• Druapl & Regular PHP Integration

  I'm building a new website which has one core application and many content pages. Content pages are mostly dynamic and I require a way to manage this dynamic content on a regular basis. The core application's main functionality is a 3 step process or reading user data (input page), reading data from MySQL (product page) and submitting an application to an email address (application page). Ideally I would like to build the core application in regular PHP and leverage Drupal for its content management capabilities. Can Drupal and regular PHP be integrated as I suggest easily? My feeling is that coding the core application as a Drupal module(s) will add layers of complexity that could be difficult to code from the outset and maintain later on as the system matures - so I would really like to just use regular PHP. Let me explain where dynamic content (managed by the CMS) intersects with the core application: Dynamic content such as FAQ data is used both on the 'normal' help pages and also within a mini-feed displayed within core application pages down a right hand side column. In this column, 3 random questions are pulled from the database and displayed as a feed. When users click on FAQ question they are not taken away from the core application product page but are instead shown data in a pop-up window displaying the question and answer. In addition, users can browse other questions and answers through a simple navigation menu within this popup. There are 3 such like feeds as I describe above that I require on the core application product page. So, what is the ideal solution here in terms of 'keeping things simple' for both the management of dynamic content and the ease of coding the core application? Can 'regular PHP' and Drupal co-exist 'peacefully'? If so, how is this technically possible? Because there is some content managed by Drupal contained within core application pages, can the core application still be coded in regular PHP? Any advice / suggestions? Thank you! Jim.

User can select any style to change the look of the page i.e: Changing the background and style of the radiobutton. Now When I click on the raduio button the application navigates to another page and the style disappears. Is there a way to Set the style in application level or I need to store the styleVar as Global Var and check on the second page load and then apply the styles as per the styleVar.

  I want to add some tabs in the "node/%/edit" page from my module called "cssswitch". When I click "Rebuild Menus", the two new tabs are displayed, but they are displayed for ALL nodes when editing them, not just for the node "cssswitch". I want these new tabs to be displayed only when editing node of type "cssswitch". The other problem is when I clear all cache, the tabs completely dissapear from all edit pages. • iPhone app, navigationcontroller not functioning?

  I have 4 tabs in a tab bar. In one of the tabs i want to use a navigation, i.e. when i click an item from the list it should go to some details page about it. I have the list page where i have the navigation bar and the list of items. I can scroll them, but when I click any of them the selection animation happens, console logs the true row value, it even prints log instructions from constructor of the Details page but I can not see the Details page showing up. • TinyMCE refresh issue

  I'm using TinyMCE, witch is working fine for the most part... when the user saves the page redirects to a a php page that extracts the textfield data and processes it, i wont elaborate cause that's no t the issue... the issue is that when it redirects back to the page... the textfield is blank and i can click on it but not see anything, if i type it enters(but i can't see it), this also happens when i go to the address directly, the only way i can see it is to hit the refresh button... i tried a meta refresh to the page... i tried disabling cache... any ideas would be great... thanks in advance

Put a breakpoint at page_load and run If you click the button, the Page_load breakpoint is visited only for first click. I am trying to get some explanation rather than "Wellll....ahhh mmmm it is a postback!!" I am expecting that the breakpoint will not be visited at all, it is a cached page. thanks

  Hi all, I have recently started to use Kohana and I know inheritance is in infancy stages at the moment. The work around is using a $_has_one annotation on the child class model. In may case i have "page" as the parent of "article". I have something like, protected $_has_one = array('mypage'=>array('model'=>'page', 'foreign_key'=>'id')); In my controller, I have an action which queries the database. In this query I am trying to access fields form the parent of "article" which is the "page". $n->articles=ORM::factory('article')->where('expires','=',0) ->where('articledate','<',date('y-m-d')) ->where('expirydate','>',date('y-m-d')) ->where('mypage->status','=','PUBLISHED') ->order_by('articledate','desc') ->find_all(); The status column resides in the page table and my query is generating an error to the effect of "cannot find status", clearly because it belongs to the parent. Any ideas ?

