• CREATE VIEW called multiple times not creating all views

  Noticing strange behavior in SQL 2005, both Express and Enterprise Edition: In my code I need to loop through a series of values (about five in a row), and for each value, I need to insert the value into a table and dynamically create a new view using that value as part of the where clause and the name of the view. The code runs pretty quickly, but what I'm noticing is that all the values are inserted into the table correctly but only the LAST view is being created. Every time. For example, if the values I'm using are X1, X2, X3, X4, and X5, I'll run the process, open up Mgmt Studio, and see five rows in the table with the correct five values, but only one view named MyView_x5 that has the correct WHERE clause. At first, I had this loop in an SSIS package as part of a larger data flow. When I started noticing this behavior, I created a stored proc that would create the CREATE VIEW statement dynamically after the insert and called EXECUTE to create the view. Same result. Finally, I created some C# code using the Enterprise Library DAAB, and did the insert and CREATE VIEW statements from my DLL. Same result every time. Most recently, I turned on Profiler while running against the Enterprise Edition and was able to verify that the Batch Started and Batch Completed events were being fired off for each instance of the view. However, like I said, only the last view is actually being created. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? Or any suggestions about what else to check or profile? I've profiled for error messages, exceptions, etc. but don't see any in my trace file. My express edition is 9.00.1399.06. Not sure about the Enterprise edition but think it is SP2.

  I have 3 tables I need to join. The contracts table is the main table, the 'jobs' and 'companies' table are extra info that can be associated to the contracts table. so, since I want all entries from my 'contracts' table, and the 'jobs' and 'companies' data only if it exists, I wrote the query like this.... $sql = "SELECT * FROM contracts LEFT JOIN jobs ON contracts.job_id = jobs.id LEFT JOIN companies ON contracts.company_id = companies.id ORDER BY contracts.end_date"; Now how would I output this in PHP? • How to order search results by multiple fields?

  I am using Sunspot and Will_paginate for search in my application and don't how to have my search results start out with certain ordering conditions. The model I am searching is the UserPrice model and want my :price and :purchase_date in descending order or lowest price to highest and present date to past: class UserPrice < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :price, :product_name, :purchase_date belongs_to :product # Sunspot configuration searchable do text :product_name do product.name end end end class SearchController < ApplicationController def index @search = UserPrice.search do fulltext params[:search] paginate(:per_page => 5, :page => params[:page]) end @user_prices = @search.results end end Even though I don't know how, I'm not sure if I would use Sunspot or Will_paginate to sort by order of price and purchase date. How do I fix this?

  Hello, Im doing a project with C# winforms. This project is composed by: Client project: Windows Forms where user will do CRUD operations on the models; Server project; Common Project: This project will hold the models (in the image only have the model Item); ListSingleton: Remote Object that will do the operations on the models; I already have all the communication working, but now I need to work on the persistence of the data in a mysql database. I was trying to use nHibernate but I’m having some troubles. My main problem is how to organize my hibernate configuration. In which project do I keep the mapping? Common project? In which project do I keep the hibernate configuration file (App.config)? ListSingleton project? • NHibernate / multiple sessions and nested objects

  We are using NHibernate in a rich client application. It is a pretty open application (the user searches for a dataset or creates a new one, changes the data and saves the data set. We leave the session open, because sometimes we have to lazy load some properties of the object (nested object structure). This means one big problem if we leave the session open, the db (MySQL) closes the connection and we are not able to find this out and it throws an exception (socket communication error) when accessing the database (we are thinking about testing the db connection before accessing the object - but this is not really optimal neither, the other option would be to set back the timeout of the db connection , but this just doesn't seem to well). So - is it possible to reconnect the session to a new database connection ? Another problem is it possible to get an object from one session and then re-attach it to another session ? (I often hear that session.lock should work for this - but this doesn't work so well in our application - so I ended up getting a "fresh" object from the session and copy the data over manually - which is a little bit cumbersome) Any ideas for this ?

  I'm new to C++, coming from a Java and web programming background. I specified a header file, with class definition. The class and the namespace have the same name. I do not know if that causes this issue, eclipse is very unspecific. • Visual C++ 9 Linker file size limitation.

