  • Incorrect rotation of a view controller in iOS 6

    - by XenElement
In my app I've been using the now deprecated shouldAutoRotateToFace method. Now when using the iOS 6 simulator, all of my subviews are rotated to portrait orientation while the device is in landscape. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? I've already tried replacing should autorotate in my main view controller with the supportedOrientations method (or whatever it is that you're now supposed to use instead).

  • Django for web2py developers

    - by carrier
Now that I've gotten relatively familiar with web2py, I'd like to give Django a go. What are the main differences? What would be the most efficient way to get started taking into account web2py knowledge? (It must help to have some python application framework knowledge,no?) EDIT Also, if you've used both, can you offer an opinion on which you prefer and why?

  • Is flash's geturl(...) spiderable by google?

    - by tom
If I made a homepage with an embedded .swf which had buttons that linked to other html pages on my website using the getUrl() function, would those links be spiderable by google? Or should I also put in text links outside of the .swf (which would ruin the design a bit)? I know a lot of people will argue I shouldn't have flash as the main content on the homepage (and their comments are appreciated), but bear in mind, that's not my question.

  • Business object and linq2SQL

    - by Overdose
What is the optimal way to write the code which interacts with DB using linq2SQL? I need to add some business logic to the entities. So I guess there are two ways: Write some wrapper class. The main minus is that many fields are the same, so i don't feel it as DRY style. Add business logic methods to linq2sql entities(these classes are partial) directly ???

  • Where are certain Wordpress files that I want to programmatically edit?

    - by user173951
I have a simple perl script that via ftp uploads files to the server hosting our website. After I do that I have to login as a Wordpress admin and use the GUI to edit a page so that it reflects the new file I just uploaded. I want to programmatically edit that file to save a few steps, but I can't find the file. Are any Wordpress files sitting on the server? The file in question is basically a subpage of the main site.

Is the right way of doing it? If so can someone help me out with the exact code? Thanks for any help

  • Access "currentState" from other classes?

    - by Herter
I'm making a little application in Actionscript 3. In my initApp.as I have created another class which needs to edit the currentState, which is only accessible from the main .as (initApp.as). I found a solution such that I can reach the currentState property from my other class: Application.application.currentState. This is however not a good solution as it couples the classes too much.. is there a better way of editing the currentState from other classes?

  • Float to binary in C++

    - by Eric
Hi, I'm wondering if there is a way to represent a float using a char in C++? For example: int main() { float test = 4.7567; char result = charRepresentation(test); return 0; } I read that probably using bitset I can do it but I'm not pretty sure.

  • Java interface 'interview'-style problem

    - by Codenotguru
Problem/Task: Write an interface with one method and two classes that implement this interface. Now write a main method with an array that holds an instance of each class. Using a for-each loop, invoke the method upon each item. Is this an interview question? (I'm not sure if the author meant to post this as a question or was looking for an answer to the above.)
