  I have a MySQL InnoDB table laid out like so: id (int), run_id (int), element_name (varchar), value (text), line_order, column_order `MyDB`.`MyTable` ( `id` bigint(20) NOT NULL, `run_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `element_name` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `value` text, `line_order` int(11) default NULL, `column_order` int(11) default NULL It is used to store data generated by a Java program that used to output this in CSV format, hence the line_order and column_order. Lets say I have 2 entries (according to the table description): 1,1,'ELEMENT 1','A',0,0 2,1,'ELEMENT 2','B',0,1 I want to pivot this data in a view for reporting so that it would look like more like the CSV would, where the output would look this: --------------------- |ELEMENT 1|ELEMENT 2| --------------------- | A | B | --------------------- The data coming in is extremely dynamic; it can be in any order, can be any of over 900 different elements, and the value could be anything. The Run ID ties them all together, and the line and column order basically let me know where the user wants that data to come back in order.

  I am having a problem displaying a Javascript string with embedded Unicode character escape sequences (\uXXXX) where the initial "\" character is itself escaped as "&#92;" What do I need to do to transform the string so that it properly evaluates the escape sequences and produces output with the correct Unicode character? For example, I am dealing with input such as: "this is a &#92;u201ctest&#92;u201d"; attempting to decode the "&#92;" using a regex expression, e.g.: var out = text.replace('/&#92;/g','\'); results in the output text: "this is a \u201ctest\u201d"; that is, the Unicode escape sequences are displayed as actual escape sequences, not the double quote characters I would like.

• Pipe ffmpeg to oggenc(2) with .NET

  I am trying to encode ogg files at -q 6/192k. ffmpeg doesnt seem to be listenting to my command ffmpeg -i blah -acodec vorbis -ab 192k -y out.ogg So i would like to use the recommended ogg encoder. It says the input must be wav or similar. I would like to pipe a wav from ffmpeg to ogg. However not only am i unsure if oggenc2 will accept input from stdin, i have no idea how to pipe one process to another inside of .net using the Process class.

  Hi, I am using a simple script on my PHP webpage to decode and output JSON as text. However, what ever I try I can't get it to wordwrap the output. $file = file_get_contents('sample.txt'); $out = (json_decode($file)); echo $out->mainText; How can I get this script to wordwrap at 600 characters without chopping words in half? • How to do a search from a list with non-prefix keywords

I am programming a program to search the name from the list and I need to find them if the keyword is not in front of the names (that's what I mean non-prefix) e.g. if I my list is the music instruments and I type "guit" to the search textbox.   What is the difference between a rules engine and an expert system? Example1: Let's say that I have a program that determines the expiration date of a new driver's license. It takes inputs like visa expiration date, passport number, birthday, etc. It determines the expiration date of the driver's license from this input. It can even give an error if the input did not have enough valid identifications to allow a new driver's license. Example2: Let's say I am making an online version of the game Monopoly. I want the ability to change the rules of the game (say $400 for passing go or no one can buy properties until they land on the same property twice, etc). I have a module in the code to handle these rules. Are these both rules engines or are they expert systems? They both seem so similar. Is it just a synonym?

