• LinkButton not working due to validation control field

  In my .aspx page which derives from a master page I have a contact form which uses some validation, such as the RequiredFieldValidator and RegularExpressValidator. At top of my page I have a link bar and whenver I am at contact.aspx I can't navigate to the other pages as if that I need to fill in the necessary data so that it satisfies the validator. How can I fix this?

• Running javascript in AJAX loaded DIV

  I have page loading, via AJAX a PHP page into a div. In turn, this loaded page has it's own javascript and AJAX loaded div. Reason is to allow user to select data alter data within loaded data. I'm trying to do this without the help of JSON or such to communicate between JS and PHP. I'm guessing the parent calling page has already loaded the javascript, and the AJAX loaded content can't access that? (I've tried running the JS into the AJAX loaded content as well) If so, is there anyway to access that?

• Error with global variable in php not extending to included php file

  I have an html file that calls has a php section in the header like so: $page = basename($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']); Now further down in the html file I have a included footer like so: <?php include("footer.php"); ?> In this script I am referencing the $page variable, but it doesn't find it. I tried echoing the variable and nothing happened. When I place the basename() code in the footer.php file though, it handled it fine. I'd like to be efficient with the coding, so how can I get the footer.php file to get that $page variable? Is there a better way to do this than including the $page variable twice?

• Are global comment systems a privacy concern?

  I more and more see these global login-once comment-everywhere systems on every page. I didn't do my homework of tinkering debugging and search before asking, so my question is as follows: You login on site A and leave a comment. Now you go on site B, which uses the same global comment system. At the bottom of the page a request form with your name and data appears for you to add a comment on B page. You don't leave any comment and browse away. Does the global-comment provider get information about the fact that you visited page B, even if you don't leave any comment ? I will dig into the code as soon as I have time, but in the meanwhile I would like to ask your insights on this regard.

• Response.Redirect causes System.Threading.ThreadAbortException

  When I use Response.Redirect(...) to redirect my form to a new page I get the error: A first chance exception of type 'System.Threading.ThreadAbortException' occurred in mscorlib.dll An exception of type 'System.Threading.ThreadAbortException' occurred in mscorlib.dll but was not handled in user code My understanding of this is that the error is being caused by the webserver aborting the remainder of the page the response.redirect was called on. I know I can add a second parameter to Response.Redirect that is called endResponse. If I set endResponse to True I still get the error but if I set it to False then I do not. I am pretty sure though that that means the webserver is running the rest of the page I redirected away from. Which would seem to be inefficient to say the least. Is there a better way to do this? Something other than Response.Redirect or is there a way to force the old page to stop loading where I will not get a ThreadAbortException?

We can't use captcha or other techniques like that because this is before we even ask for human input, basically we are logging page hits and we would like to only log page hits by humans. The problem being is because i have a static page that pretty much loads everything into "tabs" using jquery. So when the user navigates the page, it really never leaves that same page they started out on.   I'm following the Canvas app Example of Facebook, but it seems that I'm unable to login succesfully, thus I'm unable to use the example app because I'm always redirected to the main page. I think I set all the parameters correctly, except for the OAuth Migration that should be enabled. There is no such option in Facebook developer panel. This is a screen of the main page as it appears to me after the login: I have the same problem explained here: Canvas demo (runwithfriends) always redirects to main page under my own GAE with the exception that even the application on facebook GAE redirects me to the main page even if I successfully log in. Did anyone experienced a similar problem?

  Hi, at this page new customer, there is something that it doesn't like, my boss asked me to make a show function that shows the new customer registration when the user clicks on the "ny kunde" button. • Show data relationship in gridview with dropdownlist or similar?

  I have data coming from two tables with a foreign key relationship - one User table containing users of the web application, and one Page table containing details about pages visited by each user. I would like to be able to view these data in a gridview or the like on a page. It's easy enough to just show the User table data like so (I'm using the Entity Framework and LINQ): UserDBEntities context = new UserDBEntities(); GridView1.DataSource = from user in context.UserSet select new { user.Ip, user.Count, user.Description, user.Referer }; GridView1.DataBind(); But how can I show the Page details? I'm not bent on any particular way of showing it, but the only idea I've been able to come up with is to have a dropdown list for each user in a column. But I can't figure out how to get the page data into such a dropdown list. The tables are associated with the primary/foreign key UserID. Any ideas would be welcome (dropdownlist solution or other)!
