• What is causing a Hibernate SQL query exception?

  Hi all and sorry in advance for this post but I've spent way too much time going around in circles so I'm hoping someone could shed a light on it here for me. I updated a webapp on Tomcat and I'm getting the following error which didn't exist on the previous version. Though I am quite confident that the part of code I modifed isn't to blame as I have tested the app on two different dev servers. The production server is configured thus: CentOS 5.4 virtual server with tomcat 5.5.23 running mysql 5.0.77. The two dev servers are: Windows XP SP2 running tomcat 5.5.23 with mysql 5.1.49 Mac OSX 10.6.6 Running tomcat 6 with mysql 5.1.51 The application was developed using struts (1.1 as far as I can gather) with hibernate 3 as the peristence layer. It only fails on the production server for some reason I can't fathom. I'd like to draw your attention to the java.sql.SQLException near the bottom. After some long searching I found this but because it was posted years ago (about 1 year before development started on this app I'm sure Hibernate has evolved from that version. as I can't find a way of implementing his solution. I use Eclipse Helios as an IDE. • creating a custom centered cyclic horizontal manager

  Trying to create a custom cyclical horizontal manager which will work as follows. It will control several field buttons where the buttons will always be positioned so that the focused button will be in the middle of the screen. As it is a cyclical manager once the focus moves to the right or left button, it will move to the center of the screen and all the buttons will move accordingly (and the last button will become the first to give it an cyclic and endless list feeling) Any idea how to address this? I tried doing this by implementing a custom manager which aligns the buttons according to the required layout. Each time moveFocus() is called I remove all fields (deleteAll() ) and add them again in the right order. Unfortunately this does not work.

• SQL 2008 Database tuning advisor won't start

  For some reason I can't get DTA to connect to my development machine. It connects to a remote DB just fine but when I point it to my dev machine I get an error saying: Failed to initialize MSDB database for tuning (exit code: -1073741819). I'm pretty sure it's not a permissions issue since I've used profiler to capture what it's doing and all of the commands it's run so far look fine and are being run under my account which is associated with the sysadmin role, when I run them in sql management studio they go through fine. I'm pretty convinced that the problem is related to creating the objects in MSDB that are used by DTA but I tried creating these manually (I found scripts on the web) and it just seems to push the problem along the line slightly. I'm going out of my mind - have even tried reinstalling SQL but that's not fixed it. I'm using SQL 2008 with SP1 (10.0.2531) on windows server 2008 (patched up to date). SAVE ME!!!!!

• Android delivering different Cell IDs (Neighboring Cell Info)

  Hello. Using an Android Dev Phone 2, I'm using the GsmCellLocation.getCid() method to get the Cell ID on my network. When I run the command and get all the CellIDs for the NeighboringCellInfo I get this values: 597195726 597185722 597195718 597110191 597101100 597175726 I'm running this using the SDK 1.6. The problem is that when I run the Engineering Mode on a GSM modem that I have, running a command to obtain the Neighboring Cell IDs, I get this values: 34253 0 34223 34262 34181 0 What is the difference here? In what format is Android delivering the Cell IDs? I tried doing a "cell.getCid() & 0xffff" but now I'm getting the values: 21690 31686 37068 11695 11694 31694 Which are still different from the one that the GSM Modem is delivering with the Engineering Mode. Obviously I tried this on at the same time, same location. I'm trying to get the same Cell IDs that the external GSM modem I using is delivering Please provide any help Thanks in advance!

  I have determined that two jaxb plugin for maven2 exist, with some different configurations. The one is from Sun: http://jaxb.dev.java.net/jaxb-maven2-plugin/ the other from Mojo: http://mojo.codehaus.org/jaxb2-maven-plugin/ Has anybody experience with these two plugins, and give a recommendation? • IE8 Developer Tools won't open

  Just installed IE8 on WinXP. Trying to use the Dev Tools but, clicking on the menu item or hitting F12 doesn't do anything. I can see the option in the tools menu, just can't use it. I've checked to make sure it wasn't opening minimized or off screen and I've checked the registry settings used to disable them. Those registry keys don't even exists. Suggestions? I was going to reinstall, but, thought I'd check here first.

