  • Microsoft Enterprise Library Caching Application Block not thread safe?!

    Good aftenoon, I created a super simple console app to test out the Enterprise Library Caching Application Block, and the behavior is blaffling. I'm hoping I screwed something that's easy to fix in the setup. Have each item expire after 5 seconds for testing purposes. Basic setup -- "every second pick a number between 0 and 2. if the cache doesn't already have it, put it in there -- otherwise just grab it from the cache. Do this inside a LOCK statement to ensure thread safety.   • SSRS 2005 giving me "Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined" when trying to cust

    Hello, I'm getting the error "Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined" when customizing it. I've made several changes to the configuration files and UI, but I keep getting this error. It isn't logging it too in the event log nor the log files, which makes it very annoying to debug. So how do I figure out where the error is coming from? Is it with the URL that's pointing to the ReportServer2005.asmx file, or something else? database for id passed and fill it in control. 2 . i store xml on server as physical file and use it in page i opened in iframe to edit the record. so i am confused... can anybody please guide me that what shpould i do to let user provide interface to edit this xml data/user profile ?

    I am getting an error about the assembly "C:\Ora10g\bin\Zip.exe". The trouble is this solution does NOT use anything in Oracle at all. I could not find a single reference to 10g anywhere in the project. I inherited this from another person who left our group. He never had this issue. Another member of my team said he got this before but reinstalling the client portion of 10g fixed it. No such luck there. I even tried using WinGrep to search the entire solution folder for "Ora10g" but it wasn't there. Any ideas? I can't build this solution until I can figure out how to get rid of this false reference to Oracle. VS 2005 solution. Contains a couple WinForm apps, a couple class libraries, and a web service.     I currently have a website running MySQL and PHP in which this is all working. I've tried installing WAMPServer to be able to work on the site on my own computer, but I have been having issues trying to get the site to work correctly. HTML and PHP files work correctly (by going to http://localhost/index.php, etc.). But some of the pages display "This Webpage is not available" (in Chrome) or "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage", which leads me to think there is an error is the server, as when the page doesn't exist, it typically dispays "Oops! This link appears to be broken" or IE's standard 404 page. Each page in my site has an include() call to set up an instance of a class to handle all database transactions. This class opens the connection to the database in its constructor. I have found commenting out the contents of the constructor will allow the page to load, although this understandably causes errors later in the page. This is the contents of the included file: class dbAccess { private $db; function __construct() { $this->db = mysql_connect("externalURL","user","password") or die ("Connection for database not found."); mysql_select_db("dbName", $this->db) or die ("Database not selected"); } ... } As a note for what's happening here. I'm attempting to use the database on my site, rather than the local machine. The actual values of externalURL, dbName, user, and password work when I plug them into my database software and the file fine of the site, so I don't think the issue is with those values themselves, but rather some setting with Apache or Wamp. The issue persists if I try a local database as well.   • Where do I find scripts generated by SharePoint MCMS Migration Profiles

    I am attempting to migrate data from an Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002 instance into a new Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server (MOSS) 2007 installation using the Manage Microsoft Content Management Server Migration Profiles tool in the Operations space of MOSS Central Administration. When analyzing the profile, I receive 4 warnings, all of which may be safely ignored, but when I actually execute the migration profile, I get the same warnings and an additional error with a description of: Line 6: Incorrect syntax near ';'. I have seen this error numerous times when mucking about in SQL Server and recognize it as a Transact SQL error message, but can't find the actual SQL statement that is being executed so that I may determine the source of the error. EDIT: After enabling verbose logging on the MCMS 2002 Migration category, and poring through the Unified Logging Service (ULS) logs, I received a more complete stack trace at the point of the error, and a couple more anomalies listed below. After switching the profile from pre-migration analysis to exporting, there is one medium level warning that LastChangeTime is not set or incorrect. (null). As with all the skipped test names and SQL table names from the warnings, the major search engines are unable (with the exception of LayoutProperty) to find any reference to these objects or tests.   • Has MSDN Dropped Compact Framework already?

    MSDN Documentation used to indicate if a method was supported on the compact framework. But now I can't find that info anymore. I know that Microsoft has dropped Compact Framework like a hot potato, but I did not know that they had ripped it out of the docs. As examples of what I am talking about here is a link to the Graphics Members. They used to show which methods were supported in the Compact Framework next to each method. Now they do not. Also, here are two methods: Graphics.MeasureString Method (String, Font, Int32) Graphics.MeasureString Method (String, Font) The first is not supported in the compact framework, but the second is. But the docs don't tell you that (at least not at the bottom where they used to). Am I missing something? Is there a way to still get this info?

How can I prove this on an IList<T>? Is this a bug in the static analyzer? How would I submit a bug report to Microsoft?

  • C# Class Library wont register for COM

    Hello All, I am trying to gain access to a .NET class library in Microsoft Excel. To do this I know that the .NET class library must be registered with COM. So I tried going to my Assembly Info and Setting COM Visible to true. Then on the build tab I set Register for COM Interop for true also. I checked the AssemblyInfo.cs file and it does contain [assembly: ComVisible(true)]. But for some reason when I try to add a reference to the Class Lib in Excel the namespace does not show up in the list. I made a quick test Class library with nothing in it and did the same thing (set COM Vis = true , and Register For COM Interop = true) and that one does show up on the list of available references. I can't figure out what the difference is between the two classes. I am not sure if my class is actually being registered for COM interop or not. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this???

Do they do backups? If Yes: How do they manage consistency? According to the Cap theorem (http://camelcase.blogspot.com/2007/08/cap-theorem.html ) their claims are not realistic. 2.1 Do you know detailed technical stuff about the how they are going to realize the claims about consistency and availability? On the MS page you'll find three SLAs .docs, one for SQL Azure, the second for Azure AppFabric/.Net Services and the third for Azure Compute&Storage.(Screenshot in 1.) How can one track whether SLAs are violated? Do they offer some sort of monitor, so I don't have to measure the uptime by myself?