• R plotting multiple histograms on single plot to .pdf as a part of R batch script

  I am writing R scripts which play just a small role in a chain of commands I am executing from a terminal. Basically, I do much of my data manipulation in a Python script and then pipe the output to my R script for plotting. So, from the terminal I execute commands which look something like $python whatever.py | R CMD BATCH do_some_plotting.R. This workflow has been working well for me so far, though I have now reached a point where I want to overlay multiple histograms on the same plot, inspired by this answer to another user's question on Stackoverflow. Inside my R script, my plotting code looks like this: pdf("my_output.pdf") plot(hist(d$original,breaks="FD",prob=TRUE), col=rgb(0,0,1,1/4),xlim=c(0,4000),main="original - This plot is in beta") plot(hist(d$minus_thirty_minutes,breaks="FD",prob=TRUE), col=rgb(1,0,0,1/4),add=T,xlim=c(0,4000),main="minus_thirty_minutes - This plot is in beta") Notably, I am using add=T, which is presumably meant to specify that the second plot should be overlaid on top of the first. When my script has finished, the result I am getting is not two histograms overlaid on top of each other, but rather a 3-page PDF whose 3 individual plots contain the titles: i) Histogram of d$original ii) original - This plot is in beta iii) Histogram of d$minus_thirty_minutes So there's two points here I'm looking to clarify. Firstly, even if the plots weren't overlaid, I would expect just a 2-page PDF, not a 3-page PDF. Can someone explain why I am getting a 3-page PDF? Secondly, is there a correction I can make here somewhere to get just the two histograms plotted, and both of them on the same plot (i.e. 1-page PDF)? The other Stackoverflow question/answer I linked to in the first paragraph did mention that alpha-blending isn't supported on all devices, and so I'm curious whether this has anything to do with it. Either way, it would be good to know if there is a R-based solution to my problem or whether I'm going to have to pipe my data into a different language/plotting engine.

  I have had a few issues with HtmlUnit returning nulls lately and am looking for guidance. each of my results for grabbing the first row of a website have returned null.   On the following website, www.josecvega.com, I have a navigation bar with years that link to sections on that same page. Unfortunately it is not working they way I hoped, when the user selects a year it moves to the section of the page, but puts that section on the top of the page. I have a fixed div on the top of the page that covers the sections and prevents it from properly displaying. What can I do for this to work? I have a PageController witch go see if the page exist in the DB and if it don't I return to a 404 view with the status code 404 (Response.StatusCode = 404;) How can I reproduce the same behavior live? Do I need to setup something on IIS? I'm on winserver 2008 using c# and MVC 1.0. Thanks for the help!

My problem is that the add_skill_link works fine if i use from the server side, i mean rendering from server side. And gets double escaped when using within the upper described way. I tried to remove the escape_javascript from the add_skill_link bit still not good. Any ideas?

• How do I link a Navigation Menu to an already existing Sitemap

  I am just beginning my journey into web development and I have a very basic question, but I am none the less stumped. I have setup a new ASP.NET Empty Web Application. In this application, I have created a few *.aspx pages and a sitemap called 'Web.sitemap'. I have placed a SiteMapPath control onto my Master page and, with no further configuration, this detected my Web.sitemap and displays the location of the page on any *.aspx page which derives from the master page. However, whenever I add a Navigation Menu, this doesn't happen. When I bring up the Menu Tasks dialogue box, I can't select this from the Choose Data Source dropdown, my only option is to choose <New data source...> which brings up the Data Source Configuration Wizard, and from this I can create a new Site Map, however I want to use the already existing one. How do I go about this? Thanks

All the values are correct for icontact and if I submit the form as usual, icontact responds that it added the email address. The success message loads in a new page from icontact's website. What I'd like to accomplish is that ajax would send the form and returns a success message within the current page, without sending the customer to a new page. • Click behaviour - Difference in IE and FF ?!

  Hey folks, i just came to the conclusion that a project i am currently working on might have a "logical" error in functionality. Currently I'am using server technology with PHP/MySQL and JQuery. Within the page there's a normal link reference with tag <a href="contentpage?page=xxx">next step</a> The pain point now seems to be the given jquery click event on the same element. The intension was to save the (current) content of the page (- form elements) via another php script using the php session command. For any reason, IE can handle the click event of Jquery right before executing the standard html command, that reloads the current page again with the new page parameter. By using FF the behaviour is different. I assume, that FF first execute the html command and afterwards execute the javascript code which handles the click event. Therefore the resultset here is wrong respectivly empty. My question now is whether you made the same experience and how you handled / wordarrounded this problem. I'd be thankful fur any of your tips or further feedback. Maybe you also have a solution on how to rethink about the current architecture. Regards, Oliver

  How can I get an iframe such that when it loads up, it loads up with the page inside scrolled down by a fixed amount (say 100px)? I have so far: <iframe src="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7459669.stm" scrolling="no" width=500px height=500px></iframe> but it loads up with the bbc.co.uk page inside at the top left when I actually want it to load up scrolled part way down (that is the page inside the iframe scrolled down, not the page containing the iframe). Anyone know how to do this?

I have pushed the first view controller and used present modal view controller. Now a need to go back to the home page from the category page control but the view did load and view will appear wont work.
