Jquery Apache - IE problem

I'm having a button tag on my page with a value. <button class='btn' value='value'>show value</button> I have this jquery code : $('.btn').click(function() { var w = 'value = '+$(this).val()+' / text = '+$(this).html(); alert(w); }); In FF, no problem the result is ok (display: value = value / text = show value). The problem comes with IE8 which displays a different results from my testing server and the production server. The testing server is my local machine with a standard XAMPP installation. The productionserver is a server based on linux with apache, php and mysql. Result from the testing server is ok (display like FF), the result from the production server is not good (displaying : value = show value / text : show value). Anyone an idea if it is apache that causes the error ? I know there are some issues with the use of val() because IE is considering it as an attribute and not a value. The problem is that changing the jQuery from val() to attr('value') is quit a lot of work (this implementation is already on a lot of pages) and I think it could be much easier to change something on the webserver.

Custom UITableView headerView disappears after memory warning

I have a UITableViewController. This controller is hosted in a tab. When I switch to another tab and simulate a memory warning, and then come back to this tab, my UITableView is missing my custon header. All the rows/section are visible as I would expect. Putting a BP in the loadView code above, I see it being invoked when I switch back to the tab after the memory warning, and yet I can't actually see the header. Any ideas about what I'm missing here? EDIT: This happens on the device and the simulator. On the device, I just let a memory warning occur by opening a bunch of different apps while mine is in the background.

DotNetOpeId - Using OpenIdButton for Google Apps

I am an ASP.NET newbie and I am trying to design an OpenID/SSO system for an internal web application. The web application is pretty simple and the authentication is currently being managed by a database with usernames and passwords. I want to replace the existing accounts stored in the database with Google Apps accounts. I have downloaded the latest DotNetOpenAuth-3.4.3.10103 package and got the OpenIdRelyingPartyWebForms sample up and running on IIS. I have built my own login page using just a OpenIdButton object that points to a development Google domain. The button seems to work fine in FireFox, at least it is forwarding me to the Google Apps login, but nothing happens when I load the same page in IE. When I click the Google button, nothing happens, zip. The same is true for the Yahoo button in the login.aspx page given in the sample. Return parent of node in Binary Tree

I'm writing a code to return the parent of any node, but I'm getting stuck. I don't want to use any predefined ADTs. //Assume that nodes are represented by numbers from 1...n where 1=root and even //nos.=left child and odd nos=right child. public int parent(Node node){ if (node % 2 == 0){ if (root.left==node) return root; else return parent(root.left); } //same case for right } But this program is not working and giving wrong results. My basic algorithm is that the program starts from the root checks if it is on left or on the right. If it's the child or if the node that was queried else, recurses it with the child.

Multiple Input From Keyboard C# WPF

I am writing a Tetris clone in WPF. If I hold down the right arrow key, the current piece shifts right. For playability, I want to allow the user to press another key (i.e. F-key) and rotate the moving piece without having to let go of the right arrow key first. Currently when I do this, the piece stops shifting. My first basic attempt at this was hooking into Window_PreviewKeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) and then sending a message to the controller layer. How do I structure my input-listening code to allow this? My current code Here

Adding padding to HTML elements - IE, FF, Chrome etc.

Hello I've a doubt. Lets consider that we have a div of width 200px. If i add the following the style style="padding-left:10px; padding-right:10px" to the element what happens actually? Will the total width of the div increases to 220px with 10px at the left (for left padding), original width 200px at the middle and 10px at the right (for right padding)? Or will it takes the padding space from the 200px and becomes (10px + 180px + 10px)? Does the above rendering differs for each browser (especially IE and FF)? Thank you NLV

emails not working after domain has been forwarded to new hosting?

What's the best course of action after the forwarding of domain has been done and apparently the email has been forgotten to be taken into account? I just forwarded the domain to a new server hosting and i forgot to take into account the emails from the old provider? A few concerns arise: the emails won't be lost, right? will pointing the MX records to the old mail server IP address fix this issue right away? Thanks!

How can I position QDockWidgets as the screen shot shows using code?

I want a Qt window to come up with the following arrangement of dock widgets on the right. Qt allows you to provide an argument to the addDockWidget method of QMainWindow to specify the position (top, bottom, left or right) but apparently not how two QDockWidgets placed on the same side will be arranged. Cannot customize Solution Explorer project context menu in VS 2010

I'm trying to customize that context menu which comes up when you right click the project in the Solution Explorer. When I goto: Tools - Customize - Commands - Context Menu (radio button) - Project and Solution Context Menus | Project (drop down) I get nothing in the "controls:" list. I can modify other context menus starting with "Project and Solution Context Menus" but none of them is the right one. Any ideas? Currently I have ReSharper, PowerTools and StyleCop installed, but I have installed and uninstalled bunch of other addins (dotTrace, CodeIt.Right, VisualHG, DevExpress, random stuff from Extension Manager).

java detect clicked buttons

I have multiple panels on a JFrame window. I am going to populate each panel differently every time. For example: i start the GUI: (image center panel, right panel, bottom panel). Center panel is populated with 20 buttons, right panel with 10 buttons and bottom panel with 3. second start of the GUI (same gui). Center panel has 50 buttons, right panel has 12 buttons, bottom has 3. So everytime there is a random number of buttons, impossible to be all uniquely named. Given the fact that I don't have a unique name for each button (just a list) I would like to know which buttons were clicked according to the panel they belong to. is that possible?

