  Hi there I made the mistake of using == for comparing IP addresses instead of using the equals() method of the IPAddress class in C#, which will result in the comparison of references instead of values. Since the solution I am currently working on is very large for a one-man project ( 100.000 lines of source code), I am very sure that I still have some of these wrong statements in my code. Is there any possibility to tell Visual Studio to find all occurrences of == operations on a specific class for me, so that I can find and clean up the bugged comparisons? with best regards, emi

• Does jQuery.on() work for elements that are added after the event handler is created?

  I was under the impression all this time that .on() worked like .live() with regards to dynamically created elements (e.g. I use $('.foo').on('click', function(){alert('click')}); and then an element with the class foo is created due to some AJAX, now I'm expecting a click on that element to cause an alert). In practice, these weren't the results I got. I could be making a mistake, but could somebody help me understand the new way to achieve these results, in the wake of .on()? Thanks in advance.

• Subversion 'unadd' ?

  I have a number of files I wish to add to subversion. Instead of taking my time and adding each individual one, I decided to be a smart-arse and do a: svn add * .. which was a mistake. Is there a way I can 'unadd' everything? There's about 7 files I wanted to add... it's now highlighted an extra 500+ auto-generated files I didn't mean to add! I haven't committed it yet so hopefully there's a way to undo this!!

  In the app.config file if I use <add key = "FileDelimeter" value ="&#2c;"/> as unicode for COMMA, it is throwing error Invalid character in a decimal number 'c' For SPACE, <add key = "FileDelimeter" value ="&#20;"/> the error is Character'', hex value 0*14 is illegal in xml while <add key = "FileDelimeter" value ="&#09;"/> for "\t" worked. • MySQL GROUP BY with three tables

  I have the following tables: posts (post_id, content, etc) comments (comment_id, post_id, content, etc) posts_categories (post_category_id, post_id, category_id) and this query: SELECT `p`.*, COUNT(comments.comment_id) AS cmts, posts_categories.*,comments.* FROM `posts` AS `p` LEFT JOIN `posts_categories` ON `p`.post_id = `posts_categories`.post_id LEFT JOIN `comments` ON `p`.post_id = `comments`.post_id GROUP BY `p`.`post_id` There are three comments on post_id=1 and four in total. In posts_categories there are two rows, both assigned to post_id=1. I have four rows in posts. But if I query the statement above I get a result of 6 for COUNT(comments.comment_id) at post_id=1. How is this possible? I guess the mistake is somewhere in the GROUP BY clause but I can't figure out where. Any suggestions?

  I was trying to place two uibuttons on uitableviewcell programmatically.. but unable to achieve that. somehow i managed to get the buttons through some sample project in which u can draw a nib for cell.. but i was unable to set a selector function for buttons.. in other example i can place a uiinfodark type button but when i change the type to rounded rect the button gets disappeared and i am unable to figure out why? I might be doing some silly mistake but I am really kinda stuck with it right now so I'll be very much thankful to all of you for helping in this regard.

  The standard array-size macro that is often taught is #define ARRAYSIZE(arr) (sizeof(arr) / sizeof(arr[0])) or some equivalent formation. However, this kind of thing silently succeeds when a pointer is passed in, and gives results that can seem plausible at runtime until things mysteriously fall apart. It's all-too-easy to make this mistake: a function that has a local array variable is refactored, moving a bit of array manipulation into a new function called with the array as a parameter. So, the question is: is there a "sanitary" macro to detect misuse of the ARRAYSIZE macro in C, preferably at compile-time? In C++ we'd just use a template specialized for array arguments only; in C, it seems we'll need some way to distinguish arrays and pointers. (If I wanted to reject arrays, for instance, I'd just do e.g. (arr=arr, ...) because array assignment is illegal).

  I'm trying to write a function that will change the size of a dynamic array to a new size. In my header file, I have: Image **images; //pointer to a dynamic array of image pointers int maximum; //size I want to do this by allocating a new array and copying the values over without changing their indices. If there are non-null pointers outside the range newmax, then we cant do this. So heres what I have: There are no compilation or runtime errors. However, I find that the new array isnt getting sized right. When I run the following test case: I should get an index out of bounds error, but instead the system lets it slide. Can anyone see the mistake? I've looked for hours but cant find anything.

