  • How to select number of lines from large text files?

    - by MiNdFrEaK
    I was wondering how to select number of lines from a certain text file. As an example: I have a text file containing the following lines: branch 27 : rect id 23400 rect: -115.475609 -115.474907 31.393650 31.411301 branch 28 : rect id 23398 rect: -115.474907 -115.472282 31.411301 31.417351 branch 29 : rect id 23396 rect: -115.472282 -115.468033 31.417351 31.427151 branch 30 : rect id 23394 rect: -115.468033 -115.458733 31.427151 31.438181 Non-Leaf Node: level=1 count=31 address=53 branch 0 : rect id 42 rect: -115.768539 -106.251556 31.425039 31.717550 branch 1 : rect id 50 rect: -109.559479 -106.009361 31.296721 31.775299 branch 2 : rect id 51 rect: -110.937401 -106.226143 31.285870 31.771971 branch 3 : rect id 54 rect: -109.584412 -106.069092 31.285240 31.775230 branch 4 : rect id 56 rect: -109.570961 -106.000954 31.296721 31.780769 branch 5 : rect id 58 rect: -115.806213 -106.366188 31.400450 31.687519 branch 6 : rect id 59 rect: -113.173859 -106.244057 31.297440 31.627750 branch 7 : rect id 60 rect: -115.811478 -106.278252 31.400450 31.679470 branch 8 : rect id 61 rect: -109.953888 -106.020111 31.325319 31.775270 branch 9 : rect id 64 rect: -113.070969 -106.015968 31.331841 31.704750 branch 10 : rect id 68 rect: -113.065689 -107.034576 31.326300 31.770809 branch 11 : rect id 71 rect: -112.333344 -106.059860 31.284081 31.662920 branch 12 : rect id 73 rect: -115.071083 -106.309677 31.267879 31.466850 branch 13 : rect id 74 rect: -116.094414 -106.286308 31.236290 31.424770 branch 14 : rect id 75 rect: -115.423264 -106.286308 31.229691 31.415510 branch 15 : rect id 76 rect: -116.111656 -106.313110 31.259390 31.478300 branch 16 : rect id 77 rect: -116.247467 -106.309677 31.240231 31.451799 branch 17 : rect id 78 rect: -116.170792 -106.094543 31.156429 31.391781 branch 18 : rect id 79 rect: -116.225723 -106.292709 31.239960 31.442850 branch 19 : rect id 80 rect: -116.268013 -105.769913 31.157240 31.378111 branch 20 : rect id 82 rect: -116.215424 -105.827202 31.198441 31.383421 branch 21 : rect id 83 rect: -116.095734 -105.826439 31.197460 31.373819 branch 22 : rect id 84 rect: -115.423264 -105.815018 31.182640 31.368891 branch 23 : rect id 85 rect: -116.221527 -105.776512 31.160931 31.389830 branch 24 : rect id 86 rect: -116.203369 -106.473831 31.168350 31.367611 branch 25 : rect id 87 rect: -115.727631 -106.501587 31.189100 31.395941 branch 26 : rect id 88 rect: -116.237289 -105.790756 31.164780 31.358959 branch 27 : rect id 89 rect: -115.791344 -105.990044 31.072620 31.349529 branch 28 : rect id 90 rect: -115.736847 -106.495079 31.187969 31.376900 branch 29 : rect id 91 rect: -115.721710 -106.000130 31.160351 31.354601 branch 30 : rect id 92 rect: -115.792236 -106.000793 31.166620 31.378811 Leaf Node: level=0 count=21 address=42 branch 0 : rect id 18312 rect: -106.412270 -106.401367 31.704750 31.717550 branch 1 : rect id 18288 rect: -106.278252 -106.253387 31.520321 31.548361 I just want those lines which are in between Non-Leaf Node level=1 to Leaf Node Level=0 and also there are a lot of segments like this and I need them all.

  • Reading file data during form's clean method

    - by Dominic Rodger
    So, I'm working on implementing the answer to my previous question. Here's my model: class Talk(models.Model): title = models.CharField(max_length=200) mp3 = models.FileField(upload_to = u'talks/', max_length=200) Here's my form: class TalkForm(forms.ModelForm): def clean(self): super(TalkForm, self).clean() cleaned_data = self.cleaned_data if u'mp3' in self.files: from mutagen.mp3 import MP3 if hasattr(self.files['mp3'], 'temporary_file_path'): audio = MP3(self.files['mp3'].temporary_file_path()) else: # What goes here? audio = None # setting to None for now ... return cleaned_data class Meta: model = Talk Mutagen needs file-like objects - the first case (where the uploaded file is larger than the size of file handled in memory) works fine, but I don't know how to handle InMemoryUploadedFile that I get otherwise. I've tried: # TypeError (coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, InMemoryUploadedFile found) audio = MP3(self.files['mp3']) # TypeError (coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, cStringIO.StringO found) audio = MP3(self.files['mp3'].file) # Hangs seemingly indefinitely audio = MP3(self.files['mp3'].file.read()) Is there something wrong with mutagen, or am I doing it wrong?