Firefox/Chrome disable search opening in a new tab

When you select some text with Firefox and Chrome for that matter you can right click the highlight text and search some query (highlight the text above and right click) Search Google for "some query" How can I stop it from opening in the new tab. I cannot find it in about:config or chrome://plugins I don't want it opened in the SAME tab. I want it opened in a NEW tab but I DON'T want Firefox/Chrome to automatically switch to the new tab once opened..

Loading user control dynamically looses data

I have a created a user control. This user control I dynamically load on a page inside Telerik Panelbar control. I have done all necessary coding to save the viewstate and load this dynamically created usercontrol every time page loads. On this User control I have a asp panel. By default this panel is invisible. When user clicks a button on this user control panel is made visible. On page load of this user control I populate all the controls on this panel. Everything works fine if I don’t load this use control dynamically but when I load this user control dynamically and if I make panel visible by default then only all fields on the panel are populated. But if I make by default invisible and on button click make panel visible none of the text boxes or comboboxes are populated. I populate comboboxes on page load of the userControl but inbetween postbacks all the comboboxes on the user control loose data. SVG Using Adobe in IE doesn't work when loading page, but saving the page and then loading it works.

So I'm trying to get a SVG document to load in IE. I can see it fine, but all calls to .getSVGDocument() fail, the svg onload="onload()" function never gets called and the right-click Adobe SVG Viewer context menu doesn't show up when right-clicking on the svg. It seems as though I'm managing to crash the adobe SVG viewer or something before it is able to call the onload function but after it has drawn the SVG document. As a test I saved the html page to my hard drive and loaded it up and walla - it works! Right-click, onload, and .getSVGDocument() all work. Very curious. For some reason getting the page from the server makes the adobe plugin crap out but loading up static HTML is fine. Any thoughts?

ASP.NET 3.5 Stateless Session Managment and connection pooling?

I am designing an ASP.NET (3.5) web application that connects to a Rocket Software UniVerse database. I am in the planning stages right now and need some help in being pointed in the right direction. I am brand new to ASP and C#. I am shooting for a RESTful design and a MVC pattern. Rocket provides a .NET library called UniObjects.NET which handles everything for connecting and retrieving information from the database. What would be the best way to in general to log my users into the database, then use that session via connection pooling? I see that in 3.5 there is the ASP.NET Routing Infrastructure and that looks promising am I in the right direction on this? Also does C# support decorators like Python and Java?

Why won't my WPF XAML Grid TranslateTransform.X ?

How do I track a branch of another repository on the same machine?

I have two private repositories on one machine. Let's call them repo-A and repo-B, which are the directories ~/repo-A and ~/repo-B, respectively. repo-A has two relevant branches: master and live. I'd like to set up repo-B to track repo-A's live branch, so that git pull will pull any updates from repo-A's live branch into repo-B's master branch. Right now, I have the following in repo-B's .git/config: [remote "origin"] url = /home/stutzbach/repo-A/ fetch = +refs/heads/live:refs/remotes/origin/live [branch "master"] remote = origin merge = refs/heads/master However, when I run git pull, it seems to pull from repo-A's master branch. Obviously, I don't have it set up right. What's the right way?

CALayer Border is appearing above subview (Z-order related, I think)

I have searched but could not find the reason for this behavior. I have a UIButton whose image I am setting. Here is how the button should appear. Note that this is just a photoshop of the intended button design: Essentially, it is a square custom UIButton with a white border and a little surrounding shadow. In the upper right corner, there is a "X" mark, that will be added programmatically as a subview. Here is the screenshot of the button within the actual app. At this point, I have only added a shadow and the X mark as a subview: How, when I try to add the white border, here is what it looks like: It seems that the white border is appearing above the X mark sublayer. I don't know why. Hi All, I am using asp:button to create a keyboard with A-Z and 0-9 for touch screen using Java script. This keyboard is linked with one textbox. If we click one button corresponding text will be displayed on the textbox. Its working fine. I have included the autocomplete feature to this textbox using jquery JQuery Autocomplete. Problem: The autocomplete is not working if i my user define keyboard. How to modify my key buttons as keyboard keys? Is it possible? Is there any other way to achieve this? SharePoint - Remote machine shows wrong design

Hi.! I am creating a SharePoint public website on SharePoint Server 2007. I've added my custom Master-page for Publishing site. When I see, Home page, on my local machine, in the content area of my page it shows me IMAGE on the right as I want to see. But, When I see that page on my remote machine It shows my IMAGE on the left, instead of right side. Dice Emulation - ImageView

I am trying to emulate dice using ImageView. When I click the button, nothing seems to happen. I have hard coded this example to replace the image with imageView4 for debugging purposes (I was making sure the random wasn't fail). Can anyone point out what I am doing wrong? Custom layout/group switching keys in Linux

I'm using Ubuntu (Karmic) and 2 keyboard layouts. Using the gnome settings, I managed to set it to switch with Alt+Shift (windows style), but I really want to limit it to Right Alt + Right Shift, but that option isn't available in the gnome wizard. I've opened gconf-editor and found the kbd configuration, but trying to add 'r' or 'right_' prefixes to the keys didn't help. Is this possible?
