  • Directory.GetFiles returning entire path, I only want the filename?

    This is the code I have set up to scan a directory of files: Dim fileArray() As String fileArray = Directory.GetFiles(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory & "help\") And it successfully gets all files in the directory, but it gets their absolute paths aswell. For example, one of the entries in fileArray() is: F:\Project\Project\bin\x86\Debug\help\book_troubleshoot.html And I want it to just be: book_troubleshoot.html Is there a way to do this without parsing through all the array entries to trim off the path? Thanks.

  • using AsyncTask class for parallel operationand displaying a progress bar

    I am displaying a progress bar using Async task class and simulatneously in parallel operation , i want to retrieve a string array from a function of another class that takes some time to return the string array. The problem is that when i place the function call in doing backgroung function of AsyncTask class , it gives an error in Doing Background and gives the message as cant change the UI in doing Background .. Therefore , i placed the function call in post Execute method of Asynctask class . It doesnot give an error but after the progress bar has reached 100% , then the screen goes black and takes some time to start the new activity.   • javascript: how to delay submitting data when several checkboxes clicked in short time interval?

    I have an array of checkboxes in a complex dynamic-html form. Whenever a user clicks one checkbox, a fairly expensive query is generated and submitted to a remote server. I want to delay this submit action depending on the users next action. If the user clicks several checkboxes quickly, all of the first clicks should be discarded, only the last one is processed and eventually submitted after 1 second or so. maybe this is a common problem but I have never worked with timeouts before.

    I'm trying to figure out the technicalities of scheduling in Linux. What I can't figure out is what happens with those entries in the run_queue where there are no running processes. In the run_queue we have a bitmap, a counter, and the array of lists themselves. For a list that is empty because there are no running tasks with its priority, what do the next and prev pointers point to?

    How can I obtain an array with uid and names? I could iterate from 0 to 99999 and do a getpwnam(). However most machines have less than 5 accounts, so it's not optimal. I don't know what framework is responsible for this and thus I have no clue what to search for. Is there a more optimal solution that can traverse the accounts?
