• Apache 2.2, worker mpm, mod_fcgid and PHP: Can't apply process slot

  We're having an issue on an apache server where every 15 to 20 minutes it stops serving PHP requests entirely. On occasions it will return a 503 error, other times it will recover enough to serve the page but only after a delay of a minute or more. Static content is still served during that time. I rebuilt mod_fcgid from source as the packaged version was quite old. It's using current stable version (2.3.6) of mod_fcgid. • apache pointing to the wrong version of python on ubuntu how do I change?

  I am setting up a flask application on and Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS EC2 instance and everything seemed to be working well (i.e. I could get to the webpage via the publicly available url) until I tried to import a module (e.g. numpy) and realised the apache python differs from the one I used to compile the mod_wsgi and also the one I am using I am running apache2. The apache2 logs show the warnings (specifically the last line shows the path hasnt changed): [warn] mod_wsgi: Compiled for Python/2.7.5. [warn] mod_wsgi: Runtime using Python/2.7.3. • Nagios 403 forbidden, indexes?

  installed nagios under freebsd 9, but can't get the right way to be public in browser (from other pc's). I think that the problem is in the indexes or that there is not index file (instead main.php). Apache says that syntax is ok. The permissions of the dir are 777. The logs print Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /usr/local/www/nagios/. • localhost won't load after adding config data to httpd

  I am not very experienced with configuring httpd, and I am following a tutorial to view my site w/ domain name under localhost. My localhost just blanks out and my apache services won't restart. I checked all of my paths and they are correct. I am editing the w*indows/system32/drivers/etc/host*s file and my apache httpd file.   Hi Folks, I have an application with client server architecture. The client use Java Web Start with Java Swing / AWT and the sert uses HTTP server / Servlet with Tomcat. The communication is made from the serialization of objects, create a ObjectOutput serializes a byte array and send to the server respectively called the ObjectInputStream and deserializes. The application follows communicating correctly to a certain time of concurrency where starting to show error "SocketException read timeout". The erro happens when the server invoke the method ObjectInputStream.getObject() in my servlet doPost method. The tomcat will come slow and the errors start to decrease server response time until the crash time where i must restart the server and after everything works. Someone went through this problem ?

• Dynamically generate PDF and email it using django

  I have a django app that dynamically generates a PDF (using reportlab + pypdf) from user input on an HTML form, and returns the HTTP response with an application/pdf MIMEType. I want to have the option between doing the above, or emailing the generated pdf, but I cannot figure out how to use the EmailMessage class's attach(filename=None, content=None, mimetype=None) method. The documentation doesn't give much of a description of what kind of object content is supposed to be. I've tried a file object and the above application/pdf HTTP response. I currently have a workaround where my view saves a pdf to disk, and then I attach the resulting file to an outgoing email using the attach_file() method. This seems wrong to me, and I'm pretty sure there is a better way.

  I'm developing a line drawing game, similar to Flight Control, Harbor Master, and others in the appstore, using Cocos2D. For this game, I need a CCSprite to follow a line that the user has drawn. I'm storing a sequence of CGPoint structs in an NSArray, based on the points I get in the touchesBegin and touchesMoved messages. I now have the problem of how to make my sprite follow them. I have a tick method, that is called at the framerate speed. In that tick method, based on the speed and current position of the sprite, I need to calculate its next position. Is there any standard way to achieve this? My current approach is calculate the line between the last "reference point" and the next one, and calculate the next point in that line. The problem I have is when the sprite "turns" (moves from one segment of the line to another). Any hint will be greatly appreciated.

• Why does WPF toggle button pulse once unchecked

  Wihtin a Desktop app I have a toggle button: For the Checked event I am setting a value and then executing a method FilterView(); //ommitting code Unchecked state is just the opposite. resets a variable and executed the method again The question I have is I noticed when I uncheck the toggle button the button continues to pulse or flash ( going from blue to chrome) as if it still has focus. The button will stay like this until another button is clicked. Is there a way to remove this focus so that when the button is unchecked the button goes back to a unchecked state without the flashing / pulsing color. As you can see from above this is a standard toggle button no styles or custom I tested this on just a regular button and I found the same occured when clicked the button will continue to pulse / flash until another button is clicked. How do you work around this or prevent this effect from happening. Thank you

In request body I need to send json string containing basic information about the invoked method. My question is how should this json look like? Parameter name: s. What am I doing wrong? What are required parameters of sending json and how should it be formatted?

