• Regex to identify rows that do not contain exact number of occurences of quotemark character using Notepad++

  I would like to be able to jump to rows that dont contain 6 quotemarks in a quoted-CSV file as it feels like a good way to identify broken rows. I think using a regular expression with Notepad++'s find features would be a sensible approach but I'm not sure how to pick the rows up. 6 quotemarks (") would suggest a complete row so I want to skip to any row that does not contain 6. Here is some sample data to play with, in this example its the 4th line I'd like to jump to "sam","mark","dave" "sam","mark","dave" "sam","mark","dave" "sam","mark"," dave" "sam","mark","dave" "sam","mark","dave"

• Blackberry pixel-specific animated focus scrolling

  Suppose I have a VFM full of both focusable and non-focusable fields. Since most of them are spread out far apart, the movement from one focused field to another is jerky at best, even with NullFields in between. In other words, it just sets the current y position to the next focused field without smoothly scrolling the screen. What I want to achieve is to be able to scroll at a fixed rate between fields, so it it doesn't just focus from one to another that instantaneously. After reading up on how to do this, it is a matter of overriding moveFocus and setting it via a TimerTask from an accessor method to set moveFocus, as per this link. However, I haven't seen a practical implementation of how to do this, complete with the routines that are called in the TimerTask's thread. Is there any way to achieve this type of behavior?

• How do I use the Silicon Laboratories IDE with SDCC?

  I'm thinking about using a microcontroller with an 8051 core from Silicon Laboratories. I hope that I can use C rather than assembly language, so I installed SDCC. I installed the "Silicon Laboratories IDE" to download the executable binaries to the on-chip Flash program memory. It also supposedly can be set up (under the Project Tool Chain Integration menu) to use "any" 8051 compiler. I tried to set it up to use SDCC, but every time I hit the "Assemble/Compile File" button it tells me "Compiler process did not sucessfully complete." How do I get new C code I write onto the SiLabs C8051F310 chip? Is there a web site with a step-by-step HOWTO? (Would it be easier to use a MAKEFILE that calls SDCC, only using the "Silicon Laboratories IDE" for the very last step of downloading the executable binary to the chip?)

  I have played with the JSR-299 Reference Implementation "Weld" with the purpose of using it in a stand-alone application, and I have had a look at the documentation, and marveled at the magic. My question is how the producer of a given object to be @Inject'ed is found? Either the java compiler produces hints for annotations which is easily found by the classloader, or the complete classpath must be traversed loading all classes to see what they do which sounds highly inefficient to me, or it is a completely different approach. What is the trick?

  And for stupid I mean Illogical, non-effective, complex(the bad way), ugly code style. I will start: We had a requirement there when we needed to hide certain objects given the press of a button. So this framework we were using at the time provided a way to tag objects and retrieve all the objects with a certain tag in a complete iterable collection. So I presented the most logically solution given these conditions to my partner: Me: you know, tag all the objects we needed to hide with the same tag, then call the function to get them all, iterate trough them and make them hidden. Partner: I don't know, that is hardcoding for me... Me: So what do you suggest? 20 mins later... Partner: I don't know... let's put a tag to all the objects to be hidden like this, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (and so for each object to be hidden), Then we make a for from 1 to n (where n was the number of objects to hide) and we hide them all there!

• JQuery never reaches success or fail on aspx returning json.

When I look at the response text in teh DoSubmitComple function it is {"Success": "true" } Every JSON tester I have tried says that this is valied JSON. What am I doing wrong here?

  I use Vim with ctags for development. I found ctags to be very useful in going to definitions, but I don't know a good plugin to make use of ctags for clever auto completion. It seems that the default Vim auto completion is not good. When I write set omnifunc? in Vim, I get this: omnifunction=pythoncomplete#Complete I do know about OmniComplete for C++, but I don't know any good plugin for Python and PHP. Does anybody have an idea?

• How Do I Convert text to a WAV file With Inaudible Waveform?

  I am trying to create an audio watermarking system. I figure the best solution is to create an audio file (WAV) based on a unique string of text and then combine this with the original wav. The part that makes this tricky (for me anyway) is: How do I convert the text string to a wav? How do I ensure that the resulting WAV form is inaudible (or at least barely noticeable to the listener). I would prefer this be done server side (via PHP, etc) but if the processing load isn't too much then would be ok with something in Flash or Javascript. I'd be willing to pay someone to create me a workable solution (complete source code that functions as described). Thanks, Scott!

