• UITableViewCell color issues with custom table view background

  I have a UITableView with a custom background image set like this: self.tableView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"mybg.png"]]; The background appears fine, but my UITableViewCells (default cells, not custom) have some sort of weird tint to them, and the UILabel containing the "New Project" text also seems to have some sort of background behind it. How can I remove this? I've already tried: cell.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; cell.textLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; Thanks

  What is the most recommended free/public API for accessing financial market stats and stock quotes (preferrably real-time quotes)? I'm not too picky about how it's exposed (SOAP, REST, some proprietary XML setup, etc.), as long as it's got some decent documentation. I'm planning to build a simple web dashboard in PHP with some basic data (basically a quick-n-dirty homepage), but may want to grow it into a full blown web app eventually. Any thoughts? • Error while printing crystal report, with that exception message "No printers are installed".

  I got an exception with message "No printers are installed." while printing a report for depolyed release of our website. I use _rptDocument.PrintToPrinter(1, false, 0, 0); to print a report. I got that exception, even I've more than one printer installed on my machine. Also, I don't get that exception while development, everything while development is going fine. I used "Publish Web Site" and "Web Project Deployment" options to publish/deploy website, but I got the same result. Any suggestions?

  I have an Alfresco document reference; what I'm looking for is a way to access workflow attached to that document and finish it (or progress it to the next transition) through Javascript. Almost every example on the web shows how to start workflow, and from the dashlet I could call task command processor (/alfresco/command/task/end/[/transition]) if I knew the task ID, but how do I do the same thing from server-side web script starting only from the document reference? There must be a way to access workflows from document and manage them programatically.

  I need an implementation of JAX-WS, that is RUNTIME ENVIRONMENT to use a client for Tomcat6. Which is better in your opinion? JAX-WS 2.2 https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/2.2/ Metro 2.0 https://metro.dev.java.net/2.0/ They have different installation procedures and different jars. For now I only need to be able to run a client from under Tomcat6 web apps. But later I'm planning to use ApacheCXF soap web-service, that will run on this Tomcat. As I understand, CXF is a unique implementation that does not any of mentioned runtime environments, so I guess whatever between metro & jax-ws2.2 I choose does not matter, right? Still, which one do you recommend?

I want to display data from an XML file so I added the XMLDataSource to my page, pointed it to the XML file, and then added the GridView and connected it to the datasource. I don't want any cart functionality or other such features, I just want to display the products,their specifications and images etc. on the website and give my client an admin panel to manage products. I am not experienced enough in web development to make a product catalogue from scratch so if you guys could point me out in right direction I would be very grateful.   I have a large tree. I want to be able to visualize it using a GUI tool. I want the ability to pan and zoom the tree image so that i can focus on part of the tree. Is there an existing tool to achieve this? • Entering and retrieving data from SQLite for an android List View

  Hi all, I started learning android development a few weeks ago and have gone through the developer.android.com tutorials etc. But now I have a problem. I'm trying to create an app which tracks the usage of each installed app. Therefore I'm pulling the names of all installed apps using the PackageManager and then trying to put them into an SQLite database table. I am using the Notepad Tutorial SQLite implementation but I'm running into some problems that I have tried for days to solve. I have 2 classes, the DBHelper class and the actual ListActivity class. For some reason the app force closes when I try and run my fillDatabase() function which gets all the app names from the PackageManager and tries to put them into the database: private void fillDatabase() { PackageManager manager = this.getPackageManager(); List<ApplicationInfo> appList = manager.getInstalledApplications(0); for(int i = 0; i < appList.size(); i++) { mDbHelper.addApp(manager.getApplicationLabel(appList.get(i)).toString(), 0); } } addApp() is a function defined in my AppsDbHelper class and looks as follows: public long createApp(String name, int usage) { ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues(); initialValues.put(KEY_NAME, name); initialValues.put(KEY_USAGE, usage); return mDb.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, initialValues); } The database create is defined as follows: private static final String DATABASE_CREATE = "create table notes (_id integer primary key autoincrement, " + "title text not null, usage integer not null);"; I have commented out all statements that follow fillDatabase(); in the onCreate() method of the ListActivity and so know that it is definetely the problem but I don't know why. I am taking the appName and putting it into the KEY_NAME field of the row and putting 0 into the KEY_USAGE field of the row (because initially, my app will default the usage of each app to 0 (not used yet)). If my addApp() function doesn't take the usage and just puts KEY_NAME into the ContentValues and into the database, it seems to work fine, but I want a column for usage.   I'd like to be able to run a command that opens up a git diff in vim, with a tab for each file in the diff set. So if for example I've changed files foo.txt and bar.txt in my working tree and I ran the command I would see vim open with two tabs. The first tab would contain a side-by-side diff between foo.txt in my working tree and foo.txt in the repository, and the second tab would contain a side-by-side diff for bar.txt. Anyone got any ideas?

