  Hi. I've got a wired network connection and if I'm using network manager (hereafter "NM") everything works fine except for the hardware address (it doesn't change). I'm thinking of using /etc/network/interfaces. So, I added some code and it looks like this: auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth1 iface eth1 inet static address #corresponding value netmask #corresponding value gateway #corresponding value hwaddress #corresponding value After restarting networking I get the following message: *Reconfiguring network interfaces... #here some help code appears Failed to bring up eth1. The default interface that works with NM is eth0. Please advise on how to handle the problem.

  In the past I've been using putty to ssh into my schools fedora computers to do HW, but now I recently put fedora on my computer, and I want make it so that I can ssh to my fedora computer from my school too. I looked through a tutorial, and was able to -make the private key and public key -make a passphrase -move to public key to my school's system -chmod 700 the public key now when I try to ssh into my own computer from school it gives me an error that says I cannot resolve my hostname and name or service unknown I don't know what to do from here, the tutorial was no help after this.

  Good day all! I hope you are doing good. I have performed a WUBI installation of 12.04 on my HP G62 laptop, which has an Atheros AR9285 wireless chipset. Everything works fine with my wired network connection. However, wireless is unable to connect to my wifi network. I enter the WPA2 key and then it attemps to connect, but eventually comes back, asking for the WPA2 key again, as if it was not good. All of the other laptops in the household are able to connect, using the same key (I configured them all, so I am 500% sure of the WPA2 key). Any idea as to what could be causing this? I can definitely post the output of CLI commands like "rfkill list" or "sudo lshw -class network", or "ifconfig". I have installed Ubuntu a few time but I am definitely still a newbie, but I am definitely computer savyy. Looking forward to suggestions . Thanks in advance !!! Dan...

The SELECT's will be done much more frequently than the INSERT. However, occasionally I want to add a few hundred records at a time. Load-wise, there will be nothing for hours then maybe a few thousand queries all at once. Don't think I can normalize any more (need the p values in a combination) The database as a whole is very relational. This will be the largest table by far (next largest is about 900k) UPDATE (08/11/2010) Interestingly, I've been given a second option... Instead of 192 trillion I could store 2.6*10^16 (15 zeros, meaning 26 Quadrillion)... But in this second option I would only need to store one bigint(18) as the index in a table. That's it - just the one column. So I would just be checking for the existence of a value. Occasionally adding records, never deleting them. So that makes me think there must be a better solution then mysql for simply storing numbers... Given this second option, should I take it or stick with the first...   I pass a ViewModel (which contains a "Person" object) from the "EditPerson" controller action into the view. When posted back from the view, the ActionResult receives all of the Person properties except the ID (which it says is zero instead of say its real integer) Can anyone tell me why?   I want to subscribe report on specific schedule in reporting services 2008. i.e report will dilever to user automatically on schedule. I am using visual studio 2008. I have done the configuration setting (rsreportserver.config, app.config after adding refrences of asmx files) by refrence msdn. The code is running fine (no exception occur) and I also get subscription id through calling create subscription indicate all going fine. But after running the code no entry made in Subscription table of ReportServer database. And also not get any mail. While through report server web tool, I can get email and also entery made in database but not from coe. Please someone help me. What I am missing. • In WPF, Selecting ItemContainerStyle based on data bound content

  In #WPF you have ItemTemplateSelectors. But, can you also select an ItemContainerStyle based on the datatype of a bound object? I am databinding a scatterview. I want to set some properties of the generated ScatterViewItems based on the object in their DataContext. A mechanism similar to ItemTemplateSelector for styles would be great. Is that at all possible? I am now binding to properties in the objects that I am displaying to get the effect, but that feels like overhead and too complex (and most importantly, something that our XU designers can't do by themselves). • DataGridView CheckBox events

  I'm making a DataGridView with a series of Checkboxes in it with the same labels horizontally and vertically. Any labels that are the same, the checkboxes will be inactive, and I only want one of the two "checks" for each combination to be valid. The following screenshot shows what I have: Anything that's checked on the lower half, I want UN-checked on the upper. So if [quux, spam] (or [7, 8] for zero-based co-ordinates) is checked, I want [spam, quux] ([8, 7]) un-checked. Basically, how do I get the "right" address with the right boolean value so that my flipping algorithm will work?

• Blackjack game reshuffling problem

  I am trying to make a blackjack game where before each new round, the program checks to make sure that the deck has 7 cards per player. And if it doesn't, the deck clears, repopulates, and reshuffles. I have most of the problem down, but for some reason at the start of every deal it reshuffles the deck more than once, and I can't figure out why. Help, please. • XmlException - inserting attribute gives "unexpected token" exception

  Hi, I have an XmlDocument object in C# that I transform, using XslTransform, to html. In the stylesheet I insert an id attribute in a span tag, taking the id from an element in the XmlDocument. Here is the template for the element: <xsl:template match="word"> <span> <xsl:attribute name="id"><xsl:value-of select="@id"></xsl:value-of></xsl:attribute> <xsl:apply-templates/> </span> </xsl:template> But then I want to process the result document as an xhtml document (using the XmlDocument dom). So I'm taking a selected element in the html, creating a range out of it, and try to load the element using XmlLoad(): wordElem.LoadXml(range.htmlText); But this gives me the following exception: "'598' is an unexpected token. The expected token is '"' or '''. Line 1, position 10." And if I move the cursor over the range.htmlText, I see the tags for the element, and the "id" shows without quotes, which confuses me (i.e.SPAN id=598 instead of SPAN id="598"). To confuse the matter further, if I insert a blank space or something like that in the value of the id in the stylesheet, it works fine, i.e.: <span> <xsl:attribute name="id"><xsl:text> </xsl:text> <xsl:value-of select="@id"></xsl:value-of></xsl:attribute> <xsl:apply-templates/> </span> (Notice the whitespace in the xsl:text element). Now if I move the cursor over the range.htmlText, I see an id with quotes as usual in attributes (and as it shows if I open the html file in notepad or something). What is going on here? Why can't I insert an attribute this way and have a result that is acceptable as xhtml for XmlDocument to read? I feel I am missing something fundamental, but all this surprises me, since I do this sort of transformations using xsl:attribute to insert attributes all the time for other types of xsl transformations. Why doesn't XmlDocument accept this value? By the way, it doesn't matter if it is an id attribute. i have tried with the "class" attribute, "style" etc, and also using literal values such as "style" and setting the value to "color:red" and so on. The compiler always complains it is an unvalid token, and does not include quotes for the value unless there is a whitespace or something else in there (linebreaks etc.). I hope I have provided enough information. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Basically, what I want to accomplish is set an id in a span element in html, select a word in a webbrowser control with this document loaded, and get the id attribute out of the selected element. I've accomplished everything, and can actually do what I want, but only if I use regex e.g. to get the attribute value, and I want to be able to use XmlDocument instead to simply get the value out of the attribute directly.   in my first ExtJs4 project i use a editable grid with the feature rowbody to have a big textfield displayed under each row. I want it to be editable on a dblclick. I succeeded in doing so by replacing the innerHTML of the rowbody by a textarea but the special keys don't do what they are supposed to do (move the cursor). If a use the textarea in a normal field i don't have this probem.