  Recently I was reading php documentation and found interesting note in string section: Functions, method calls, static class variables, and class constants inside {$} work since PHP 5. However, the value accessed will be interpreted as the name of a variable in the scope in which the string is defined. Using single curly braces ({}) will not work for accessing the return values of functions or methods or the values of class constants or static class variables. See www.php.net/manual/en/language.types.string.php It says, that I can't use curly syntax to get value returned by object's method call.   Running a project and was getting an error saying "Not enough actual parameters" The error is in "C:\Program Files\PBear\HTMLComponents\package\GDIPL2A.pas". The mistake pointed three times to "inherited Create;" lines 260,270 and 278 . My Obj class has a function pointer attribute. Could that be the problem? class Obj{ void(*funct)(); and in the constructor: Obj(void(*f)()) { funct = f; } where is my mistake? The function pointer, the createThread itself, or type-casting? I tried whatever I could think of.

• How are OpenGL programs debugged?

  I'm trying to find what is causing a segfault when glDrawArrays is called (as gdb says) in my simple program. When I use the OpenGl calls directly, the program runs fine. But when I wrap them up into two classes (under construction, of vao and vbo) the program segfaults. So, in my wrappers, I definitly disabled something or set something I'm not supposed to. My question is, how do I get some diagnostics that will help me pinpoint the source of the problem ? I'm looking for something similar to what glGetShaderiv does, but for vao and vbo s, that will tell me if I have..say.. unbound a buffer by mistake. [I'm not posting the code here, but if any of you want to donate some time by testing a segfaulting example, here is a tar.gz of the source . You'll need working libraries of sfml-2.0rc, glew and gcc=4.6 .]

• Charts don't show up when subreport is included in group header in pentaho reporting 3.9.1-GA

  There is an issue concerning in sub-reports. I created a bar chart in report header. The sub report(inline) is placed in the Details of main report. In the sub report, the bar chart is placed in the group header. I imported the required parameters to the sub reports from the main report and also i have a sub query for the sub report.The expected output is to show an updated bar chart within each (inner) group of main report. However, the chart is only displayed in the last group occurence, although the chart area itself is allotted in every expected case. Can any one say me, what mistake i did.

  I've been researching programming languages, in hopes of learning to program. Since I've heard a lot of good things about Ruby, I went ahead and purchased The Pragmatic guide to Ruby. I understand that there is a lot of hype about Ruby on Rails. Because ruby lets you program scripts, applications, and internet helped me to decide on learning Ruby vs other languages. Today I watched a talk about google go, and it's really caught my attention. Coincidently I stumbled on a talk about jruby. I've been under the impression that java applications are bloated an slow. However the speaker made a point of what is wrong with Ruby, and how Jruby diagnosed Ruby's shortcomings. All that said. I would like to hear peoples opinions on Jruby vs Ruby, and if Ruby is working on fixing these "short comings". • How to encode content to send them via jquery to a php file?

  I am trying to send a form to a php file via jquery. The problem is, that the content, which has to be sent to the php file, contains slashes (/) since there is bb code inside. So I tried the following: $.ajax( { type: "POST", url: "create.php", data: "content=" + encodeURIComponent(content), cache: false, success: function(message) { $("#somediv").html(message); } }); In the php file I use rawurldecode to decode the content and get my bb codes back which I can then transform into html.   I'm having an issue reading byte in file after performing lseek long cur_position = lseek(fd, length * -1, SEEK_CUR ); // Rewind file reading by length bytes. printf("cur_position: %i\n", cur_position); int num_byte = read(fd, &byte, 1); printf("num_byte = %i\n", num_byte); With the initial variable length set to 34, the above code would produce cur_position 5 (so there are definitely at least 34 bytes after the lseek function returns), but the variable num_byte returned from function read always returns 0 even though there are still more bytes to read. Does anyone know the reason num_byte always return 0 or do I make mistake in the above code? Just for information, the above code was run on the following machine $ uname -srvpio Linux 3.2.0-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 16:52:17 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

  Hi guys, I'm pushing data from as3 to MSQL through a little php script! My problem is that all my accentuated characters are displayed as weird iso characters.
