• Uploading files wont work on production server

  I have a php script which uploads images to a temporary folder on the server. This works on my local computer with the local (virtual) server. (wampserver). However, on the production server (linux) I cant get it working. Everything is loading as it should, except for that the file doesn't show up on the server. My Q is, is there anything I should think about when moving to a production server with uploading images or files? I have set permissions on the folder where the images are supposed to go to 777 and also the php-code which uploads them to 777. Thanks

  I use wampserver2.1 php5.3.3, I found session_regenerate_id(true) not work in my script,document says when I set the parameter 'delete_old_sessions' true, there should be a new sid and all the session variables should be deleted, but the fact is after the function, $_session[abc] is still there. did I misunderstand the function,what is my problem?   How would I force the current thread to wait until another has finished before continuing.   In brief, my question is about member variables as pointers in unmanaged C++. In java or c#, we have "advanced pointer". In fact, we can't aware the "pointer" in them. We usually initialize the member of a class like this: member = new Member(); or member = null; But in c++, it becomes more confusing. I have seen many styles: using new, or leave the member variable in stack. In my point of view, using boost::shared_ptr seems friendly, but in boost itself source code there are news everywhere. It's the matter of efficiency,isn't it? Is there a guildline like "try your best to avoid new" or something?

  As the jQuery API is currently down, is anyone able to assist me with the below? I am ajax loading an unordered list into the web page and need to be able to attach hover and click events to the list items. <ul> <li class="option">Item 1</li> <li class="option">Item 1</li> <li class="option">Item 1</li> </ul> So far I have tried a few variations of the below jQuery code using .on for version 1.7+ $("ul").on("click", "li .option", function(){ alert($(this).text()); }); Can anyone point me in the right direction? • Toolbar disappeared in Visual Studio

  Visual Studio ate my toolbar, I opened a solution for a project I've been working on for a few months, and the toolbar has 135 buttons on it, and while it was loading, the whole toolbar flickered like it was trying to give me a seizure or something, and then it dissappeared. Now when I click Debug, it won't let me do it because all the resources are missing!? I'm using: Visual Studio 2010 C# Express Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have searched Google and found nothing related. I'm hoping that Visual Studio can also somehow make bowel movements so I can find those missing resources and put everything back together again, but I don't think that's a likely scenario... Has anybody ever experienced this before, and if so, are there any updates/fixes for this?

  Hi, I want to store a number of url patterns in my django model which a user can provide parameters to which will create a url. For example I might store these 3 urls in my db where %s is the variable parameter provided by the user: www.thisissomewebsite.com?param=%s www.anotherurl/%s/ www.lastexample.co.uk?param1=%s&fixedparam=2 As you can see from these examples the parameter can appear anywhere in the string and not in a fixed position. I have 2 models, one holds the urls and one holds the variables: class URLPatterns(models.Model): pattern = models.CharField(max_length=255) class URLVariables(models.Model): pattern = models.ForeignKey(URLPatterns) param = models.CharField(max_length=255) What would be the best way to generate these urls by replacing the %s with the variable in the database. would it just be a simple replace on the string e.g: urlvariable = URLVariable.objects.get(pk=1) pattern = url.pattern url = pattern.replace("%s", urlvariable.param) or is there a better way?   In my environment my Dev and QA Database Instances are on the same server. I would like to deploy the same package (or different versions of the package) into SSIS and set the filter to select different rows in the Config table. Is this possible? This is SQL 2005. For the sake of this question lets say I have one variable, which is a directory path. I would like to have these variables in the table twice (with different Filters applied (Dev and QA) as below (simplified) . . . Filter / Variable Value / Variable Name Dev / c:\data\dev / FilePath QA / c:\data\qa / FilePath Do I need to apply a change within the settings of the package in SSIS or is it changed on the job step within Agent? Any help would be appreciated.

• Twin edges - Half edge data structure

  I have implemented a Half-edge data structure for loading 3d objects. I find that the part of assigning twin/pair edges takes the longest computation time (especially for objects which have hundreds of thousands half edges). The reason is that I use nested loops to accomplish this. Is there a simpler and efficient way of doing this? Below is the code which I've written. HE is the half-edge data structure. hearr is a vector containing all the half edges. vert is the starting vertex and end is the ending vertex. Thanks!! • The case of the mysterious MySQL caching across restarts

  I found a very slow MySQL query in my web app. The weird thing is that the query is only slow the first time it's executed, despite the fact that the query_cache is set to its default (query_cache_size 0) like so: mysql> show variables like 'query%'; +------------------------------+---------+ | Variable_name | Value | +------------------------------+---------+ | query_alloc_block_size | 8192 | | query_cache_limit | 1048576 | | query_cache_min_res_unit | 4096 | | query_cache_size | 0 | | query_cache_type | ON | | query_cache_wlock_invalidate | OFF | | query_prealloc_size | 8192 | +------------------------------+---------+ The even weirder thing is that this speedup persists even after the MySQL server has been stopped and restarted (I'm using OSX, and perform this restart using the system preferences pane.) The only way I can re-create the poor performance of the initial query is by rebooting the system. So my question is: how is this happening? Obviously some sort of caching at work, but where? And how does it persist across database restarts? This query is mediated through our web app, which comes via PHP/Apache, but there are no extra bells and whistles, and the curious caching also persists across Apache restarts. Help?

