• How can I remap my keys to act like the Macintosh keyboard (like hold alt l + l click = r click)?

  I want my keyboard layout to act like a Macintosh keyboard. It's hard to use my computer after years on a mac. I want to disable my right mouse click, and replace it with alt + right mouse click. The alt key will also act like ctrl. I want my left ctrl to be the HUD key. I still want my super key to be the same. Can someone please make a script, or point me in the direction of a program to do all this with ease. If you were to make a script/whatever, can you please make one what will reverse all keyboard changes in-case I feel that it is not the same. I will add to the post if I miss anything. Thank you.

  I've installed phpBB Forums last week and the past 2 days I've been getting users sign up and posting spam chinese emails on each topic. I have:- Added captcha on registration Made sure users have to verify subscription by email before allowing to post What else can I do to stop this from happening? I've banned their IP addresses but this doesn't stop them from using a proxy to keep spamming the forums. I've read I can block all chinese IP addresses through ACP but is this the best step to block all this? Seems to be all chinese spam at the minute, any help would be much appreciated.

• External link tracking when opening the link in a new window in Google Analytics?

  OK, so this seems like a really simply problem, but I have yet to find a solution that accomplishes the following: Opens the link in a new window Tracks the event in GA (obviously) Doesn't trigger pop-up blockers (uses target="_blank" instead of window.open) Most of the code I've seen, including Google's, doesn't take into account the case of opening in a new window - they just window location.href. Even GAAddons (http://gaaddons.com/), which charges for commercial use, doesn't seem to work for me. Perhaps, I'm missing something simple - I'd be relieved if so and would thank profusely whoever points it out to me! If no one is able to provide an example, I'll post some of the test cases I've created to illustrate the problem. Thanks.

• The new Facebook Pages removed publication localization (translation)? [closed]

  On the previous version of Facebook Pages I was able to specify in which language (or even countries) I wanted to publish a post. I've searched a LOT of time everywhere and I do not find anything like that since the timeline has landed on Facebook Pages. Do you know how I could publish something on a Facebook Page but only for ONE language? Because publishing things in several languages could get the "page fans" angry (too many new items that they could not read) and unlike the page. I would really appreciate how to find some language-specific options for new publications on a Facebook Page (I am admin of that page, of course). Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks you

• Can't install Ubuntu 11.10 on a seperate disk partition. I have a log file. Please help!

  Before I installed Ubuntu, I resized my C: drive (which has my Windows 7 OS). Prior to resizing, I even defragged the said drive. I tried using Wubi to install it on the created partition, but I receive an error. I have the log file and I would post it but it's too long and the site won't let me. :(So anyway, I wasn't able to install it, so I uninstalled it. Upon uninstalling Wubi and Ubuntu, I tried installing it by having the CD to my CD ROM. The installation was a success, however, upon rebooting I can neither boot to Ubuntu OR Windows 7. I get stuck in an infinite bootloop. I hope you can help me out! :(

• Windows Server 2008 - Non-Domain users can see my server shares

  Windows Server 2008 - Server Machine Windows 7 Professional - Client Machine I have a domain. It was setup by the client. The shares on the server are restricted correctly when a user logs on to the domain and uses their workstation, I have a few groups setup to restrict some access but the groups are at their core "Domain Users". The problem I am having is that when a user brings in a laptop with Windows 7 Pro on it, they can type up the name of the server in the "Run Dialog" on the start menu like "\SERVERNAME\" and access all of the shares freely... because they are not logged in to the domain there are no restrictions it seems.I have reviewed the permissions on the folders and they all have to be "Domain Users" and I have removed "Everyone" from the list of people able to see it. Guest access is also disabled...What am I doing wrong? Only group in the list is "Domain Users" isn't a domain user a user that is logged in to the domain? How do I stop non-domain users from seeing the shared folder? I noticed this on Windows Server 2003 too at another time. I assume they both had similar security issues and neither were set up by myself so I am not sure what could have been enabled or specifically deactivated that makes this issue appear.

• Resume upgrade to 13.10

  I had 13.04 and started to upgrade to 13.10. But the computer hanged and I rebooted it. I did instructions from How do I resume a release upgrade/update? Now OS launches, but I upgrade is incomplete: there is no panels in Unity (just a background with some files on Desktop). I think that some post-install scripts didn't launch. Please help me with this trouble. P.S. Or how can I completely reinstall unity (with all of the dependencies)? • Can I stop battery charging at say 80% and switch to AC?