• django generic view update/create: update works but create raises IntegrityError

  I'm using CreateView and UpdateView directely into urls.py of my application whose name is dydict. In the file forms.py I'm using ModelForm and I'm exluding a couple of fields from being shown, some of which sould be set when either creating or updating. So, as mentioned in the title, update part works but create part doesn't which is obvious because required fields that I have exluded are sent empty which is not allowed in my case. So the question here is, how should I do to fill exluded fields into the file forms.py so that I don't have to override CreateView? Thanks in advance.

  I've been investigating whether it's possible to get a list of the saved items in my Amazon shopping basket programmatically ... Their Product Advertising API has methods for getting wishlists: http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSECommerceService/latest/DG/index.html?FindingItemsonLists.html and working with remote shopping carts: http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSECommerceService/latest/DG/index.html?CHAP_WorkingWithRemoteShoppingCarts.html but the shopping cart of items stored while on the Amazon web site is treated as a local shopping cart, and therefore is not accessible through the Product Advertising API. According to the last link: The opposite of a remote shopping cart is a local shopping cart, which is the shopping cart customers use while shopping on www.amazon.com. It is considered local because Amazon hosts the shopping web pages as well as the shopping cart. Product Advertising API operations work solely with remote shopping carts. Has anyone found a way of getting the contents of the "local" cart, apart from scraping the HTML? Thanks.

  Hi, I'm trying to figure out the right way to display comments such that newlines and links are displayed. I know that usually, you should display user-inputs only when escaping html with h(). That of course won't display newlines or links, so I found the simple_format and auto_link methods. What I am now doing is: simple_format(santize(auto_link(comment.text))) Is this the right way to do this, and is it still safe from XSS attacks? Thanks! Eric

  Is that possible to upload an image from Photoshop (for example, an open image exported to jpeg) to some web place - REST service, FTP etc by using scripting features of Photoshop? For example - I have an image open in Photoshop and then execute some special script that sends an exported version of it to some place over the web. I saw something like this but it uses an automatically generated batch file that executes ftp command on Windows. I would like to use something more beautiful if it's possible.   I have two models: The model NetworkObject try to describe "hosts". I want to have a rule with source and destination, so i'm trying to use both objects from the same class since it dont makes sense to create two different classes. class NetworkObject < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :ip, :netmask, :name has_many :statements has_many :rules, :through =>:statements end class Rule < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :active, :destination_ids, :source_ids has_many :statements has_many :sources, :through=> :statements, :source=> :network_object has_many :destinations, :through => :statements, :source=> :network_object end To build the HABTM i did choose the Model JOIN. so in this case i created a model named Statement with: class Statement < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :source_id, :rule_id, :destination_id belongs_to :network_object, :foreign_key => :source_id belongs_to :network_object, :foreign_key => :destination_id belongs_to :rule end The problem is: is right to add two belongs_to to the same class using different foreign_keys? I tried all combinations like: belongs_to :sources, :class_name => :network_object, :foreign_key => :source_id but no success.. anything that i am doing wrong?

I called them SuperParent, NamedParent, TypedParent and ParentType. NamedParent and TypedParent derives from superParent. TypedParent has one to many association with ParentType. I describe mapping for entities using queryView. But then couldn't insert related entities at once, becouse entity framework didn't provided entity key of inserted entities for related entities. Thanks for any idea

• Making GWT application crawlable by a search engine.

  I want to use the #! token to make my GWT application crawlable, as described here: http://code.google.com/web/ajaxcrawling/ There is a GWT sample app available online that uses this, for example: http://gwt.google.com/samples/Showcase/Showcase.html#!CwRadioButton Will serve the following static webpage to the googlebot: http://gwt.google.com/samples/Showcase/Showcase.html?_escaped_fragment_=CwRadioButton I want my GWT app to do something similar. In short, I'd like to serve a different flavor of the page whenever the _escaped_fragment_ parameter is found in the URL. What should I modify in order for the server to serve something else (a static page, or a page dynamically generated through a headless browser like HTML Unit)? I'm guessing it could be the web.xml file, but I'm not sure. (Note: I thought of checking the Showcase app provided with the GWT SDK, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support serving static files on _escaped_fragment_ and it doesn't use the #! token..)

• Download a file from one ASP.NET web application to other (given the credentials)

  Hi everybody! Im working on a asp.net 3.5 web application (C#), where i have a file with some information that is updated frequently, and only few accounts can access to it (the application is using the asp.net authentication system, stored in a SQL database). My task is to parse that file, so i made a small parser (another web app) a to show the information in a more friendly way. However, everytime i want to parse it, i need to enter in the application with one of those accounts, download the file, put in the parser's folder. Is there any way to, given the username and password, download the file directly from the parser application and use that one? Thanks in advance