  • c++ specialized overload?

    - by acidzombie24
    -edit- i am trying to close the question. i solved the problem with boost::is_base_and_derived In my class i want to do two things. 1) Copy int, floats and other normal values 2) Copy structs that supply a special copy function (template T copyAs(); } the struct MUST NOT return int's unless i explicitly say ints. I do not want the programmer mistaking the mistake by doing int a = thatClass; -edit- someone mention classes dont return anything, i mean using the operator Type() overload. How do i create my copy operator in such a way i can copy both 1) ints, floats etc and the the struct restricted in the way i mention in 2). i tried doing template <class T2> T operator = (const T2& v); which would cover my ints, floats etc. But how would it differentiate from structs? so i wrote T operator = (const SomeGenericBase& v); The idea was the GenericBase would be unsed instead then i can do v.Whatever. But that backfires bc the functions i want wouldnt exist, unless i use virtual, but virtual templates dont exist. Also i would hate to use virtual I think the solution is to get rid of ints and have it convert to something that can do .as(). So i wrote something up but now i have the same problem, how does that differentiate ints and structs that have the .as() function template?

  • How do I Convert ARGB value from string to colour?

    - by James
    I am trying to use the MakeColor method in the GDIPAPI unit but the conversion from int to byte is not returning me the correct value. Example var argbStr: string; A, R, G, B: Byte; begin argbStr := 'ffffcc88'; A := StrToInt('$' + Copy(AValue, 1, 2)); R := StrToInt('$' + Copy(AValue, 3, 2)); G := StrToInt('$' + Copy(AValue, 5, 2)); B := StrToInt('$' + Copy(AValue, 7, 2)); Result := MakeColor(A, R, G, B); end; What am I doing wrong?

  • How do I make log4j create log files on demand only?

    - by Mirvnillith
    We have a modular application where modules have their own log4j logs (i.e. communication log and error log). The appenders and categories for these are all configured in the core log4j XML, but not all modules are always installed. The DailyRollingFileAppender creates its file regardless of use and that exposes the full set of modules although not present and as some of them are customer specific we'd like to hide logs not in use. Is there a way to make DailyRollingFileAppender create its file on first use instead of automatically at startup?

  • Handling extra newlines in csv files parsed with Python?

    - by rmihalyi
    I have a CSV file that contains extra newlines in some fields, e.g.: A, B, C, D, E, F 123, 456, tree , very, bla, indigo I tried the following: import csv catalog = csv.reader(open('test.csv', 'rU'), delimiter=",", dialect=csv.excel_tab) for row in catalog: print "Length: ", len(row), row and the result I got was this: Length: 6 ['A', ' B', ' C', ' D', ' E', ' F'] Length: 3 ['123', ' 456', ' tree'] Length: 4 [' ', ' very', ' bla', ' indigo'] Does anyone have any idea how I can quickly remove extraneous newlines? Thanks!

  • Why does Perl's Devel::LeakTrace::Fast point to blank files and evals?

    - by kt
    I am using Devel::LeakTrace::Fast to debug a memory leak in a perl script designed as a daemon which runs an infinite loop with sleeps until interrupted. I am having some trouble both reading the output and finding documentation to help me understand the output. The perldoc doesn't contain much information on the output. Most of it makes sense, such as pointing to globals in DBI. Intermingled with the output, however, are several leaked SV(<LOCATION>) from (eval #) line # Where the numbers are numbers and <LOCATION> is a location in memory. The script itself is not using eval at any point - I have not investigated each used module to see if evals are present. Mostly what I want to know is how to find these evals (if possible). I also find the following entries repeated over and over again leaked SV(<LOCATION>) from line # Where line # is always the same #. Not very helpful in tracking down what file that line is in.

  • FileSystemWatcher surpassing Active Directory restrictions

    - by DevexPP
    While experimenting with FileSystemWatcher, I've found out that it somehow surpasses Active Directory's restrictions to files and folders, and will raise change events with information about what has changed in files and folders that you don't even have access to. I have two questions about that: 1) Why does this happen ? 2) Is this a problem in the AD configuration ? how do I fix it ? 3) Is there any way to gather these files, or even create a FileSystemInfo of them to get more info about the files (not only the changes made on them) ? As far as I've tried, only the FileSystemWatcher immune to the restrictions, I can't run any other thing over it, here's a list of what I've tried: File.Exists Directory.Exists FileInfo instance on found files DirectoryInfo instance on found files File.Copy File.Delete

  • Can log4net appenders be defined in their own XML files?

    - by ladenedge
    I want to define a handful of (ADO.NET) appenders in my library, but allow users of my library to configure the use of those appenders. Something like this seems to be what I want: XmlConfigurator.Configure(appenderStream1); XmlConfigurator.Configure(appenderStream2); XmlConfigurator.Configure(); But that doesn't seem work, in spite of the debug output containing messages like this: Configuration update mode [Merge]. What is the right way to do this? Or, is there an alternative to asking users to duplicate large chunks of XML configuration?

  • Can you use Ant to Build/Modify XML files?

