  • Temporary intermediate table

    In our project to generate massive reports in oracle we use some permanent table to hold intermediate results. For example to generate one report we run few queries and populate the table, at the final step we join the intermediate table with huge application tables. These intermediate tables are cleared for next report run. We have few concerns in performance areas. These intermediate tables are transactional and don't have statistics. Is it good idea to join these with application tables which are partitioned and have up to date statistics. We need these results stored in the intermediate tables to be available across requests from UI hence we are not in a position to use oracle provided temporary tables. Any thoughts on what could be done would be appreciated.

    If I run this query : SELECT DISTINCT U.REFERENCED_NAME, U.REFERENCED_TYPE FROM USER_DEPENDENCIES U where U.name IN('P_CREATE_T') It will give me : U.REFERENCED_NAME | U.REFERENCED_TYPE random_name_table | table If I drop this table random_name_table : drop table random_name_table and I run the dependecie query It will give me this: U.REFERENCED_NAME | U.REFERENCED_TYPE BIN$6WfJh8MWWGngQ3ATqMDOpQ==$0 | table I know the result is related to recycle bin, But what I am asking is there a way that shows the table even if its droped ? I mean shouldnt the depency query read from the procedure and not from the database ? If not is there a query that reads from the procedure and not from database ? Edit ok I will make it clear : my question USER_DEPENDENCIES read from the procedure or the database ? My second question does the recycle bin always shows ? I mean is there times where the result of the recylebin disapear ?

  • Integrating Hudson with MS Test?

    Is it possible to integrate Hudson with MS Test? I am setting up a smaller CI server on my development machine with Hudson right now, just so that I can have some statistics (ie. FxCop and compiler warnings). Of course, it would also be nice if it could just run my unit tests and present their output. Up to now, I have added the following batch task to Hudson, which makes it run the tests properly. "%PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\MSTest.exe" /runconfig:LocalTestRun.testrunconfig /testcontainer:Tests\bin\Debug\Tests.dll However, as far as I know, Hudson does not support analysis of MS Test results, yet. Does anyone know whether the TRX files generated by MSTest.exe can be transformed to the JUnit or NUnit result format (because those are supported by Hudson), or whether there is any other way to integrate MS Test unit tests with Hudson?

  • How to thoroughly clean up a ruby on rails project?

    Hi, I am very new to ruby on rails. I've installed a complicated ruby on rails project via github clone and bundle install, and I was making minor changes to it until it reaches a point whereby it is not stable anymore, sass was throwing strange exceptions, so did other ruby gems. For a rails project, is there a way to clean up the project (aka, remove any "compiled or cached code") and just run again. My alternative now is to go thru github clone and bundle install again, but that means all of my modified changes have to be reapplied again. What is rails equivalent of "make clean" in Java? Is "rake clean" the answer? Do we need to run any bundle commands?

  • Why does Spring Security Core RC4 require Grails 2.3?

    On the Spring Security Core plugin GitHub repo, I see that Graeme on May 21st upped the required version of Grails from 2.0 to 2.3 before the RC4 version was released a couple of months later, but I don't see any explanation for why. Was it mismatched dependencies, bug reports, etc? I run a 2.2.4 app, and I would prefer not to upgrade at this point just to get the latest RC of spring security core. I understand if the upgrade to 3.2.0.RELEASE of spring security caused mismatched dependencies with older versions of Grails since I've run into the same issues before. This originally came up due to a pull request on the spring security OAuth2 provider plugin that I maintain. The pull request upped the required version to 2.3, and the requester pointed me to the RC4 release of core as the reason. Thanks for the good works as always!

    Im new to python, but I was thinking about making a program with python to give to my friends. They don't know much about computers so if I asked them to install python by them selves they couldn't do it, but what if I could make an installer that downloads some version of python that only has what is needed for my file to run and make an exe file that would run the .py file in its own python interpreter . I also did a Google search and saw the freezing applications I could use to make the code into exe files to distribute (cx_freeze I use python 3.2), but not all of my friends have Windows computers and I rather Have my program so in each new version it auto updates by making a patch to .py file and not completely re-installing it .

  • How can I include utility functions from another file into a Sproutcore unit test file?

    Lets say I have a few utility functions in file tests/utils/functions.js. I would like to use these functions from several unit test files. However, I'm not able to use them as the Sproutcore build system does not include any external files into the html page used to run the unit tests. Only application code and the code from the unit tests to be run are included. So is it possible to somehow include Javascript files to be used in unit test files in Sproutcore? I could add the functions.js file into some other directory inside my application to be able to use them. However, this is not what I want to do as the utility functions are useless in final production build and would only make my application larger.

