    Hi Guys, I'm having few doubts on implementing file downloads. I'm creating an app where I use attachment_fu with Amazon s3 to upload files. Things are working pretty well so far on uploading side. Now its the time to start the file downloads. Here is what I need, a logged in user search and browse for Images and they should able to add the files in to a download basket (Let's say its a Download Shopping Cart). Finally the user should be able to download these file(s) from S3 probably as a zipped file. Is there any plugin/gem where I can use for this?

    Hello, i am using the ghostscriptsharp wrapper for c# and ghostscript. I want to generate thumbnails out of pdf-files. Further Information on the sample-code are given here. There are different Methods imported form the ghostscript-c-dll "gsdll32.dll". [DllImport("gsdll32.dll", EntryPoint = "gsapi_new_instance")] private static extern int CreateAPIInstance(out IntPtr pinstance, IntPtr caller_handle); [DllImport("gsdll32.dll", EntryPoint = "gsapi_init_with_args")] private static extern int InitAPI(IntPtr instance, int argc, IntPtr argv); //...and so on I am using the GhostscriptWrapper for generating the thumbnails in a webapplication (.net 2.0). This class uses the methods imported above. protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e){ GhostscriptWrapper.GeneratePageThumb("c:\\sample.pdf", "c:\\sample.jpg", 1, 100, 100); } When i debug the Web-Application in Visual Studio 2008 by hitting key "F5" it works fine (a new instance of webserver is generated). When i create a WindowsForm Application it works too. The thumbnails get generated. When i access the application with the webbrowser directly (http://localhoast/mywebappliation/..) it doesn't work. No thumbnails are generated. But there is also no exception thrown. I placed the gsdll32.dll in the system32-folder of windows xp. The Ghostscript Runtime is installed too. I have given full access in the IIS-Webproject (.Net 2.0). Does anybody know why i can't access Ghostscript from my webapplication? Are there any security-issues for accessing dll-files on the IIS-Server? Greetings Klaus

    I am trying to get to grips with MS Dynamics CRM 2011. I have have the beta installed on a VM and things look pretty good - some great new features etc. However I am getting an exception when trying to connect to the new XRMServices (updated 2011 WCF web services) Exception: System.ServiceModel.ServiceActivationException: The service '/organame/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc' cannot be activated due to an exception during compilation. The exception message is: 'System.ServiceModel.Description.UseRequestHeadersForMetadataAddressBehavior'. This collection only supports one instance of each type. Parameter name: item. ---> System.ArgumentException: The value could not be added to the collection, as the collection already contains an item of the same type: 'System.ServiceModel.Description.UseRequestHeadersForMetadataAddressBehavior'. This collection only supports one instance of each type. Parameter name: item The only reference to this exception I gave found suggests that it is caused by multiple bindings configured in IIS, which in my case I did have, but the problem persists even after removing them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Could not import Django settings into Google App Engine

    Hello all you Google App Engine experts, I have used Django a little before but am new to Google App Engine and am trying to use it's development web server with Django for the first time. I don't know if this is relevent but I previously had Django 1.1 and Python 2.6 on my Windows XP and even though I have uninstalled Python 2.6 there is still a folder and entries in the registry. I have followed the instructions from Google but when I browse to the GAE developemnt web server it cannot find my settings (details below). Any hints gratefully received.   • Measuring "real" phone signal strength on a mobile phone

    I want to programmatically measure the phone signal strength in a mobile phone. I don't actually care about the mobile phone or the programming environment: It can be based on android or windows mobile or even J2ME and can be from any manufacturer (please no iPhone). However, it needs to be a real, commercial mobile phone and not a special measurement device. This problem is not as easy as it seems with a first look. I am aware that there already exist a number of methods that claim to return the phone signal strength. Some of these are: SystemState.PhoneSignalStrength for WM6 RIL_GetCellTowerInfo for WinCe (dwRxLevel member of returned RILCELLTOWERINFO struct) android.telephony.NeighboringCellInfo.getRssi() for android The problem with the above is that they only return a few (under 10) discrete values, meaning that, for instance, the return values of SystemState.PhoneSignalStrength can only be translated to (for instance) -100 dbm, -90 dbm, -80 dbm, -70 dbm and -60 dbm, something that is not useful for my application, since I'd like to have as much precision as possible. It doesn't matter if there is an undocumented solution that only works on only one phone, if you can tell me a way I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance

