• SNMP Traps: Telling the difference between sources

  I am logging all incoming SNMP traps to file, for further processing, via: snmptrapd -Lf /path/to/my/file.log So this will log all traps coming in on port 162. Is there a way I can tell the differences between different sources, i.e vendors. I believe this would be the "OID" field but i'm unsure. Any thoughts would be welcomed, if not I will just have to use a lookup with IP addresses, but I'm sure I saw that there is a unique part to each vendor. Cheers

• Wordpress database query running slow - one of the columns doesn't exist!

  Hi there. I'm having some problems with the query that wordpress runs. That's the one: SELECT DISTINCT ID,post_title,post_date,post_content,MATCH(post_title,post_content) AGAINST ('S') AS score FROM wp_posts WHERE MATCH (post_title,post_content) AGAINST ('S') AND post_date <= 'S' AND post_status = 'S' AND id != N AND post_type = 'S' ORDER BY score DESC When I'm running this query in phpmyadmin it says that N column doesn't exist so clause "AND id != N" si not making any sense. I ran the query again without this clause and db behaved like fully optimized one. Please can someone give me a hint on that? My questions are: What this clause is used for? What wordpress is trying to find by running this and Can I modify core wordpress files to get rid of this clause? Any response or help greatly appreciated!!

  I'm trying to add user submitted articles to my website, (only for admins). With each article comes an option to upload up to 3 images. My database is set up like this Articles id user_id title body date_added last_edited Photos id (auto_increment) article_id First I save the article in the database, then I upload the photo (temporarily) then I create a new photo record in the database saving the article_id. Then I rename the uploaded photo to be the same as the primary key of the photo record, and to be a png. $filename = $photo->id . '.png'; I figured this would be a good way to prevent files form being overwritten. This seems flawed to me. Any suggestions on how I should save my records and photos? Thanks

  I am trying to get some Javascript working in my Rails app. I want to have my index page allow me to edit individual items on the index page, and then reload the index page upon edit.   Say I've got two tables. One contains a list of items, and one contains pictures of the items. Something like this: Items +----+---------+ | id | name | +----+---------+ | 1 | oranges | | 2 | apples | +----+---------+ Pictures +----+---------+ | id | item_id | +----+---------+ | 1 | 1 | | 2 | 2 | | 3 | 2 | +----+---------+ My question is this: is it possible in a single query to select item 2 from Items and join all the rows in the Pictures table whose item_id references that same id? I am sure I've tried almost everything I can think of, but nothing is coming to mind. I apologize if the answer to this is simple, but It's just escaping me right now.

What i have is $query = sprintf("SELECT COUNT(id) FROM table WHERE UPPER(username) = UPPER('%s') AND password='%s'"... in this case, i'm only selecting and count if the id exist and i use list($count) = mysql_fetch_row($result); if($count == 1) and by using cookies, i would like to retrieve two value from the database, namely user (the user's name) and power (which has value of 1,2 or 3, indicating the menu they would be able to see) basically it is to differentiate if you're admin or normal user, but i wonder if i could do SELECT COUNT(id) AND power FROM table WHERE ... is this possible? or is there any other way? Please guide me, thanks.

  Am hoping someone can help me out a bit with date ranges... I have a table with 3 fields id, datestart, dateend I need to query this to find out if a pair of dates from a form are conflicting i.e table entry 1, 2010-12-01, 2010-12-09 from the form 2010-12-08, 20-12-15 select id from date_table where '2010-12-02' between datestart and dateend; That returns me the id that I want, but what I would like to do is to take the date range from the form and do a query similar to what I have got that will take both form dates 2010-12-08, 20-12-15 and query the db to ensure that there is no conflicting date ranges in the table. Am sat scratching my head with the problem... TIA

• Scalable way of doing self join with many to many table

  I have a table structure like the following: user id name profile_stat id name profile_stat_value id name user_profile user_id profile_stat_id profile_stat_value_id My question is: How do I evaluate a query where I want to find all users with profile_stat_id and profile_stat_value_id for many stats? I've tried doing an inner self join, but that quickly gets crazy when searching for many stats. I've also tried doing a count on the actual user_profile table, and that's much better, but still slow. Is there some magic I'm missing? I have about 10 million rows in the user_profile table and want the query to take no longer than a few seconds. Is that possible?

  Hello, If i insert multiple records with a loop that executes a single record insert, the last insert id returned is, as expected, the last one... but if i do a multiple records insert statement: INSERT INTO people (name,age) VALUES('William',25),('Bart',15),('Mary',12); let's say the three above are the first records inserted in the table...after the insert statement i expected last insert id to return 3, but it returned 1...the first insert id for the statement in question... So can someone please confirm if this is the normal behavior of LAST_INSERT_ID() in the context of multiple records INSERT statements...so i can base my code on it thanks :)

Check out the problem: - Go to http://dev.imagineelection.com/browse/zip/10011 - Click on one of the warning icons (scroll down to see one). See how the colorbox that pops up is empty? I've tried to isolate the problem: - If you click "View Source" -- the div id="address-alert" is in there - If you click "View Generated Source" (for example, with Firefox Web Developer plugin) -- the div id="address-alert" has been taken out, but it has not been replaced inside the new div id="cboxCurrent" that colorbox has put at the top of the page The jQuery call I'm doing is: if (jQuery().colorbox) { $(".warning-class").colorbox({width:"50%", inline:true, href:"#address-alert"}); } What is going on? • Why is my form triggering the wrong controller action?