• A shortest path problem with superheroes and intergalactic journeys

  You are a super-hero in the year 2222 and you are faced with this great challenge: starting from your home planet Ilop you must try to reach Acinhet or else your planet will be destroyed by evil green little monsters. To do this you are given a map of the universe: there are N planets and M inter-planetary connections ( bidirectional ) that bind these planets. Each connection requires a certain time and a certain amount of fuel in order for you to cover the connection from one planet to another. The total time spent going from one planet to another is obtained by multiplying the time past to cover each connection between all the planets you go through. There are some "key planets", that allow you to refuel if you arrive on those certain "key planets". A "key planet" is the planet with the property that if it disappears the road between at least two planets would be lost.(In the example posted below with the input/output files such a "key planet" is 2 because without it the road to 7 would be lost) When you start your mission you are given the possibility of choosing between K ships each with its own maximum fuel capacity. The goal is to find the SHORTEST TIME CONSUMING path but also choose the ship with the minimum fuel capacity that can cover that shortest path(this means that if more ships can cover the shortest path you choose the one with the minimum fuel capacity). Because the minimum time can be a rather large number (over long long int) you are asked to provide only the last 6 digits of the number. For a better understanding of the task, here is an example of input/output files: INPUT: mission.in 7 8 6 1 4 6 5 9 8 7 10 1 2 7 8 1 4 14 9 1 5 3 1 2 3 1 2 2 7 7 1 3 4 2 2 4 6 4 1 5 6 3 7 On the first line (in order): N M K On the second line :the number for the starting planet and the finishing planet On the third line :K numbers that represent the capacities of the ships you can choose from Then you have M lines, all of them have the same structure: Xi Yi Ti Fi-which means that there is a connection between Xi and Yi and you can cover the distance from Xi to Yi in Ti time and with a Fi fuel consumption.   I want to create classes Car, Vehicle, and Airplane with the following properties: Car and Airplane are both subclasses of Vehicle. Car and Airplane both have an initWithString method. The acceptable input strings for Car's and Airplane's initWithString methods do not overlap. Vehicle is "almost abstract", in the sense that any initialized instance should be either a Car or an Airplane. It is possible to pass a string into Vehicle and get back an instance of Car, an instance of Airplane, or nil, depending on the input string. Any particular design pattern I should prefer? In particular for Vehicle's initWithString and/or newVehicleWithString methods.

• Finding the actual runtime call tree of a Java Program

  Suppose I have a big program that consists of hundreds of methods in it. And according to the nature of input the program flow is getting changed. Think I want to make a change to the original flow. And it is big hassle to find call hierarchy/ references and understand the flow. Do I have any solution for this within Eclipse? Or a plugin? As an example, I just need a Log of method names that is in order of time. Then I don't need to worry about the methods that are not relevant with my "given input" Update : Using debug mode in eclipse or adding print messages are not feasible. The program is sooooo big. :)

• PHP uploads file - enctype="multipart/form-data" issue

  Hi all, I have this upload code. there are no problem running it individually, but when i try to add into my other codes, it did not get the $_files parameter. Im guessing it was becoz of enctype="multipart/form-data" in the form tag, based on this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1695246/why-file-upload-didnt-work-without-enctype the enctype is needed.   I would like to extract the information that is printed after a github status, which looks like: # On branch master # Your branch is ahead of 'origin/master' by 2 commits. Of course I can parse the output of git status but this is not recommended since this human readable output is liable to change. There are two problems: How to know the remote tracked branch? It is often origin/branch but need not be. How to get the numbers? How to know whether it is ahead/behind? By how many commits? And what about the diverged branch case?

• JPopupMenu getParent() returning a null?

  Ok so I'm working on an Eclipse plugin based on the JGraph example. The problem is I can't really get the "save" method to work, here's how the program works in short: - I have a DiagramEditor class with an init() method, where I create a GraphEditor object and call the createFrame() methord of that object. - GraphEditor extends the BasicGraphEditor (which extends JPanel), the createFrame() method returns a JFrame and has a line "frame.setJMenuBar(menuBar)" - the "menuBar" is an object variable, which is initialized in the BasicGraphEditor. Till here everything is cool, the problem is with the action listener which is supposed to save a file. To get the graph I need to get the GraphEditor component, so I do a Component component = (Component) e.getSource() whitch is the ActionEvent passed to that action listener and at that stage is the JMenuItem "save", then I get the parent which is the JPopupMenu, then I want to get that JPopupMenu's parent which should be the GraphEdiotor, but instead I get a null. Any idea why? • Regex take too long to match the result

  Hi all I have this regex pattern <(\d+)>(\d+\.\d+|\d{4}\-\d+\-\d+\s+\d{2}:\d{2}:\d{2})(?:\..*?)*\s+(ALER|NOTI) and this is my input (will not matched at all) <150>2010-12-29 18:11:30.883 -0700 192.168.2.145 80 192.168.2.87 2795 "-" "-" GET HTTP 192.168.2.145 HTTP/1.1 200 36200 0 1038 544 192.168.2.221 80 540 SERVER DEFAULT PASSIVE VALID /joomla/ "-" http://192.168.2.145/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=a be4d44e8f3986183a87991398c1c212e=1; be4d44e8f3986183a87991398c1c212e=1 This will return not matched result but it takes too long to output the result. Since i have a thousand of logs/inputs in a second, it should finish very fast for every single log/input. Sometime it reaches CPU 100%. Can anyone help me to solve this regex problem? Thanks