• cakephp htaccess for production install

  So, I have cakephp installed in what I believed to be the appropriate way for production code with actual cake files above the public_html folder. The app folder is removed from the cake folder and placed at the same level. Loading the home page works fine with the databases and the debug working. However, in trying to run some test files I get a 404. Obviously, I need some way to direct something like www.example.com/posts/index to the proper location. I am not sure as to why this is necessary since the index.php file tells cake where the app directory is located? Also, if I need to use the .htaccess file, how do I point to the proper location and exactly what am I pointed at?

  Hi all, After I quit simulator and click build the app from XCode, the iPhone Simulator loading and my app will be install and run. But the app just show only Default image (finish the applicationDidFinishLaunching method - I logs it) and do nothing. I can't do anything in Simulator, event click the "Home" button of Simulator. But the other time, when Simulator already running, I select the "Build" button in XCode and everything is fine. Can you tell me why and how does this issue effect my app when I build it with real device? Thanks a lot!

• Rendering HTML in rails without actually displaying it

  Hello all, My current project requires me to assemble a .zip file containing HTML and text-only templates for a user to download, for importing into an email marketing program. I've inherited this project, and currently the code uses a "fake" model (that is a model that does not directly correlate to a database table), in which it stores the entire template in a string, using dynamic variables to populate certain areas. The "fake" model then has a method for creating a zip file. It seems to me that there has to be a better way to do this. I was wondering if there was a way to move the template into a .erb/haml file, and then write a method that would populate the file in preparation for being zipped up? Basically, is there a way to render an HTML and text file, without actually having to display them? Thanks for any help.

• Backbone.js: How to utilize router.navigate to manipulate browser history?

  I am writing something like a registration process containing several steps, and I want to make it a single-page like system so after some studying Backbone.js is my choice. Every time the user completes the current step they will click on a NEXT button I create and I use the router.navigate method to update the url, as well as loading the content of the next page and doing some fancy transition with javascript. Result is, URL is updated which the page is not refreshed, giving a smooth user experience. However, when the user clicks on the back button of the browser, the URL gets updated to that of a previous step, but the content stays the same. My question is through what way I can capture such an event and currently load the content of the previous step and present that to the user? Or even better, can I rely on browser cache to load that previously loaded page? EDIT: in particular, I'm trying something like mentioned in this article.

• Multithreaded SDL error in C++

  I'm building a program in C++, using SDL, and am occasionally receiving this error: * glibc detected * ./assistant: double free or corruption (!prev) It's difficult to replicate, so I can't find exactly what's causing it, but I just added a second thread to the program, and neither thread run on its own seems to cause the error. The threads don't share any variables, though they both run the functions SDL_BlitSurface and SDL_Flip. Could running these concurrently throw up such an error, or am I barking up the wrong tree? If this is the cause, should I simply throw a mutex around all SDL calls? Thanks

  I'm looking for a way to easily read in a C# file and place it into a Java Object for database storage (storing the class name, functions, variables, etc). I'm making a Hierarchical State Machine AI Building Tool for a game I'm creating and need to be able to import an existing C# file and store it in a database for retrieval in the future. Does anyone know of any preexisting libraries for parsing C# files? Something similar to JavaParser? Thanks everyone! EDIT: This needs to be part of my Java Project.   I have a number of columns that I would like to drop from a data frame. I know that we can drop them using something like: df$x <- NULL but I was hoping to do this with less commands. Also, I know that I could use this: df[ -c(1,3:6, 12) ] but I am concerned that the relative position of my variables may change. Given how powerful R is, I figured I would ask to see if there is another way beyond dropping each column 1 by 1. Thanks in advance.

  Hi ! I have implemented a subview which is supposed to load immediately when I click a button in the parent view. After loading the subview(which is basically holding an activityindicator), the program is supposed to process a method(which gets data from a server, so takes time) in it. However, I am unable to do it. What happens now is, when I click the button on the parent view, it processes the method first and only after that does the subview load on screen. Why is this so? Is there any specific functions I could use to make my method load only after the view has loaded?

  I would like to be able to capture variable assignments from a Perl eval. That is, to determine what variable names have been assigned to within the code and extract their value. For example if I run: eval '$foo=42; $bar=3.14;' The result of the eval is 3.14 (the last value evaluated), but I would also like to be able to determine the names "$foo" and "$bar" and their values (without knowing the names in advance). I have read up on a couple of ways of inserting variables into the eval block, through Safe and Eval::Context, but not yet any way of extracting them. I am more familiar with Python's eval/exec which have built in support for this.

  I have big web application using JQuery UI Tabs. In central JS file I have setted all tabs. Using $("#tabs").tabs; But on one page I need to have selected another tab than first. If I use $("#tabs").{ selected: add }); (name of tab is #add) Its not running, probably because Tabs are already set up. Does anyone know how to set opened another than first tab (in default state - after loading page) if tabs are already turned on? I hope, you will understand, my English is pretty terrible.