  I have been searching for this all night and I have just so frustrated. When a MKPinAnnotationView is clicked, the name and the subtitle comes up. I also want to center that point on the view. I figured there was some method I had to override because the information that pops up happened without me having to code it. Hopefully this was clear enough for you all. And in the mean time, I feel like there is some hidden guide on this use of MKMaps and other classes.   I have a 100x100 pixel image that I want to draw at various angles rotated around the center of the image. The following code works, but rotates around the original origo of the coordinate system (upper left hand corner) and not the translated location. Thus the image is not rotated around itself but around the upper left corner of the screen. • Why does ffmpeg stop randomly in the middle of a process?

  ffmpeg feels like its taking a long time. I then look at my output file and i see it stops between 6 and 8mbs. A fully encoded file is about 14mb. Why does ffmpeg stop? My code locks up on StandardOutput.ReadToEnd();. I had to kill the process (after seeing it not move for more then 10 seconds when i see it update every second previously) then i get the results of stdout and err. stdout is "" stderr is below. The output msg shows the filesize ended. I also see a drop in my CPU usage when it stops. I copyed the argument from visual studios. CD to the same working directory and ran the cmd (bin/ffmpeg) and pasted the argument. • Semi-transparent PNG Image on transparent Form

  Hello, I have a problem dealing with transparent images on transparent Forms. I have been trying and looking for a solution but nothing useful came up. The problem is: I have a Form, this Form has a Panel and the Panel has a PictureBox. Form and Panel are transparent. Now, if the image of the PictureBox has no semi-transparent it works. But if there is a gradient transparency then the "transparent color" is shown. I need the Panel and the PictureBox, so the PerPixelAlpha does not apply for this case. The Form will also have more Controls that should be visible and non transparent (just the PNG image should be transparent). The image below shows: [Left] When the Panel is not transparent. • Why can't WordPress create directories when uploading themes?

  I can't workout how to solve this problem so wordpress would let me upload themes. I have a fresh copy of Fedora 17 installed on my dev machine. I then installed mysql using: yum install mysql mysql-server. Next I installed WordPress which also installs apache and php: yum install wordpress I can go to http://localhost/wordpress and see WordPress working. But when I try tried to install my theme it asked for ftp credentials. I then updated the wp-config.php file and set the FS_METHOD constant to direct. Now it doesn't ask for ftp credentials but it gives me this error: Could not create directory. /usr/share/wordpress/wp-content/themes/my-theme-name/ httpd service is running under 'apache' user and 'apache' group. The /usr/share/wordpress/ directory is recursively own by 'apache' user and 'apache' group too. I've even set the permissions to 777 (also recursively) and even then I keep getting the same error as above. How can I solve this problem?

  I've checked out Apple's Quick Look Programming Guide: Introduction to Quick Look page in the Mac Dev Center, but as a more of a science programmer rather than an Apple programmer, it is a little over my head (but I could get through it in a weekend if I bash my head against it long enough). Does anyone know of a good basic Quick Look Generators tutorial that is simple enough for someone with only very modest experience with Xcode? For those that are curious, I have a filetype called .evt that has an xml header and then binary info after the header. I'm trying to write a generator to display the xml header. SOLVED: Actually name of my constant was _DIR_APPLICATION (code above was copied from ZF manual) - problem lies in this underscore at the begining - it seems that parse_ini_file() in PHP 5.3.0 doesn't replace constants named like this.   I am working with a site that uses virtual earth for its mapping. Unfortunately the file size of the referenced javascript file, ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx?v=6.2, is 200 something kb before being expanded (to 970kb). As our site runs under https this file is not cached on the client, and can cause a few seconds delay to users, made more substantial in times of high load. My question is, is there anyway to get virtual earth to run smaller, or have more efficient lazy loading? At the moment it looks like our hands are tied.

• How to paint fully transparent pixels/points in P2D mode?

  According to the Processing Reference, stroke(gray, alpha) allows to set the color and opacity of the stroke. With the default color mode, an alpha value of 255 denotes full opacity, while a value of 0 should correspond to complete transparency. While this works with the (default) JAVA2D renderer, I can't seem to paint fully transparent points in P2D mode. • Cache Refresh in Chrome

  I dunno what exactly it's called, by cache refresh I mean, refresh the page after clearing its cache. I don't want to clear the entire browser cache. I prefer Chrome's Dev panel against firebug... don't ask me why. But I can't seem to cache refresh my pages. In FF, I know it to be Shift+Refresh. In chrome, I've tried Ctrl+R, Ctrl+Refresh, Alt+Refresh, Shift+Refresh but none of them work. EDIT: I got a Notable Question Badge for the lamest question I've ever asked. FML.