    When I try to connect to an MS CRM web service using suds/python-ntlm, I am getting a timeout on requests. However, the code that I'm trying to replace -- which calls out to the cURL command line app to do the same call -- succeeds. Clearly something is different in the way that cURL is sending the command data, but I'll be damned if I know what the difference is. Below are the full details of the various calls. The problem I've encountered is it appears the Variable cannot be used outside the activity. I'll use StreamReader as an example resource.     I am working on a web application in PHP. I have a singleton class called registry. This class will hold all the objects i need throughout my application, such as loader classes, template classes, database, classes, etc. When an object of the registry class is created I send it an array with the classes it need to load: // Create the registry $registry = registry::singleton(); // Store those core objects $registry->storeObjects(Array('session','db','page','template','errors')); In this example I only put some of the classes, to get the basic idea. Now I have some classes in the registry that use each other. For example the 'errors' object uses the 'page' object. Now I was wondering if it is a good practice to make an instance of the registry object in the errors object. Like this; class errors{ private $registry; public function __construct(){ $this->registry = registry::singleton(); } } So there is an instance of the registry object, inside an object of the registry object. This does not sound like a good idea to me. Anyone have a suggestion how to model such a thing?

  • fast forward/streaming in html5 video? RTSP?

    right now I've got a few .mp4's hosted on Amazon S3. I know that S3 has support for RTMP, which is useful for streaming Flash. I'd like to accomplish something similar with html5 video; my biggest issue is that I need the ability to seek (fast forward) to a particular part of the video. Right now when I query the video, it loads the entire video before playing, which is a waste of bandwidth/dealbreaker. In what manner could this be implemented? Is this even possible? Looks like RTSP would be a good bet, but I haven't found whether anyone has rolled this out successfully.

    Hi I have an interface something like this: interface IGenericSetupViewModel<T> I then have a default implemtation of this, something like this class GenericSetupViewModel<T> : IGenericSetupViewModel<T> For some specific classes i have a specific implementation like this: class ContractSetupViewModel : GenericSetupViewModel<Contract> Now i want to make StructureMap return the correct instance, when asking for a ObjectFactory.GetInstance<GenericSetupViewModel<Contract>(); I would like to get ContractSetupViewModel returned, when asking for anything else, i would like to get an instance of GenericSetupViewModel<T> I tried doing this: StructureMap.ObjectFactory.Configure(x => { x.Scan(y => { y.TheCallingAssembly(); y.AddAllTypesOf(typeof(IGenericSetupViewModel<>)); y.ConnectImplementationsToTypesClosing(typeof(IGenericSetupViewModel<>)); }); }); However this results in me always getting a GenericSetupViewModel and never the ContractSetupViewModel. I dont want to have to specify all specific viewmodels so is there anyway i can get this scan to work ?

    I have a legacy atl app that hosts a webbrowser control in an ATL window. I create an instance of the client to host the browser using the following sequence CComPtr<IOleObject> spOleObject; HRESULT hr = CoCreateInstance(CLSID_WebBrowser, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC, ID_IOleObject,(void**)&spOleObject); spOleObject->SetClientSite(this); GetClientRect(&rcClient); hr = spOleObject->DoVerb(OLEIVERB_INPLACEACTIVATE, &msg, this, 0, m_hWnd, &rcClient); hr = AtlAdvise(m_spWebBrowser, GetUnknown(), DIID_DWebBrowserEvents2, &m_dwCookie); CComVariant navvar(navurl); m_spWebBrowser->Navigate2(&navvar, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL); This sequence works fine to create the initial browse window. The call to navigate2 works and if I look at the window via spy++ I have Shell Embedding - Shell DocObject View - Internet Explorer_Server. When a popup occurs (detected through NewWindow3) I launch a new window and execute the same code sequence for the new window. In the popup window the navigate2 doesnt work, and when I look at this new window in spy++ I just have Shell Embedding. I get the same problem even if I instantiate the popup window on startup, so its not related to NewWindow3 at all - it seems the second instance of the web control isnt instantiating even though all the calls return S_OK. This sequence worked fine under IE7 but now I am using IE8 and the popup window isnt working. There is clearly something I am missing but I cant guess what it may be. Any suggestions would be incredibly helpful.

In this function i need hidden field value. but it is not set because the result handler is called after that. so how do i set/get hidden field value in keypress event.