    - by user369701
    I am quite new to ant and have been looking at the tasks. I am trying to generate an xml file. Do I need to call an external process or does ant have some way to do this? It could be as simple as sending a string to a txt file and saving it as a .xml. Is it possible?

  • I really need help with Delphi... text files and arrays with sorting?

    - by DTB
    I have read a text file (of names) into an array and I need how to sort those names into alphabetical order and display that in a rich edit? Please give me the code from this point onwards: readln(myfile,arr[i]); 'myfile' is the text file and 'arr' is the array of string. Also, I have declared 'i' as an integer even though it is a array of string. Is that OK?

  • How to create an MSI package that installs no files and only executes some commands using Wix

    - by Sevas
    I am trying to create an MSI package that uses the AppCmd application to configure IIS7. It only has to execute some commands that call AppCmd. Some commands need to be called when installing, other commands need to be called when uninstalling. Here is what I have now: I have a property that points to AppCmd: <Property Id="APPCMD" Value="C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe" /> I have my custom actions: <CustomAction Id="UnlockHandlerSection" Return="check" Property="APPCMD" ExeCommand="unlock config /section:system.webServer/handlers" /> I have Custom elements that call the actions: <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action="UnlockHandlerSection" After="InstallFiles">NOT Installed AND NOT PATCH</Custom> <InstallExecuteSequence> The problem with this is is that the commands are not called when I try to install the resulting MSI package. Could anyone please advise me on what I am doing wrong? Thank you!

  • Visual Studio 2008 & Perforce. Where is my .vspscc files?

    - by P-P
    Hi, I use Visual Studio 2008 and Perforce. When I bind my project to perforce(File - Source Control - Change Source Control - Bind), Visual Studio complain like "~.vspscc File is not under source control". Should I create that file for myself, or is that file created by Visual Studio? If it is created by Visual Studio, why does it complain about it? Thanks in advance.

  • Python Logging across multiple classes and files; how to configure so as to be easily disabled?

    - by mellort
    Currently, I have osmething like this in all of my classes: # Import logging to log information import logging # Set up the logger LOG_FILENAME = 'log.txt' logging.basicConfig(filename=LOG_FILENAME,level=logging.DEBUG) This works well, and I get the output I want, but I would really like to have all this sort of information in one place, and be able to just do something like import myLogger and then start logging, and then hopefully be able to just go into that file and turn off logging when I need an extra performance boost. Thanks in advance

  • Can I add Boost source+header files to my own (Open Source) project?

    - by rubenvb
    Is it allowed by the Boost License to just add the source code of the stuff I need to my project (accompanied by the license of course?). I couldn't find any "descriptive" confirmation. I would have seperate Include/boost and Source/boost directories for easy access. PS: Seeing as boost::filesystem is going into C++0x TR2, and lambda's are already in c++0x TR1, I don't see any reason to be juggling with C functions like realpath, getcwd and the like. They don't work well anyways...

  • How should I handle header files in a bundle?

    - by ldiqual
    I want to develop a program that relies on plugins (here: loadable bundles) to work. Multiple plugins are asked to use the same AFNetworking ressource to make network requests. However, I don't know where to put AFNetworking and CustomPluginProtocol headers. Here is how my program structure looks like for now: MyApp.xcodeproj - AFNetworking - Header.h - Plugins - Plugin1.xcodeproj - PrincipalClass.m - Plugin2.xcodeproj - PrincipalClass.m - Classes - CustomPluginProtocol.h - MainClass.m Of course, every principalClass from PluginN complies to the CustomPluginProtocol. Do the headers have to be copied in each bundle ? Can I just include the main program AFNetworking headers from my plugins ? If so (and that's what I do for now), I don't have any completion. How can I get it ? Edit Ok, so maybe I wasn't clear in my question. I want my plugins to use sources from the main application, let's say CommonClass.m and CommonClass.h. Do the plugins need CommonClass.h in their bundle, and if not, how do I enable completion when I'm in the plugin scope ?

  • XSL transformation of SVG adds namespace attribute to new tag

    - by Steve
    I have a SVG file that I want to extend by adding onclick handlers to edges and nodes. I also want to add a script tag referring to a JavaScript. The problem is that the script tag gets an empty namespace attribute added to it. I haven't found any information regarding this that I understand. Why does XSLT add an empty namespace? XSL file: <?xml version="1.0"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:svg="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="utf-8" /> <xsl:template match="/svg:svg"> <xsl:copy> <script type="text/ecmascript" xlink:href="base.js" /> <!-- this tag gets a namespace attr --> <xsl:apply-templates /> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> <!-- Identity transform http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt#copying --> <xsl:template match="@*|node()"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> <!-- Check groups and add functions --> <xsl:template match="svg:g"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:if test="@class = 'node'"> <xsl:attribute name="onclick">node_clicked()</xsl:attribute> </xsl:if> <xsl:if test="@class = 'edge'"> <xsl:attribute name="onclick">edge_clicked()</xsl:attribute> </xsl:if> <xsl:apply-templates select="@*|node()" /> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>
