all the ugly boiler plate code it takes to update a GUI element. Just to set a disabled button to be enabled I have to go through something like this: shell.getDisplay().asyncExec(new Runnable() { public void run() { buttonOk.setEnabled(true); } }); I prefer keeping my source code as flat as I possibly can, but I need a whopping 3 indentation levels just to do something simple. Is there some way I can wrap it? I would like a class like: public class UIUpdater { public static void updateUI(Shell shell, *function_ptr*) { shell.getDisplay().asyncExec(new Runnable() { public void run() { //Execute function_ptr } }); } } And can be used like so: UIUpdater.updateUI(shell, buttonOk.setEnabled(true)); Something like this would be great for hiding that horrible mess SWT seems to think is necessary to do anything. As I understand it, Java cannot do functions pointers. But Java 7 will have something called Closures which should be what I want. But in the meantime is there anything at all I can do to pass a function pointer or callback to another function to be executed? As an aside, I'm starting to think it'd be worth the effort to redo this application in Swing, and I don't have to put up with this ugly crap and non-cross-platformyness of SWT.

    Given a block container <div> this is a very long string which contains a bunch of characters that I want to break at container edges. </div> are there any css properties I can set to force it to break when it reaches the container width, regardless of the contents of the string, for example a break like: this is a ve ry long stri ng which ... is pretty much what I want. Right now, it seems to always prefer to break at whitespace characters or other special characters (such as /).

  • wrapping user controls in a transaction

    - by Hans Gruber
    I'm working on heavily dynamic and configurable CMS system. Therefore, many pages are composed of a dynamically loaded set of user controls. To enable loose coupling between containers (pages) and children (user controls), all user controls are responsible for their own persistence. Each User Control is wired up to its data/service layer dependencies via IoC. They also implement an IPersistable interface, which allows the container .aspx page to issue a Save command to its children without knowledge of the number or exact nature of these user controls. Note: what follows is only pseudo-code: public class MyUserControl : IPersistable, IValidatable { public void Save() { throw new NotImplementedException(); } public bool IsValid() { throw new NotImplementedException(); } } public partial class MyPage { public void btnSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { foreach (IValidatable control in Controls) { if (!control.IsValid) { throw new Exception("error"); } } foreach (IPersistable control in Controls) { if (!control.Save) { throw new Exception("error"); } } } } I'm thinking of using declarative transactions from the System.EnterpriseService namespace to wrap the btnSave_Click in a transaction in case of an exception, but I'm not sure how this might be achieved or any pitfalls to such an approach.

  • Create a rich text control field in VBA for Word 2010

    I have a control field where I dynamically add certain text. That works well so far. The problem is that in one text I have an input field where the user can type in text.