I'm now trying to port my website code over to using PDO, but I am getting an error when I try to use the PDO object that I create. I'm using a CMS on my website, and it makes building page output kind of complicated, but I've tried to draw the structure of what is being called below: index.php -class myClass defined --method myFunction defined (it gets called on pageload & returns the page output) ---include file1.php ----require_once('mysql_connect.php') (creates pdo object) ----*I can use the pdo object here successfully* ----require_once('file2.php') -----require_once('mysql_connect.php') -----function myFunction2 defined ------*trying to use the pdo object here results in the error* The error I'm getting is: Fatal error: Call to a member function prepare() on a non-object in /home/rgcpanel/public_html/account/account_functions.php on line 147 Any idea what's going on?

But by modifying the strtok to the following, tmp=strtok(NULL, "ay"); The output becomes Madd. So how does strtok exactly work? I have this question because I expected strtok to take each and every character that is in the delimiter string to be taken as a delimiter. But in certain cases it is doing that way but in few cases, it is giving unexpected results. Could anyone help me understand this?

  I'm using Text.ParserCombinators.Parsec and Text.XHtml to parse an input and get a HTML output. If my input is: * First item, First level ** First item, Second level ** Second item, Second level * Second item, First level My output should be: <ul><li>First item, First level <ul><li>First item, Second level </li><li>Second item, Second level </li></ul></li><li>Second item, First level</li></ul> I wrote this, but obviously does not work recursively list= do{ s <- many1 item;return (olist << s) } item= do{ (count 1 (char '*')) ;s <- manyTill anyChar newline ;return ( li << s) } Any ideas? the recursion can be more than two levels Thanks!

• How can I load a file into a DataBag from within a Yahoo PigLatin UDF?

  I have a Pig program where I am trying to compute the minimum center between two bags. In order for it to work, I found I need to COGROUP the bags into a single dataset. The entire operation takes a long time. I want to either open one of the bags from disk within the UDF, or to be able to pass another relation into the UDF without needing to COGROUP...... In order to do this, I do a cross and then a COGROUP by PatentNumber in order to get the set PatentNumber, {wordcounts}, {kcenters}. If I could figure a way to pass a relation or open up the centers from within the UDF, then I could just GROUP wordcounts by PatentNumber and run myudfs.kmeans(wordcount) which is hopefully much faster without the CROSS/COGROUP. This is an expensive operation. Currently this takes about 20 minutes and appears to tack the CPU/RAM. I was thinking it might be more efficient without the CROSS. I'm not sure it will be faster, so I'd like to experiment. Anyway it looks like calling the Loading functions from within Pig needs a PigContext object which I don't get from an evalfunc. And to use the hadoop file system, I need some initial objects as well, which I don't see how to get. So my question is how can I open a file from the hadoop file system from within a PIG UDF? I also run the UDF via main for debugging. So I need to load from the normal filesystem when in debug mode. Another better idea would be if there was a way to pass a relation into a UDF without needing to CROSS/COGROUP. This would be ideal, particularly if the relation resides in memory.. ie being able to do myudfs.kmeans(wordcounts, kcenters) without needing the CROSS/COGROUP with kcenters... But the basic idea is to trade IO for RAM/CPU cycles. Anyway any help will be much appreciated, the PIG UDFs aren't super well documented beyond the most simple ones, even in the UDF manual.

  I'm serving ads using OpenX within Rails. To correctly use the OpenX full page invocation you need to set Oa_zones[] array, otherwise all available ads are requested (but will never be used). These are the necessary pieces: Build an array of zones. Ideally zones could be added in any partial, so working with this array needs to be accessible throughout the view. Output full page invocation link ie. delivery/spcjs.php?id=1&block=1 Output zones The problem is, the full page invocation script can't be loaded until the zone array is built (and instantiated in JavaScript). At the same time, the zone array can't be built until the entire view has been rendered.
