  • How do I fix SVC-FILWRT on Windows?

    I have to do some processing (enhancing metadata) on the XML document that are on my Marklogic database. For that I have created a new HTTP server that is pointing towards the database. Using that HTTP server, I write a XQuey that loop through all the XML documents in Marklogic database and send these XML documents to particular URL that reads the content from that document, append some metadata and then store back to ML. This is something I have tried on Linux platform with same version of Marklogic and it works great for me. But now, when I am trying the same on window platform (Windows 7 Enterprise addition) and it's not working. Approaches I tried to resolve that: Running Marklogic Server as "Run as Administrator". Putting HTTP server's Base directory into D:/ directory i.e. directory that does not have windows installed within it. Above same with putting forest to D:/ directory.   • Django 1.5 custom User model error. "Manager isn't available; User has been swapped"

    I extend the django user model as described in the dev doc. I wan't to keep most of the original User model features so I extend the AbstractUser class. I've defined in settings.py: AUTH_USER_MODEL = 'myapp.CustomUser' My user class: class CustomUser(AbstractUser): custom_field = models.ForeignKey('OtherModel') objects = UserManager() Everything seems to work fine but when I try to make it managed by the admin site: admin.site.register(CustomUser, UserAdmin) I get this error on the admin CustomUser creation page (after validation of the password confirmation form): AttributeError: Manager isn't available; User has been swapped for 'myapp.CustomUser' The point is that I need this model managed by the admin site in order to have the same creation process as with the original User model (two step process with password validation). In my web site I query my Blogger account and get blog posts to display on my web site.     Hello, I've looked at Net::Google, and 90% of the modules use AuthSub with a mandatory login/password. The right way for a web application to interact with Google applications on behalf of a customer is to use OAuth. That way, the authentication is done by Google, and the application does not know the user's password. This is supported by Net::Google::DocumentsList for example. Are you aware of modules that can work well with Picasa and Blogger, for example, using OAuth. The current Net::Google::PicasaWeb handles read-only queries, no add/remove/update actions.

    I get the strange error "Object moved to here." on a blank white page when I try to login on a site I created. It works fine locally but not when I deploy it to the test or production server.   • Creating compound applications in Windows 7

    I need to port a suite of Windows applications (running under XP with little security turned on) to Windows 7 with various levels of security, depending on how our clients may configure it. Each functional area is a seperate executable or DLL that is downloaded and registered by a central 'compound' application. This means that the different parts are all joined together to form in effect a large single application. My problem is that the compound application knows about the other applications via COM registery, either as a typelibrary or as OCXs, where appropriate. I have tried several questions here to try and solve the problems I am getting, but I don't seem to be able to get around the problem of needing elevated access to register applications and access the registry. Our clients will be expecting the same (relatively) seemless download and activation process as current under XP. So does anyone have a solution for registering typelibraries and OCX controls without need to go through an elevation process. Thanks in advance

  • Is it possible to prevent a locally-running SWF (AS3) from downloading from my website?

    I've got a crossdomain.xml file which allows SWFs running on only a certain few domains to download resources from my domain. However, one simple way around this is for a user to download the SWF to their local machine, and run it there (i.e. by double-clicking on it within Windows Explorer, not by running through http://localhost). It seems that when this happens, the crossdomain.xml file is ignored. I understand that in my actionscript, I can do this: if (Security.sandboxType.indexOf(Security.REMOTE) == -1) // running locally - don't allow However it is incredibly easy for someone to decompile the SWF and simply remove this line. Is it possible to do something on the server side to stop a locally running SWF to download from my site? I tried checking the referrer but this field often isn't populated.   • Strategy for developing a multi function asp.net web application

    I'm about to start a new project and want some advice on how to implement. I need a web application which contains a booking module for reserving timeslots, and a time management module which will enable employees to clock in / clock out. If I am writing an update to the time managment module, I don't want to disrupt the booking engine availability by releasing a new solution containing both modules. to make things more difficult, there is some shared functionality like common users, roles and security. Here's a suggestion I've gotten, which sounds a bit cruddy, but may be functional. Write a 'container' web application which consists of basically a frame, and authentication / security features. This then has links which, will load the 2 independantly built and released web applications into the frame. I can see that say, if I wanted to update the time management module, I would only need to build and release this separately, and the rest of the solution would be 'untouched' Any better alternatives?

    Hey I am connecting a MYSQL database through hibernate and i seem to have processes that are not being killed after they are finished in the session. I have called flush and close on each session but when i check the server the last processes are still there with a sleep command.   • Trying to catch integrity error with sqlaclhemey

    I'm having problems with trying to catch a error. I'm using pyramid/sqlalchemy and made a sign up form with email as the primary key. The problem is when a duplicate email is entered it raises a IntegrityError, so I'm trying to catch that error and provide a message but no matter what I do I can't catch it(the error keeps appearing). try: new_user = Users(email, firstname, lastname, password) DBSession.add(new_user) return HTTPFound(location = request.route_url('new')) except IntegrityError: message1 = "Yikes! Your email already exists in our system. Did you forget your password?" I get the same message when I tried except exc.SQLAlchemyError (although I want to catch specific errors and not a blanket catch all). Is there something wrong with my python syntax? or is there something I need to do special in sqlalchemy to catch it?

    I am writing a driver to act as a wrapper around two separate MySQL connections (to distributed databases). Basically, the goal is to enable interaction with my driver for all applications instead of requiring the application to sort out which database holds the desired data. Most of the code for this is in place, but I'm having a problem in that when I attempt to create connections via the MySQL Driver, the DriverManager is returning an instance of my driver instead of the MySQL Driver. I'd appreciate any tips on what could be causing this and what could be done to fix it! Below is a few relevant snippets of code. I can provide more, but there's a lot, so I'd need to know what else you want to see. First, from MyDriver.java: public MyDriver() throws SQLException { DriverManager.registerDriver(this); } public Connection connect(String url, Properties info) throws SQLException { try { return new MyConnection(info); } catch (Exception e) { return null; } } public boolean acceptsURL(String url) throws SQLException { if (url.contains("jdbc:jgb://")) { return true; } return false; } It is my understanding that this acceptsURL function will dictate whether or not the DriverManager deems my driver a suitable fit for a given URL. Hence it should only be passing connections from my driver if the URL contains "jdbc:jgb://" right?     Either I'm being really retarded here or its just the lack of sleep but why doesn't this work? If I use the "or" operator it works for each separate test but as soon as it change it to the "and" operator it stops working. I'm trying to test the password input of a form to see if its contains lowercase, uppercase and at least 1 number of symbol. It looks like the ruby-net-ldap gem wants me to connect to an LDAP server using an IP address, port and then pass my username and password. Is there a way to achieve this (with a different gem, say) so that I don't have to pass this information (I don't have the current user's password for example, so that's not going to work)? I'm also hosting a Trac website on our intranet (which is written in Python if I remember correctly and that seems to know the current Windows username and domain. If it can do it, surely my little ruby app can access this information too?

    Hi Everyone! I have a form where I've got three checkboxes like this: <td>Wireless <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="wireless" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Cellular <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="cellular" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Security <input type="checkbox" name="services[]" value="Security" /></td> <input type="submit" name="submit"> and then I extract($_POST), and have this code $comServices = implode(",", $services); but I get an error: Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in .. does anyone know why Im getting this error?