  • How do I change the JAVA_HOME for ant?

    I'm doing java work on a class server where I don't have root. Whenever I try to compile using ant, it points to the wrong directory (/usr/tomcat instead of /usr/tomcat/jre ). One of the things we were told to do when setting up our user accounts was to add export JAVA_HOME=/usr/tomcat/jre to the .bashrc file. I don't know if that was supposed to take care of the problem but it doesn't seem to. So, how can I change the JAVA_HOME property for ant but only for when I run ant? EDIT: echo $JAVA_HOME points to /usr/tomcat/jre echo $JAVA_HOME\bin points to /usr/tomcat/jrebin The problem is when I normally run ant I get this error: Unable to locate tools.jar. Expected to find it in /usr/tomcat/lib/tools.jar Buildfile: build.xml compile: [javac] Compiling 1 source file to /home/ejm244/build/classes BUILD FAILED /home/ejm244/build.xml:9: Unable to find a javac compiler; com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath.     I'm trying to invoke Python using the "-c" argument to allow me to run some arbitrary python code easily, like this: python.exe -c "for idx in range(10): print idx" Now this code works fine, from within my batch file, however, I'm running into problems when I want to do anything more than this. Consider the following Python code: foo = 'bar' for idx in range(10): print idx this would then give you 0-9 on the stdout. However, if I collapse this into a single line, using semicolons as delimiters, to get the following: foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx and try to run it using python.exe -c it get a SyntaxError raised: C:\Python>python.exe -c "foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx" File "<string>", line 1 foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax Anyone know how I can actually use this without switching to a separate .py file?

    Hello, I'm writing an application that runs "things" to a schedule. Idea being that the database contains assembly, method information and also the parameter values. The timer will come along, reflect the method to be run, add the parameters and then execute the method. Everything is fine except for the parameters. So, lets say the method accepts an ENUM of CustomerType where CustomerType has two values of CustomerType.Master and CustomerType.Associate. EDIT I don't the type of parameter that will be getting passed in. ENUM used as an example END OF EDIT We want to run Method "X" and pass in parameter "CustomerType.Master". In the database, there will be a varchar entry of "CustomerType.Master". How do I convert the string "CustomerType.Master" into a type of CustomerType with a value of "Master" generically?     Lets say I have a loop in bash: for foo in `some-command` do do-something $foo done do-something is cpu bound and I have a nice shiny 4 core processor. I'd like to be able to run up to 4 do-something's at once. The naive approach seems to be: for foo in `some-command` do do-something $foo & done This will run all do-somethings at once, but there are a couple downsides, mainly that do-something may also have some significant I/O which performing all at once might slow down a bit. The other problem is that this code block returns immediately, so no way to do other work when all the do-somethings are finished. How would you write this loop so there are always X do-somethings running at once?

  • How to install the program depending on libstdc++ library

    My program is written in C++, using GCC on Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. If depends on /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 which actually points to /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6.0.13. Now I copy this program to virgin Ubuntu 7.04 system and try to run it. It doesn't run, as expected. Then I add to the program directory the following files: libstdc++.so.6.0.13 libstdc++.so.6 (links to libstdc++.so.6.0.13) and execute command: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./myprogram Now everything is OK. The question: how can I write installation script for such program? myprogram file itself should be placed to /usr/local/bin. What can I do with dependencies? For example, on destination computer, /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 link points to /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6.0.8. What can I do with this? Note: the program is closed-source, I cannot provide source code and makefile.

  • ASP.Net MVC Web App not running

    Hi, I developed an ASP.Net MVC v1 web application and it ran fine on our server. The client wanted to move to another server, and the site does not run on the new host's server. The new server specs: Windows 2008 ASP.Net Framework v4 ASP.Net MVC 2 (afaik its included with .Net v4) IIS 7.5 (afaik) Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. My understanding is that it should be backwards compatible. Is the app really trying to run in ASP.Net MVC v1 when v2 is available? I have already tried deploying the MVC .dlls to the Bin folder, but it did not work. I also tried changing all the system.Web.Mvc Version values (in the web.config for the web app) from 1.0.0.0 to 2.0.0.0, which also did not work. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

  • Windows service Null ReferenceException

    I built a windows service on my local machine. when I install and run it locally it works perfectly fine. When I try to move it to my production machine I get a null reference exception error. I've created an installation package that also works perfectly fine on my machine, but when i run it on the production machine the service still fails. The service references a .dll that in turn has references to 3 other dlls. when i build the project it pulls all of the dlls into the debug folder for the project... I've even installed the service from that folder and it works localy on my machine. I know this has to have something to do with the references, but this is beyond me. Any tips/hints would be appreciated.