• WCF Windows Service - Long operations/Callback to calling module

  I have a Windows Service that takes the name of a bunch of files and do operations on them (zip/unzip, updating db etc). The operations can take time depending on size and number of files sent to the service. (1) The module that is sending a request to this service waits until the files are processed. I want to know if there is a way to provide a callback in the service that will notify the calling module when it is finished processing the files. Please note that multiple modules can call the service at a time to process files so the service will need to provide some kind of a TaskId I guess. (2) If a service method is called and is running and another call is made to the same service, then how will that call be processed(I think there is only one thread asociated with the service). I have seen that when the service is taking time in processing a method, the threads associated with the service begin to increase.

• Debian's Wordpress with broken plugin path?

  I've installed an Wordpress from Debian Wheezy package system and the plugins folder appears to be broken. As stated in the error log files of Apache2: [error] File does not exist: /var/lib/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/var The plugins are looking for an URL based on the full path, and not on the relative path. I can "temporary fix" the problem making a symbolic link to /var on the plugins folder, but I know that this is wrong and dirty. I don't know where to start debugging this. So any help is welcome.   Hi. My goal is to manipulate the text-styles of my application via DependencyProperties. I got a diagram in which the texts are to be manipulated in size, fontfamily, color, etc. So I'd like to use an interface similar to a rich text editor like Word. So is this the wrong place to start at? I'd also be grateful if someone could hint me to some documentation about using these Style-, Setter-, Binding-key-words, which are used in the ToStyle method, since this is somebody elses code I'm working with.

I did have a read of this article and its follow-up, but so far I've had trouble determining how to go about adding the interceptor code without the use of Spring (this is for a JUnit test). How might I go about authenticating against this Web service?

  Hello everyone, There is well known recommendation not to include into class interface method that returns a pointer (or a reference) to private data of the class. But what do you think about public method of a class that sends to another class a pointer to the private data of the first one. For example: class A { public: void fA(void) {_b.fB(&_var)}; private: B _b; int _var; }; I think that it is some sort of data hiding damage: the private data define state of their own class, so why should one class delegate changes of its own state to another one? • Rendering a derived partial view with Html.RenderPartial

  Calling Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Payments/MyControl.ascx"); from a view works if Method.ascx is a control that directly inherits System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl. However, if the control inherits a new class that derives from System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl, the call to Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Payments/MyDerivedControl.ascx"); fails, reporting that no such view exists. Example derived ViewUserControl: class MyDerivedControl : System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl { public Method() { ViewData["SomeData"] = "test"; } } Is there a workaround, or is there another way I should be doing this? Perhaps an HTML helper?

• prevent the designer from calling a getter (VS 2008, WinForms)

  hi, I have a simple UserControl containing a ComboBox which is empty at first. The setter for that CB adds items to it and the getter returns the selected item. When adding this UC to a Form, the designer automatically calls the getter for the CB which is empty. The method to fill up the CB with items is called later. I can think of one or two ways to bypass this problem by "messing around" in the code. But before I start that I'd like to ask you if there is a way to stop the designer from calling the getter method. Maybe with a attribute similar to Browsable or Bindable? thx

I will refer to these two articles to explain things and ask my questions: MSDN article on asynchronous client sockets and devarticles.com article on socket programming. My question is about the BeginReceive() method. The MSDN article uses these two functions to handle receiving data: private static void Receive(Socket client) { try { // Create the state object. Now my questions are: What is the point of passing a state to the BeginReceive method if we're only working with a single socket? Is it to avoid using a class field? It seems like there's little point in doing it, but maybe I'm missing something. How can the state parameter help when dealing with multiple sockets? If I'm calling client.BeginReceive(...), won't all the data be read from the client socket? The devarticles.com tutorial makes it sound like in this call: m_asynResult = m_socClient.BeginReceive (theSocPkt.dataBuffer,0,theSocPkt.dataBuffer.Length, SocketFlags.None,pfnCallBack,theSocPkt); Data will be read from the theSocPkt.thisSocket socket, instead of from the m_socClient socket. In their example the two are one and the same, but what happens if that is not the case? I just don't really see where that last argument is useful or at least how it helps with multiple sockets. If I have multiple sockets, I still need to call BeginReceive on each of them, right?