  It appears that the visual C++ 9 linker has a file allocation algorithm that doubles the size of the file every allocation, so you get 512mb, 1024mb, 2048mb, 4096mb. The problem is that it is using a library that cannot handle files larger 2048MB, and as such crashes with an error such as "cannot read file at is the disk full or write protected". Is there a way to bypass this limitation or otherwise replace the linker with something else that works? A bit of background, I have a code generator that generates a large number of files, ~15k cpp files, I've managed to reduce the number of files to something about 6k to get something that at least completes the linking process, I would like to be able to include all 15k without having to create multiple libs.

  I've looked in various resources regarding this topic, and it seems to me that I need a Loader for every Sprite which contains an image file (png). I'm trying to make a Tile Rendering System, and have created a grid of X by Y sprites, but all of them actually reference the same image file. Is there any other way to do this?   I am using excel 2010. I am trying to create pivot table between two worksheets 'Summary' and 'Summary2'. I have identical row of data ranging from cells B5 to F5 in row 5 in both worksheets. Data in the two worksheets looks like this: Summary worksheet: Issues,20,3,4,5 Summary2 worksheet: Issues,10,0,3,9 Worksheet referes to issues from location 1 and worksheet referes to issues from location 2. Col B has title 'issues', Col C refers to issues of customer 1, Col D refers to issues of customer 2, Col E refers to issues of customer 3, Col F refers to issues of customer 4 I go to a third worksheet and start pivot table and in the table range I give this: 'Summary:Summary2'!$B$5:$F$5. Then I Say OK. Gives error "data reference source is not valid". Can someone tell me how to select the row from two different worksheet in pivot table? Also I want to be able to add issues of customers between two locations and get % completion for each locaiton. Can someone please help?

Why does it not advance to the next row? if I move the code: $this->listing = $result->fetch_array() or die('could not create object'); foreach ($this->listing as $key => $value) : $info[$key] = stripslashes(html_entity_decode($value)); endforeach; if I move this outside the class, it works exactly as expected outputting a row at a time while looping through the while statement. Is there a way to write this so that I can keep the fetch_array() call in the class and still loop through the records?

I think that the only changes that have been made on the installation in which the report now does not work since the report was last successfully run are the additions of a few custom fields in the Contacts module. These changes should have nothing to do with ZuckerReports. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the ZuckerReports module, but the problem remains. A google search for the warnings given in the error message ie. * log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (net.sf.jasperreports.extensions.ExtensionsEnviron ment). * log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly. Returns a few links (not specific to ZuckerReports) with tips similar to the following: * log4j.properties or log4j.xml needs to be on the classpath where log4j can find it. I cannot find a file with either of those names anywhere on my server, and yet the report can be run successfully on one of my SugarCRM installations. So I figure log4j must be being configured another way. Can anyone suggest a way to solve this problem? Or explain how I might discover how log4j is configured in ZuckerReports? Or explain how I might compare the working with the non-working installation in order to help find a solution? (I have tried searching for files containing "log4j" in both installations and comparing but all I can find are .jar files (nothing I can read with a text editor), and the .jar files found in each installation appear to be the same.)

  I am attempting to write an XML Schema to cover a number of XML conditions which I may encounter. I have the same root element (serviceRequest) with different child elements. I was trying to use the xs:extension element to define multiple versions, but it is complaining about unexpected element orderInclusionCriteria etc. Am I going about this the right way, or is there a better way to define this? The other way I thought about this was to have a single xs:choice with all the options inside it, but this seemed somewhat inelegant. These XSD files are for use within XMLBeans if that makes any difference. • Select Multiple Images Using GalleryView

  Hi guys, I was just wondering if Android had built in code so that I could select multiple images in a gallery-view and then have those images exported as filenames in a string array(ex /sdcard/~f1.jpg, /sdcard/~f2.jpg,...). I have the gallery code here, but I'm not sure what modifications need to be made. Any help is appreciated. • Difference between SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 for inserting multiple rows with XML