  In BioPerl, a sequence object can have any number of features, and each of these can have subfeatures nested within them. For example, a feature may be a complete coding sequence of a gene, and its subfeatures might be individual exons that are concatenated to form the full coding sequence. However, when I use BioPerl to write a sequence object to a file in genbank or embl format, only the top-level features are written to the file, not the sub-features nested within the top-level features. How can I store my subfeatures in sequence files? Should I just convert all my subfeatures into top-level features, and then reconstruct the tree structure next time I read in the sequence?

• Problems with NSTask in OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

  Has anyone else seen or heard of any issues with NSTask in 10.6? This code worked fine yesterday, and is not working today. NSTask *task = [converter task]; [task waitUntilExit]; NSLog(@"Task did complete"); The task does what it's supposed to do (I checked the output and it's fine), but the program will wait indefinitely at the waitUntilExit method. I have a few unit tests that use similar code, they all had passed previously, but as of yesterday, they are no longer working.

• <mx:HTML/> content looks crusty when resized

  I've got HTML component as part of a datagroup itemrenderer which I need to resize the content of (there are lots of them). This works quite well but the content looks really crusty. No font antialiasing. Even at 50% looks crusty. I've considered generating thumbnails bitmaps on load 'complete', but that would be my last resort. <mx:HTML location="{uri}" width="900" height="660" scaleX=".25" scaleY=".25" /> Any ideas?   I would like to make integration tests and system tests for my applications but producing good integration and system tests have often needed so much effort that I have not bothered. The few times I tried, I wrote custom, application-specific test harnesses, which felt like re-inventing the wheel each time. I wonder if this is the wrong approach. Is there a "standard" approach to integration and full system testing? EDIT: To clarify, it's automated tests, for desktop and web applications. Ideally a complete test suite that exercises the full functionality of the application.

  Hey Guys, Long time reader never posted until now. Im having some trouble with Android, im implementing a library called JJIL its an open source imaging library. My problem is this i need to run some analysis on an image and to do so i need to have it in jjil.core.image format and once those processes are complete i need to convert the changed image from jjil.core.image to java.awt.image.   I'm trying to write a background worker that processes a flowdocument. I can't access the properties of flowdocument objects because of the thread verification. I tried to serialize the document and loaded it on the worker thread which actually solved the thread verfication issue. However, once the processing is complete I also need to use things like TextPointer objects. Those objects now point to a objects in the copy not the original. Can anyone suggest the best way to approach such background processing in WPF?

  Hi guys, I'm considering Wordpress as my CMS platform for a client site I'm doing at the moment. However, I need to create a couple of custom 'modules'. One of these modules is a form that people will be able to complete and have a quote, and once submitted, in a special place in the Wordpress panel (like a menu or something), there will be a listing of all the submitted quotes (just fetching it from a table in my database). Another one is to manage a cafeteria menu, so the client can add a different meal to each day of the week. I know perfectly how to do this kind of things using some kind of MVC framework and doing it 'by-hand', but I'm just wondering if this would be possible to do with WP and if yes, what kind of tools I'll have to use. • Upgrade from .NET 2.0 to .NET 3.5 problems

  I’m trying to upgrade our solution from VS2005 .NET 2.0 to VS2008 .NET 3.5. I converted the solution using VS2008 conversion wizard. All the projects (about 50) remained targeting to .NET Framework 2.0., moreover if I’m changing target framework manually for one of the projects, all referenced dll (i.e. System, System.Core, System.Data, etc. are still pointing to Framework 2.0. The only way to completely change targeting framework I found is to remove these references and refer them again using proper version of framework. Doing it manually is not best choice I think. 50 projects ~ 10 references each ~ 0.5 minutes for changing each reference is about 5 hours to complete. Am I missing something? Are there any other ways of converting full solution from .NET 2.0 to .NET 3.5? Thank you.

So how do I convert my array of UserInteractionProperties into an InArgument?