  While I was looking for a battery management utility for my Dell E5420, I came to read this post - How can I limit battery charging to 80% capacity? . Sofar, I haven't found one that relates to my laptop. So, I wonder now if any battery manager utility can be found for my laptop specified above. I would be happy if someone could point me if such utility is available under Ubuntu 12.04 that can stop charging a battery at a certain percentage and to ONLY use A/C mode. • Get Compiz working on x1300 ati

  Hi, I have Ubuntu 10.10 installed on a thinkpad T60 with an ati mobile x1300. Ubuntu isn't loading any proprietary drivers and compiz doesn't work. A google search turned up nothing. Sure, some people reported "bad performance", but I'm not getting any "performance" with compiz and these post were all for previous editions. I'm new to messing with ati drivers. Is there a way to make sure xorg-video-ati is loaded? Do I have to add any voodoo lines somewhere in /etc/X11/? Did anyone else have this problem? Thanks for your help!

  So bassicly this is the problem quoted from my teacher : "You have to write a program in C++ that computes the minimal and the maximal value of function f(x,y) obtained on an integer point in a given rectangle [a, b] x [c, d]. Your program should prompt the user to input numerical values of a, b, c and d, as floating point numbers, which are expected to be in a range from -100 thru 100.   I'm looking for a preferably PHP and web based system, to run on Ubuntu server. Basically it should be a "file forum" in the sense that users can register and be approved to post files to categories. Users with "read" privileges can then go through the categories and download files. Basically I sort of want a FTP-like system, but it should be as easy to manage users, categories, etc as that of a forum system like vB or phpBB. If it could have a forum look and feel that would also be great, but I don't want any discussions taking place.

• Found a better solution to a problem at work - should I deter from posting the code snippet online?

  I think most of us, programmers, used Stack Overflow to solve every day problems: looked for an efficient algorithm to do something. Now imagine a situation: you have a problem to solve. Googled a bit, found a StackOverflow question but you are not really satisfied with the answers so far. So you have to do your own research: you need to do it because you want it in the company's app. Eventually after some hours you have found the better solution. You're happy, you added it to the company's code base, then you want to submit your answer with a code snippet (just several lines) to the question you've found before to help others too. But wait: the company's software is closed source, and you worked on it on the clock. So does this mean I shouldn't post the answer neither at work nor at home to that question in the rest of my life, because I solved it at work, and the company owns that piece of code?

I can change the whole text but I can't find how to select just part of it. I used to be able to do it on my old system but I can't find where to do it now. • Why does Linq to Entity Sum return null when the list is empty?

  There are quite a few questions on Stack Overflow about the Linq to Entity / Linq to SQL Sum extension method, about how it returns null when the result set is empty: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and many more, as well as a blog post discussing the issue here. Now, I could go a flag these as duplicates, but I feel it is still an inconsistency in the Linq implementation. I am assuming at this point that it is not a bug, but is more or less working as designed. I understand that there are workarounds (for example, casting the field to a nullable type, so you can coalesce with ??), and I also understand that for the underlying SQL, a NULL result is expected for an empty list. But because the result of the Sum extension for nullable types is also not nullable, why would the Linq to SQL / Linq to Entity Sum have been designed to behave this way?

Having tried a few Linux Player over the past years i come to wonder, which Players you prefer and what kind of Players are out there, that you suggest are worth looking into and why!! I used Rhythmbox for a long time, but "Jamendo and Magnatune" plugin are both no longer available in 11.10 and also my covers are not shown, since i stream my music folder from a second partition. aTunes is another great Player, but there are also some flaws which i contacted the developers about. • 2008R2 Standard and Hyper-V and Ram Usage (Usable vs Available)

  A new server was purchased for our development team to start utilizing the full feature set of TFS, namely Lab Management. Because of the need for Lab Management we bought a fairly beefy machine to handle this task and to also act as a build machine. I have been tasked to setup additional features TFS on this machine starting out with a build controller and eventually going towards a full out Lab Management setup using Hyper-V. My question: Upon initially logging I noticed that Windows is registering 64gb but only 32gb available. I know this is a limitation because of licencing since only Standard Edition is installed. Since Hyper-V is another layer that handles the virtualization of guest OS's is Hyper-V able to access this memory? Or is Hyper-V memory usage also limited by 2008 R2 Standard? If Hyper-V can somehow access this memory, is this how it should be setup? Or should the host 2008R2 Standard be upgraded to Enterprise so the Host can utilize the full 64gb? Before I go hog wild and using TFS I wanted to ask some experts so I don't need to reinstall the OS down the road to utilize the additional 32gb. Thanks for any help or links you can share.

If so what model are you using and how do you find the experience? I have a monster gaming laptop that I usually use to develop on but it is so large and is a real pain to move around with. I would like something that is extremely portable and would effectively let me develop anywhere.