  I am using the following SQL code for inserting multiple rows of data in a table. The data is passed to the stored procedure using an XML variable : INSERT INTO MyTable SELECT SampleTime = T.Item.value('SampleTime[1]', 'datetime'), Volume1 = T.Item.value('Volume1[1]', 'float'), Volume2 = T.Item.value('Volume2[1]', 'float') FROM @xml.nodes('//Root/MyRecord') T(item) I have a whole bunch of unit tests to verify that I am inserting the right information, the right number of records, etc.. when I call the stored procedure. All fine and dandy - that is, until we began to monkey around with the compatibility level of the database. The code above worked beautifully as long as we kept the compatibility level of the DB at 90 (SQL 2005). When we set the compatibility level at 100 (SQL 2008), the unit tests failed, because the stored procedure using the code above times out. The unit tests are dropping the database, re-creating it from scripts, and running the tests on the brand new DB, so it's not - I think - a question of the 'old compatibility level' sticking around. Using the SQL Management studio, I made up a quick test SQL script. Using the same XML chunk, I alter the DB compat level , truncate the table, then use the code above to insert 650 rows. When the level is 90 (SQL 2005), it runs in milliseconds. When the level is 100 (SQL 2008) it sometimes takes over a minute, sometimes runs in milliseconds. I'd appreciate any insight anyone might have into that. EDIT The script takes over a minute to run with my actual data, which has more rows than I show here, is a real table, and has an index. When I change from 90 to 100, it runs all the time in 5 seconds (I change the level once, but I run the series several times to see if I have consistent results). When I change from 100 to 90, it runs in milliseconds all the time. Just so you can play with it too. I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 standard edition.

• SQL Server 2008: Using Multiple dts Ranges to Build a Set of Dates

  I'm trying to build a query for a medical database that counts the number of patients that were on at least one medication from a class of medications (the medications listed below in the FAST_MEDS CTE) and had either: 1) A diagnosis of myopathy (the list of diagnoses in the FAST_DX CTE) 2) A CPK lab value above 1000 (the lab value in the FAST_LABS CTE) and this diagnosis or lab happened AFTER a patient was on a statin. The query I've included below does that under the assumption that once a patient is on a statin, they're on a statin forever. The first CTE collects the ids of patients that were on a statin along with the first date of their diagnosis, the second those with a diagnosis, and the third those with a high lab value. After this I count those that match the above criteria. What I would like to do is drop the assumption that once a patient is on a statin, they're on it for life. The table edw_dm.patient_medications has a column called start_dts and end_dts. This table has one row for each prescription written, with start_dts and end_dts denoting the start and end date of the prescription. End_dts could be null, which I'll take to assume that the patient is currently on this medication (it could be a missing record, but I can't do anything about this). If a patient is on two different statins, the start and ends dates can overlap, and there may be multiple records of the same medication for a patient, as in a record showing 3-11-2000 to 4-5-2003 and another for the same patient showing 5-6-2007 to 7-8-2009. I would like to use these two columns to build a query where I'm only counting the patients that had a lab value or diagnosis done during a time when they were already on a statin, or in the first n (say 3) months after they stopped taking a statin. I'm really not sure how to go about rewriting the first CTE to get this information and how to do the comparison after the CTEs are built. I know this is a vague question, but I'm really stumped. • using getScript to import plugin on page using multiple versions of jQuery

  I am developing an app on a page that uses jQuery 1.2.6, but I would like to use jQuery 1.4.2 for my app. I really don't like to use multiple versions of jQuery like this but the copy on the page (1.2.6) is something I have no control over. For a while, everything worked fine. However, I decided to want to use a jQuery plugin in a separate file. I tested it and it acted funny. After some experimentation, I found out that the plugin was using the old version of jQuery, when I wanted it to use the new version. Does anyone know how to import and run a js file from the context within the function wrapping the code in myStuff.js? In case this matters to anyone, here is how I know the plugin is using the old version, and what I did to try to solve the problem: I made a file called test.js, consisting of this line: alert($.fn.jquery); I tried referencing the file in a script tag the way external Javascript is usually included, below myStuff.js, and it came up as 1.2.6, like I expected. I then got rid of that script tag and put this line in myStuff.js: $.getScript("test.js"); and it still came back as 1.2.6. That wasn't a big surprise -- according to jQuery's documentation, scripts included that way are executed in the global context. I then tried doing this instead: var testFn = $.proxy($.getScript, this); testFn("test.js"); and it still came back as 1.2.6. After some tinkering, I found out that the "this" keyword referred to the window, which I assume means the global context. I am looking for something to put in place of "this" to refer to the context of the enclosing function, or some other way to make the code in the file run from the enclosing function. I noticed that if I copy and paste the code, it works fine, but it is a big plugin that is used in many places, and I would prefer not to clutter up my file with their code. I am out of ideas. Does anyone else know how to do this?
