    Sir I am trying to setup a Rsyncmirror on my mount drive /mnt/Mirror/ubuntu_mirror .so I am trying the command rsync -a --bwlimit=128 rsync://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu /mnt/Mirror/ubuntu_mirror but it shows error rsync: getaddrinfo: archive.ubuntu.com 873: Name or service not known rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [Receiver=3.0.9] can anyone help me..     Hi, I've just begun to use the Terminal in Mac OS X and I've found the 'man' command very useful, although very often the explanations are too compact or complicated for me. I am looking for a very basic reference guide – like O'Reilly makes, for example. But in there I didn't find an entry for basic commands like ls or ln and a layman's explanation of all the flags and options. Could anybody recommend me something? Thansk a bunch in advance

I have found the split command quite useful, but I have a problem I can't seem to figure out of... how do I unsplit?? I can split split using ^A S and switch between them using ^A ^I, but can't figure out how to remove a split...

    i following the tutorial of the http://www.howtoforge.com/mirror-your-web-site-with-rsync-on-fedora-10 i have completely step by step following the instructions and setup the key, script my problem is when i use server1 to type the command , it still prompt me for password. then i look the /var/log/secure, i 've found the message Authentication tried for root with correct key but not from a permitted host (host=123132132312.static.ctinets.com, ip=20x.80.236.xxx). can anyone help?

    Hey I have four computers(with linux): two with mediawiki(mirror, both connected to one db) one with mysql one server(DHCP,DNS etc) I configured on my server load balancer and now hen I type in browser name.local for example I get one of my mediawiki servers. I press f5 really fast and then I see in top command both computers are being loaded but not much. I used tool ab (apache benchamrk) but if I run it always is connected to one server never alternately. I use this settings: ab -n 100 -c 10 http://name.local/

  • windows 7 start menu showing incorrect data

    Hi, I've tried to rebuild my search index but it does not seem to help. When i search for anything even command I either get an empty list or a list of short cuts with the names Programs Documents Files ... They all have the default white paper icon. If I click on them I get an error message that says Internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened. Any ideas? thanks

  • CentOS 5: Can't access webserver via http from host OS?

    My server is installed on a guest OS on vmware. It really bugs me because I can't access it from the host OS's browser even though there is no discrepancy between /etc/hosts, /etc/sysconfig/network, httpd.conf files. Issuing ifconfig command also returns the same IP. I have also enabled netwroking in the vmware settings. And I can ping the guest OS's IP from the host. Any insights pls???

    VLC can download MMS streaming video using the following command... C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC>vlc mms://blah.akamaistream.net/mystreaming.wmv :demux=dump :demuxdump-file=mystreaming.ps ... but it downloads the show at the regular reading speed. For shows that last longer than a few minutes, I was wondering if someone could recommend a good, preferable free, download for Windows to speed downloading?

  • GIT not functionnal on Mac OS X Lion?

    I am trying to use GIT to manage my computing projects. But all commands using GIT do not respond on my terminal. For example if I try git --version followed by entry keyboard typing, a blank line appear and wait until ever. If I type again the entry key on my keyboard the command line is again available but nothing appear. It's the same for all git function that I type. Do you have any solution or explanation for this ?

  • Bugzilla not sending emails, even to the test file?

    I have installed and setup Bugzilla3 for my domain. Everything is working properly except for the email functionality. The server uses Postfix, and that works for my PHP application, and command line. In Bugzilla, I have tried setting the mail_delivery_method to 'test', and nothing shows up in data/mailer.testfile, it is completely blank... I have no idea where to go from here, any ideas on what to try next?

  • explorer.exe opens slowly

    explorer.exe opens veeeery slow when I press [Win+R] key or type "explorer ." in command prompt etc. But it opens with normal speed when I just click on the shortcut to any folder. When I click on the URL in IM like ICQ, already openned browser (firefox) takes too long to process link too. I have this problem for some months and I'm very tired of this. OS: WinXP SP3.

    I have a mysql server running debian with 2GO of RAM. I would like to know the amount of memory used by each process. I thought ps -aux was the command and options for it. But I only see 90 MO used by several processes and free -m tells me that 1400 MO are used. Is there a way to have a better view with the processes and the memory used by them ?

    Im trying to locally install a program which is written in C++. I have downloaded the program and am attempting to use the "make" command to compile the program as the programs instructions dictate. However when I do I get this error: /usr/include/stdc-predef.h:30:26: fatal error: bits/predefs.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. Looking around on the internet some people seem to address this problem by sudo apt-get install libc6-dev-i386 I checked to see if this package was installed and it was not. When I try to install it I get E: Unable to locate package libc6-dev-i386 I have already run sudo apt get update Im sure this is a rookie question but any help is appreciated, I'm running 13.10 32-bit.

    I have an ubuntu 12.04 machine were apache2 is set up with SSL certificates. In the same machine there is a SVN server. It all worked great till the update to 12.04. Now I'm able to access the svn via a web-browser and also by using an eclipse plugin (subversive), but I'm not able to access the svn via command line.     I updated to Ubuntu 13.10 (from Ubuntu 13.04) last weekend, and now Apache is not being able to start. It was working perfectly well until the upgraded, and I haven't changed anything myself. When I ran a restart this is what I get apache2: Syntax error on line 260 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Could not open configuration file /etc/apache2/conf.d/: No such file or directory So, I created the directory, and then I get this: * Starting web server apache2 * * The apache2 configtest failed.