  Hello - I am very, very, new to mySQL. I've got experience in general technical terms, but not with the syntax or concepts of mySQL. I have been tasked with exporting a table from MySQL into a pipe delimited .txt or .xls that I can use to add 7500 more records to manually, then import back into the table. I tried to use INTO OUTFILE, but I don't get column headings, which I need for reference to merge the new records. Is there a good resource that can explain this to a complete novice?   I'm setting up IPv6 using my router which is running OpenWRT, version Backfire 10.03.1-rc4. I made a tunnel using Hurricane Electric's tunnel broker and set it up on the router and I'm using RADVD to hand out IPv6 addresses. My problem is that on computers on the network, I can only access ipv6.google.com using a browser, but other sites seem to be loading forever and won't open in any browser. I can ping and traceroute to them fine, but can't open them with a browser. I can open any site normally with a browser from the router. Stopping firewall service on the router doesn't help, so it's probably not a firewall issue. All AAAA records resolve fine, so it's probably not a DNS issue. Computers on the network get their IPv6 addresses fine, so it's probably not a radvd issue. Similar setup worked fine for SixXs, but I'm having problems with my PoP there, so I decided to move to HE. • Not Seeing Ajax Requests In Firebug If Header Has Been Modified

  Hey braintrust, I'm making an ajax call using jQuery's library to an api, which requires a username and password encoded to base64 be added to the header. here's a basic example: $.ajax({ type: "GET", contentType: 'application/json', beforeSend:function(xhr){ xhr.setRequestHeader("Authentication", "Basic " + base64EncodedValue); } url: 'https://api.company.com/uri/', complete: function(result) { alert(result); } }); But when this fires off, I get a black alert box, so it doesn't appear as if something is coming back. There is no log in the Firebug console that a get ajax request was done. However, if I remove the beforeSend option, I do see the ajax request get logged, but the request gets back a 'not authorized', so it definitely hit the right place. Any ideas on why it's not showing up in Firebug so I can verify the headers are being sent out correctly?

  Hi, On a web site that I am building , when you log in (because the database is on an other server), I use json padding to check if the user as the right credentials. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks.

  Hey Guys, i have a big Joomla 1.5 Problem. I'll create my own Gallery Component/PlugIn and want to add an AJAX Sorting possibility. In the Backend i want to reorder the Images by Drag&Drop in an Gallery. It works, but for the Output i have the following Problem: I send the AJAX Request to index.php?option=com_cwgallery&controller=gallerie&task=ajax As i told you, it works, but i want to display the result in a Layer. But Joomla always sends the complete Template and the Result back. How can i disable sending the Admin Template??? Hope you understand what i mean? Thanks, Sascha

• What do the square brackets in LaTeX logs mean?

  I'm currently working on a parser that reads complete LaTeX logs. Most of the log format is, though weird, easy to figure out, but these square brackets are puzzling me. Here's an example from near the end of one of my logs: Overfull \hbox (10.88788pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 40--40 []$[]$ [] [102]) [103] Kapitel 14. (./Thermo-141-GrenzenFundamentalpostulat.tex [104 ]) (./Thermo-142-Mastergleichung.tex [105]) (./Thermo-143-HTheorem.tex [106pdfTeX warning (ext4): destination with the same identifier (name{equation.14.3.3}) ha s been already used, duplicate ignored Can anybody give me a hint what these square brackets mean? I can't see any structure in them. I have the suspicion that lines 2/3 above are some kind of ASCII art representing the box layout, though I know too less about badboxes to justify this or identify the meaning of the single characters. Then, the "[104" etc. seem to correspond to the page numbers, but I am still not seeing the reason why there is sometimes something inbetween the square brackets (like the pdfTeX warning above), and sometimes not.

• Pipeline For Downloading and Processing Files In Unix/Linux Environment With Perl

  I have a list of files URLS where I want to download them: http://somedomain.com/foo1.gz http://somedomain.com/foo2.gz http://somedomain.com/foo3.gz What I want to do is the following for each file: Download foo1,2.. in parallel with wget and nohup. Every time it complete download process them with myscript.sh What I have is this: #! /usr/bin/perl @files = glob("foo*.gz"); foreach $file (@files) { my $downurls = "http://somedomain.com/".$file; system("nohup wget $file &"); system("./myscript.sh $file >> output.txt"); } The problem is that I can't tell the above pipeline when does the file finish downloading. So now it myscript.sh doesn't get executed properly. What's the right way to achieve this?
